WTF BUNGIE? Whoever's idea it was to
Give you NO CHECKPOINTS on your way up to the control room on the snow level
needs to have their kneecaps shot.

a bunch of guns, send them in by the hundreds in a wide open level, give the player almost no cover, and then not let him save for 20 minutes! It'll be totally tubular!"

I keep getting almost to the top and then dying. It's fucking bullshit.

Took a bunch of other pics too, but now it's time to play!

Had a bit trouble to get it, but it's hella worth it to get it before tomorrow!

Haha, bbc news story about the UK (and us launch) of Halo on the 6 o'clock news.

Instead of it talking about Halo they used it as an excuse to attack violent video games and show off the Wii.

Oh and instead of showing Halo footage, they showed the Killzone 2 CGI Presentation with the tag "Halo 3 video game"

Nice.
 
Welp I fired up good ole halo 3 after just buying it. (Not really a spoiler but just to be safe)
Started the campaign, jumped over a downed tree at the beginning, shot a guy, then hopped on youtube for the ending.
Was pretty good game.

There are checkpoints on that level, they just don't always register.
 
Hey guys. I have a question:

My brother and I both want to play Halo3, but on our own schedules.

Is there a way to save the game progress for each person?

Or do we have to play under separate XBOX gamer profiles?

I think its one save per profile. You could do it by level, but thats not that fun. I would just make a separate profile.
 
Is anybody elses achievements not showing up for them? I know I did quite a few things to get them yesterday while playing online ranked matches, yet it did not give me credit for them.

I had the same problem until I stopped rushing to get to the top. Just take out each wave and by the time you reach the bottom of the tower, the sentinels should have cleared out the rest.
 
OK trying to answer my own question:

Skull Multipliers for meta-game campaign:
Tough Luck: 1.5x
Catch: 1.5x
Fog: 1.5x
Famine: 2.0x
Thunderstorm: 1.5x
Tilt: 2.0x
Mythic: 2.0x

2 more to go... Iron and Blind I believe?

I died more in that section than the rest of the game combined. After a while I had to take a break. I replayed that section on easy later on (after having finished the game) and the difference is ridicolus (playing on Normal before). I never got under 50% health and I didn't even try.

I died on normal on first level. But then thats what happens when you let phantoms shoot at you and you stand like a statue.

Iron is super easy to find.
 
Skull question:
Are there skulls that don't count toward the achievements, or do anything? I found one on a ledge near the start of the first mission..All I could do was pick it up with RB. I spend the entire mission dropping it when I'm fighting and then picking it back up..carrying it all the way to the end thinking that's what you have to do, but nothing happens. wtf!

I've died a crap ton on Heroic.

I've always played on Normal in previous games. But dying in Halo 3 doesn't really bother me that much. It forces me to think more about my plan of action.

Haha, same mistake as me (actually I have a movie of that on fileshare. Though I also have a movie of the last level there, be warned). I had to clear off my Halo rust in the first level.

You dont have to take it back. Just pick it up and yes theres no achievement for that. If you activate it from the lobby it takes your HUD away. No weapon or anything - the bullets just shoot from mid air..... its very annoying.

That too, took me a while to realize I need to press the bumpers for reloading.

Hey, thanks that got it. The way they kept dropping in from the sky I thought I was just supposed to run for it, not kill each and every one of them for checkpoints. Thanks again that was getting frustrating. Back to the game for me!
 
Finished the game last night on an all nighter with a buddy on Heroic, fucking amazing experience!

Marty out did himself on the music, almost everything I wanted to be redone music wise was! Give me the soundtrack now prz!

Time to own people on Live now for the next 3 years. :P
