It's Reflection. I like it. I just want to hear Bungie talk about Halo 3's ending.

It's for folks who've never heard of Halo and are curious about what the story is. Most 360 owners have not finished Halo, nor bought all the novels.

Hey, welcome back.

That's understandable, I was just hoping to see something like "Afterthoughts: Halo 3"

EGM style

EDIT: Actually, I'll probably get my "Bungie reflects on Halo 3" fix in the next few podcasts.

What is the song on the loading screen? Got it 'Never Forget', I adore the composition.

Oh and the opening of Greatest Journey is beautiful.

Damn I just listened to Never Forget on my high end cd player, I'm man enough to admit I had a lump in my throat.

First time I heard Wake Me When You Need Me on the post-credit cutscene, I'll admit, I got alittle teary. It was the perfect song to play at that moment.

I heard it again when I bought the soundtrack yesterday and the same thing happened.

Marty is this generation's Beethoven. I wish there was some way to let him know how much I adore his music.

Fuck you guys are greedy and unsatiable. 300 million isn't enough?

An interesting and often hilarious guide to the Halo universe by Jeremy Parish. Though, some of the story summary is WTF inducing.
"The Master Chief and the Arbiter teamed up with 343 Guilty Spark to activate the Ark's manufacturing functions, re-creating Installation 04."
Um, what? They were as surprised as anyone
when the new Halo showed up.
They were chasing Truth up until that point.

Anyone warming up to the level Crow's Nest on Legendary? The level is still largely ugly, Drones still suck, HOWEVER many of the encounters with the Brutes are fun.

Yep, that was my assessment after doing it on legendary. Didn't care for the look, loved the gameplay it provided.

I think the Brute encounters there are some of the best pure Brute encounters in the game. I would have preferred to do very little (if any) backtracking, despite the familiar history of the series has in the whole 'backtracking' field. I mean, really, how many times do we have to go to that damn control room?

Holy crap. That was an AMAZING Weekly Update. Frankie comes back with a bang. I loved it. Addressed almost everything I was concerned about (he didn't talk about the excessive frag grenades, but that's okay, since he said just because it's not listed doesn't mean it's not being worked on :D )

Great update. It felt like Frank was shooting us straight.

Also, the OST is amazing. I can't get over it.

Good update by Frankie. A lot of good talk about the new maps and a lot of honesty. Still though, the one thing that's holding me back the most is the melee. I can play with it the way it is, I'm not that big of a baby, it's just annoying me a little bit that aside from a few comments, it's being ignored. From our perspective at least. There may be a lot going on inside the Bungie office. But before I were to fork out $10 for these new maps I do want to know what's going on with the melee and in what time frame.

There are many issues that we’re investigating, so bear in mind that just because you don’t see something mentioned here, doesn’t mean we’re not looking into it. It’s almost certain in fact, that we are. We’re already looking into issues with melee, with parties being split unevenly in matchmaking, slow matchmaking, skill levels and much, much more.
Sounds like they're working on it. Frankie, how about you guys look into why I suck so much, and what can be done so that I don't consistently lose to my obnoxious younger brother?

The melee is a pretty big thorn in the side for me. Anything is better than the way it is.

I like how they are going to change some of the weapon layouts on different maps. It might make some of the maps that didn't feel quite right, a lot better. And the more maps that can be released, the better the game will be. Because I still think the map variety is the single worst part of Halo3's multiplayer.

How is everyone feeling about the AR? I can't stand it. I can hardly wait for Team Hardcore to arrive. I'll never have to be separated from my beloved BR ever ever again.:D

I find "excessive frags" most often in Construct, but it's bound to happen when there's bunch of bodies around the vents.

To each his own. I don't see it as a HUGE problem. But it isn't consistent.

I agree. They aren't using all the maps in multiplayer as they can, or should, compared to what they did for Halo 2.

AR is great. There aren't any needs for BR starts in normal matches.

I've got a bit of a weird request. A friend and I are trying to play coop Legendary and we can't connect to each other's games thanks to the wonderful NAT settings at my college. Is there anyone out there who could host a game, invite both of us, and then either let it run or play through with us? If so, send WWGray4 an invite. It would be highly appreciated.

Does anybody remember the MountainDew/7-11 Be In The Game sweepstakes from back in September? (http://www.beinthegame.com/faq.html). Well I submitted entries to it just about every day (three times a day once I realized I could do enter that many times). I was hoping to win one of those exclusive blue-spartan figurines they were awarding or maybe even the halo console. I certainly wouldn't have turned down the free trip to texas to have a voice cameo in Halo Wars. I already had the Legendary edition reserved at the time and never win anything from these contests so I figured there wasn't much chance of me wining the Legendary Editions they were awarding... Silly me. :lol

I didn't hear anything from the contest (no email or regular mail) so I figured I didn't win anything. But then the UPS guy came by the other day and delivered not one box, not two boxes, and no not even three boxes; he delivered Four big boxes each with a Halo 3 Legendary edition! These things are supposed to be 'rare' and now I have five of them sitting in my living room. (I bought the one I had reserved.)

I haven't decided what to do with my unexpected riches yet. Selling them on ebay and/or giving them away as Christmas gifts have come to mind. (problem with the latter is that most of the people I know who would want halo3 already have it.) Anyone have some advice? I'm sure I could just leave them sitting around unopened but that seems like such a waste.

Hollow out the four helmets and gather some friends to become the coolest looking Laser Tag Team ever.

greetings junior. i represent all the poor and impoverished templaerdudes of the world. i come on behalf of this organization to request a meager donation of but one legendary edition halo 3 to our needy cause. just one halo 3 legendary edition will make almost all the templaerdudes happy.

thank you.

So i just popped in the game again because i actually missed Master Chief, and i wanted to take a look at it after all the crazy launch hype. (The new VIDOC helped)

And holy damn, if i'm not more impressed now (after playing all those amazing games since) then backthen.

Seriously, COD4 combat made me appreciate HAlo 3 combat all that more, even after playing the Orange box, playing Halo 3 feels like a step beyond any of those games.

But what really hit me were the graphics. I was one of those that was underwhelmed by them at launch, and since then i've played very very beautifull games like Assassins Creed and COD4 and Uncharted for example....and again, holy damn i don't know why but i was impressed by the damn graphics. I don't know what happened but imo this is flatout one of the best looking games of this gen so far. I guess when you start looking at how it looks instead of how you wanted it to look you finally start seeing the big picture.

This game looks great (better than COD4 imo), the lightning is beautifull, this game has the most beautifull lightning i've seen in a game. Master Chief looks great, i finally started playing around with the theatre mode and holy crap, explosions look beautifull, i took pics from an exploding warthog that makes the 3 dudes on it be projected and holy crap, i'll see if i can upload them later, awesome. And it's brilliant how you can fly around and see the battle from the enemy's eyes, and how you can see the great texture work in places that you probably don't even get to look at when playing.

And the cutcenes....they look amazing, sure the Facial animations of the human characters isn't anything to write home about, but everything else....the cinematography (There's parts where the photography makes MGS games look like amateur work), the graphics...i don't know why i wasn't this blown away before by i am now.

I'm in awe at how new it is all looking to me, as if i had never seen it. Halo 3 graphics are severly underrated.

Fixed.

See not really. It think the game looks as good as it ever did.

I just thought that the game would look better, like it would put any other game to shame(on the system). And then when it released and didn't, in my eyes it looked like shit.

You're going about things the wrong way. Halo 3 looks beautiful and consistent with the other Halo games. I don't know what you expected. The water in particular looks better than any other video game water I've seen - and most gamers will agree with me.

I don't know if I'd agree that it has the best looking water, but it's certainly up there with the best. I think the title of having the best water would have to go to either Bioshock or Crysis. I completely agree with your other comment, however. Halo 3 is a magnificent looking game; both in terms of graphics and art.

Woo! Just completed the game on Legendary solo. Took little over a week. Extremely frustrating in (many) parts, but very satisfying in the end. Great, great game.

Did anyone else think that Cortana and Halo were much easier on Legendary?

isnt there an update or patch coming with the new maps? when is that happening?

The Heroic Map Pack is being released December 11th. Next Tuesday. I believe the Playlists will be updated that day but I'm not sure if a patch is being applied the same day. It may be shortly after.

Has this Halo Picture Pack been here for a while? I just noticed it. I went to Xbox Originals and clicked on Halo and it was there.

Keyes, a Gold Elite, and some other stuff.

Thats true, but IMO Halo's water act better than any other games water. A few games have great looking water but the physics in Halo is superior to any other I've messed with

I think picture pack is new with the dash update. Though it could just be a reissue of an older content just free now. I certainly didn't have it before.

For some reason the system says I already have the theme that's available. There was one I downloaded who-knows-how-long-ago with the same name, could it be the same one? I'm afraid to download again as I think it would overwrite my old theme and I'd lose it if they are not the same...

I'm playing through the game on Legendary and it's almost a walk in the park compared to the shitstorm that is Call of Duty 4 on Veteran. I thought I was going to get my ass handed to me, but I'm holding my own.
