I don't even want to think about MLG. My bias against them is so strong, I sometimes fear I will collapse out of sheer anger towards them I'm going to make a MLG opponent called SIPCBOGL.SpudBud said:MLG having a hissy fit?
The Storm is a really excellent level. Play the next level! It's short, easy and fun. The flood "changes" are huge improvements. Plus, you're approaching sheer win.woodchuck said:So I beat level 4 ,The Storm, this morning. AMAZING level. It seems the flood returns in the next mission. But honestly, I have no urge to play the level due to the flood. I'll probably only play the level on co-op.

I agree. Why did they change it from the Beta? It was fine the way it was.RPS37 said:I would really like a way to save a film without having to leave my party. It's quite annoying to have to remember to go back and find the match after playing for another hour.
It was, pressing X in the postgame lobby was perfect. Mayber when you are checking the games stats there could be an option to press X or whatever to save the game.spermatic cord said:I agree. Why did they change it from the Beta? It was fine the way it was.

also Cocop, the Brimley meme wasn't discontinued. It was put on hold. It was being overused by people. It will return though, in my good hands.
God will it return...

A couple questions...
So what's the deal with the extra special legendary ending? What's the huge fucking thing they're moving towards?
And M(H?)edicant Bias, in that last terminal he says he's gonna help you, does he actually in some way? I noticed no difference compared to Heroic (ignoring the usually difficulty difference obviously)
And is there some place I can find all the terminals written down somewhere? With perhaps some deeper insight into what it all means? I think I got the basics but someone out there has probably spent some time figuring it out.
The skill ranking system in multiplayer still doesn't seem to be zero-sum. How it makes sense to do it any other way is beyond me.
AI marines with rockets have a nasty habit of firing directly into a wall (from the mongoose passenger seat) when you jump a mongoose on top of a scarab. And the mongoose kinda skates while on top of a scarab. Kinda annoying when I'm trying to be uber-epic with the scarab kills.
Embrace it dude. I'm not saying when either. Keep you on your toes.SpudBud said:Crraapp.

Ive got no idea what you mean by that. The ranking system is fine in MP and I think it works great.

PedroLumpy said:Essentially I'm saying it's much easier to move up than to move down. My experience has been that whenever I finish first or second I move up, but even if I repeatedly finish last I don't go down.
Let's say for example it's 5 losses = 1 win, so that 5 losses moves you down while one win moves you up. That means when you reach your 'appropriate' skill rating, you will be losing 5 games for every one you win. In the beta for example I started getting really dominated by the people I was matched with at about 18, however due to the a few wins I would take either in an oddball/crazy king/rockets match or by people dropping, I went all the way to 30. At 30 I was getting absolutely destroyed. I did not have a hope in hell of cracking the top half of the leaderboard.
So the problem is that it balances you out at a skill rating where you get dominated, and then you are stuck playing games where you lose again and again and again. Now I'm all for the idea of putting similarly skilled players against each other, but it would seem to me that it should be that one win should be similar to one loss in how much it affects your skill rating. That way you would balance at a skill rating where you win some lose some still.
So zero-sum refers to how the amount of 'positive points' given out is equal to the amount of 'negative points'
voltron said:Yes but youve either left out some key information from your analysis or you just didnt realise it was relevant. Im talking about this: you need to take into account what rank the other people in your match are. Did you know this? If you are rank 4 and you win a match with every other player being 7s and 8s then you will definitely jump some ranks. But if you lost to these guys you likely wouldnt lose rank. Also if you lose to a bunch of 1s and 2s when youre 4 you will likely lose rank too. The system is based on many other factors than just win/loss.
Youre hypothetical of "5 losses = 1 win, so that 5 losses moves you down while one win moves you up" is so totally not how the ranking(skill) system works. It really isnt dude, you need to take into account your opponents ranks as well as other influences behind the scenes that arent so obvious. There was actually some good info in this weeks BWU on this very subject.
Sorry I know theres a MP thread I just wanted to respond that last post in here. Wont happen again.

Link to fileshare in here...there's a Brute Chieftan on Covenant who's actually taking a leak as you come in, and Sierra John 117 grabbed a film. (He thought the guy was doing something else, though...) Spin the camera around to the front on this one; even though he's just miming the actions (Bungie kept his pants on), the modeling is pretty darned close to reality - SOMEONE took their time on this one. It's touches like these...
