If I happen to not get my GT back, I'll simply cancel my credit card, and get a new GT I guess. I'll lose my recon but oh well, that's life. Oh and if I did get a new GT, how would I access the custom maps on Halo 3, cause as far as I know you can't access the maps when signed on as a diff account.

You would have to purchase the new maps again if you get a new GT. Im sure GAF could get together and get the maps back for you. (yes Domino im thinking of you lol)

ugh, i have to repurchase them? Isn't the info on the hard drive? Would I lose my forge creations too?

Let's not get ahead of ourselves. If he needs a new map pack there won't be any contributions or offering plates needed here at NeoGAF.

BR starts are good for those maps IMO because of the corridor (Construct) and outdoor (Isolation, High Ground) battles.

I often wonder how Bungie sets up their MM games because too often do you get the same gametypes/maps back to back to back in some instances.

There still is not a better online setup then Halo 3 so im not complaining. :lol
 
I hate to continue to bring it up, but I'm on my laptop, and when I go to bungie.net it's still linking my Lintendo64 bungie.net profile with Lintendo64 gamertag which shows this mystery hacker. (I mean, as if I needed more proof, sigh)

to contribute to the topic at hand, BR starts I feel are great for isolation, just cause the way the level battles turn out. On some levels it's a nuisance though

I know there would not be any needed but that doesn't mean there wouldn't be those still offering.

I had already thought way ahead of Luke and thought that they would offer him the Heroic Map Pack, but I did PM Insaniac and offer to pay some (or all, depending on amount) of the money lost if that bastard were to use his CC.
 
I miss this game. Busted TV = sad face. Ironic part is, by the time the replacement TV is sent, I'll be on a week-long decent into hell trip to my in laws for a wedding, so it will be about three, maybe four weeks in total without playing.

I couldn't play much Halo 3 during x-mas break because my cousin spent a month at my place and I had to share room with him. I hate to say it, but I need space to feel in the mood to touch my videogames or even stay in my room at all, so I started going out like never before and even made a trip to LA, SF and SAC, all in 2 weeks. Went back to play Halo 3 and I hated myself because I honestly felt like I couldn't pull any of the stuff I could do. To this day I feel like that.

See, I actaully planned this out in advance and didn't aquire any 1337 skillz in the first place. So. Clever.

But seriously. I was sitting with my wife on the downstairs TV watching Extreme Makeover Home Edition (I can't stand the exploitative crap) and all I could think about was how I'd rather be shooting at guys on Valhalla.

EDIT: Right after I typed that, I remembered something humorous. I used to tell people, jokingly, to go get hit by a bus. One day in college, this girl that would come over to our place actually got nudged by a bus after I said that. I couldn't help it, when I heard I laughed uncontrollably. Everyone thought what a cruel person I was. What if she would have died after I told her to get hit by a bus and she did. Well, now I try to say the most awkward stuff to get hit by. Because if I'm actually the cause, like me saying it is why it happens, of someone getting hit, I want to make sure it's damn funny.
 
I am COMPLETELY fucking done with this game until the melee fix. I just played 3 of the most frustrating games i have ever played in my entire life. Not only does having broken combat and latency destroy any fun to be had, but the assholes on the other had to insult me, my team, our mothers, and our "dick-sucking" abilities. All three fucking times.

DONE.

You got my money bungie, and thanks for some great fun. But better games have stolen my love, and I now can't even see what was ever so great about this game in the first place.

Thats the problem with a game being popular. The more popular the game is, the more assholes it will attract. Yesterday I got insulted because of my accent (I have a funky accent), but I have learned to live with it. If you are going to allow them to stop you from enjoying the game, then consider yourself defeated, they won. In my case, I am not going to let any jerkface screw my love for the game. They can trash talk all they want, I am having fun no matter what they say.

English is not my first language. I learned Spanish and Portuguese before learning English, so there is always a jerk picking on my accent at least once per night. I don't care at all, because I know my accent isn't common, but mainly because I am too focused having fun. Also, it has advantages too, my wife loves my accent and pretty much every other girl I am friends with has mentioned the same thing.

Oh, I have an accent too, but I've never been picked on. Then again, I don't talk that much online in games.
 
I stopped playing the game a while ago but it definitely plays a LOT better if you have a cool group of guys and girls that you can play with. Playing against randoms can still be fun (but definitely frustrating at times.) Find a good group of mature players that work as a team and play for fun, rather than stats, and Halo can be immensely fun online.

So fucking true. Nothing better than spiking a weak verbal volley back into some asshole's face and listening to him try to stutter out some pathetic comeback. Almost all of the Xbox Live Assholery boils down to some dude calling another dude gay. I usually just ask them if they're trolling for dates. Seems to get them riled.
 
I just don't know how people can get upset about what is screamed down a microphone at them by a pubescent. It genuinely enlivens the experience for me. I guess because it puts a voice to impending misery, or maybe because gives me a free pass to indulge my griefing streak. And nothing is better than a righteous grief; as soon as someone squeals racial slurs at me in a pre-game lobby or team kills me for reaching the sniper rifle first then all that follows can be written off as 'doing God's work'.

lol I just had to reply because this post is so awesome. It's entirely too easy to rip these kids apart after they start with the cussing and the trash. Even with something as simple as "it's time to go outside and play some basketball timmy" and REALLY love when all 4 team members have the same symbol or some sort of theme. God it KILLS me.

But yes, learn to love the mute. And always, ALWAYS, leave bad feedback.

Stinkles, how many times does someone need to standby before the system catches them? I was playing team doubles with my buddy last night on Isolation. We were ahead by 3 and two kills away from winning. Next thing you know, the game starts acting like someone is leaving, goes to the black screen with scores, comes out and I immediately die along with my teammate. We both spawn, move a couple feet, no one is around, and then back to the score screen only to emerge with instant death.

I'm most angry because the asshats were in a chat together so I couldn't even insult their manhood when the game was over. I can handle being screwed, I just need to be able to get some verbal abuse in :lol

BR starts are ok in my book for certain maps, but for places like Guardian it's definitely not needed.

Funny thing about Lone Wolves at level 41 and up, you don't hear anyone trash talk. If they say anything it's don't veto we'll get oddball or good game.

Same here... It wouldn't be that bad if the kids didn't have so squeaky voices. The polarity of hearing a squeaky voice acting tough is kind of funny, but not in large doses.

...And good god; The constant "Veto. VETO. VEEEEEETOOOOOOO. VEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEETOOOOOO!!!!! VETO VETO VETO VEEETO VETOOOOO VETO VETO VEEEEEEEEEETOOOOOOOOOO!!!!" in every fukin game! :lol

Played ranked big team battle before, love driving the warthogs and racking up kills with some guy on top, but he got a killtrocity and it was 99.99999% down to my awesome awesome driving skills. So unfair. My medal collection neeeeds this :(

I've tried playing Halo 3 the last couple of nights... I haven't really played since Orange Box/CoD4 and is it just me, or does everybody just bunny-hop everywhere instead of running walking? Talk about irritating and stupid.

Needless to say, I went back to CoD 4. I'd love to try TF2 again, but where are my ranked games people? Last night, prime-time PST and there was only 1 game? What happened here?

Um, no? Most people run, but there is an element of jumping in Halo. It's part of the game.
