The Official Halo 3 Thread

Played some Halo 3 first time since october. BTB. My aiming went to shit, had to drop down from 9 to 7 and still have problems. I was as fast as a cat (relatively speaking) but too cocky. Now I'm just cocky :(

I have a 1080p TV now and I was worried Halo 3 would look bad, but it doesn't. Probably looks even cleaner than on my previous set. Nice IQ as far as I'm concerned.

Can't wait to try it out later. Though, I hate to do anything but TS, which I've been being a rank whore in recently. (Level 29!)
 
Tieno...I don't know who it is in your avatar, but each iteration of it scares me more...

I have a dodgeball game tonight, but I plan to give BTB a run later tonight.

I have been on the verge of sending him a PM about this goofy guy ever since I started Gaffing. So now's a better time than ever: who the hell is this dude?? :lol
 
luke, stinkles, is it possible to give us the ability to place more than 1 kind of custom powerup? It'd be really awesome to have multiple types. Oh and let us set the custom powerup duration to unlimited too. That way we can create different "classes"!

I think he's explained it before, it must not have been very memorable.

Crap, my 360 pad is busted. The left thumbstick doesn't register the push forward. When I try to walk forward in a straight line it doesn't speed up, so I can't run. Diagonally or sideways is fine, but not straight forward. Now the awkward DMC4 demo experience makes sense (stupidly slow Dante)

There are a couple of minor bugs in the list that will be cleared up next week. But yeah, it's fun.

college classes start in 10 minutes :( :( :(

Anyways, I finally got some more money so I'm going to be gifting 1K points again for people in the US who want the map pack, but don't have it.

For one thing, it increases the chances of playing new maps in normal matchmaking.


But mostly it's just really nice. The maps are awesome and every real Halo fan should be able to play on them. I applaud you, DT.

Dude, you are a college student, WTF? I am not saying you shouldn't do it, but I srsly have so many damn bills to pay that the least of my worries is increasing the chances of seeing the new maps in the ranked playlists.

I think he's doing it just to be nice to fellow Gaffers (we are the elite, amirite?), not so he can play Standoff in Team Slayer or whatever.

That's just a sweet bonus! :D

Hey guys, I got my hands on some beads and thin plastic string. I'm going to make Halo3 necklaces. So I'm gonna be gifting out 1k of them for people in the US who don't have them.

Yeah, what's wrong with that? There needs to be more people in MM with the maps, especially now that Standoff is in Ranked BTB.

Oh, and the whole FOX/Free MS points thing ticked me off that people out there are willing to cheat the system and take up in excess of 20,000 MS points for their alt accounts.

Man, I have been browsing around lately and ALL the awesome looking maps are made in foundry. (Which I don't have =( ). Is there any sites out there like forgehub? Forgehub is good but it has such a small selection. Preferably that let's you filter by level.

As the other poster noted above - it will simply matchmake you with either folks in the same boat, or in a map you already have. No need for a separate list.

Oh I know, but aside from my other friends I'd be more than likely playing games with GAFers (I saw urk and a bunch of other people on a few nights ago for the first time in a while playing), but if everyone but me has the map pack except me it kinda sucks since I essentially hold everyone back from playing the new maps, especially if they want to play them.

And of course by the time they're free that's around the time the next map pack is out, so it's the same situation all over.
