Played through the first level on Heroic and that took me a lot longer than I expected considering how many people have claimed to finish the game so fast. There is shot going on everywhere and so much happening on screen at one time. This completely changes the dynamic of encounters. Yes, I see Jaggy people but with everything else going on in this game I don't really mind.

What did you do to
down said phantom, I can't figure out how?

I shot a few fuel rods to a couple of the gravity engines (the blue thingies it has on each side; i think it has 4 total). Pretty explosion ensued.

Hey, did anyone actually get to fly a
wraith...I think that's what it's called, the purple flying thingy?

BTW I like how the marines talk to the Arbiter and acknowledge the fact that he is awesome. "Hey there, Big A"

Yea the

I second this question...I don't think this is a spoiler..

how do i get out of that mass area of brutes? best tactics to use?
Assuming you are talking about area in the second level mentioned above, I fucking loved that area, probably my favorite part of the game. I was using a shotgun and carb for that area I think.

As for brutes in general, either headshots with br/carbine, a number of rounds with whatever the grenade launcher is called, or shotgun blast + melee. They are pretty damn weak really.

I can't believe actually complain about AI, challenges, enemy behaviour and general SP stuff, when they haven't played it on Heroic or Legendary. That's where the game really unfolds...

When I reviewed it, I did so with a friend on Heroic.

When I got the game at home, I completed it on Normal by myself.

First time through was 10 times better, covered in sugar and caramal and was on flames.

There's this one part where you
have to fight down a goddamn brute pack all armed with... why can't I remember the name of the damn grenade launcher... Anyways, it's fucking hilarious seeing them all discharge at in sequence.

Wraiths are Covenant tanks. Banshees are their flying vehicles. I didn't run across a grounded one in the campaign, although you could board one if they flew low enough or attempt a mid-air boarding, I suppose.

Agreed that part was AWESOME.

People have finished the game already? Damn thats fast, unless you guys got it before it came out.

it took me about 9 hours to complete. it would have been an hour or so longer had i played the last two levels on heroic. but haven't slept in a long tine and was starting to feel zombie like and wanted to just finish up so i could go about the net no longer worring about spoilers.

Oh right,
Banshees, forgot what they were called. I'll have to try jacking one on my next playthrough!

Also, question about dudes with Gravity Hammers. When their armor turns glowy black-and-white does that mean they're invincible?

When it's all shimmering silver, yea.

Also plasma pistol would be your friend on that first thing. I'm going to go try that soon myself actually.

Actually I am looking forward to facing them.

I don't know, maybe it's just me but I like being forced to take a cautious approach to every encounter and if necessary do it several times till I get it right. For me that’s what makes Halo Halo.

I think it IS your setup. Weapon sounds take precedence over most of the rest of the balance. Try tinkering with your settings, because what you're describing is odd.

Trust me, it is NOT my setup. I've tried everything. There is no question whatsoever, when enemies fire at me, it is much louder than my own weapon firing. Halo 1 & 2 did not have this problem, I even played them recently on this setup and they sounded awesome. in addition to that, whenever an ncp talks to you over the radio, it is extremely loud and headache inducing.

the whole thing makes me so sad since the previous games got this right. at the bare minimum, it could have at least allowed for me to get more weapon volume by increasing the center channel but nope :(

the music is pretty overpowering as well, though that i dont mind so much - i just want to feel/hear my weapons over other sounds.

:(

I came up with the best co-marketing synergy on my bike ride to work today.

Burger King presents: Master Beef. The Burger that saves the galaxy. Order it as a meal with fries and a Mountain Dew Game Fuel.

Shame they didn't do this. Missed opportunity. :lol

I have the same problem I can barley hear my weapon fire and the music is way too loud I cant believe there are no audio options.

They waited all that time and they only picked up the regular edition?

Fail.

I don't think that is what they wanted, but that what was in the case Master Chief got the games from. I am sure for the photo op they wanted the most widely available version of the game. No telling which version of the game they actually went home with.

Curious, everyone else getting the weak audio, how are you connected, setup ect? I have TV audio, connected through RCA, and it the gun sounds are not coming in very well at all.

How was your beta experience?

I played the beta with 5.1 and the sound of guns was very powerful.

just beat the game... love the game, found the ending unnecessary and forced.

also... the assault on high charity level is xen levels of bad. everything else is great, but that level sucked.

I just moved, so I don't have my 5.1 up yet, but, my Beta experience with the 5.1 was AWESOME. I could sit and listen to the sound of the AR all day long.

I'll try to set up 5.1 tonight if I can tear myself away :D

Man, this game really, really fucking impressed me earlier today when I bought it (west coast).

the graphics are very fucking nice, and playing multiplayer team slayer on valhalla (with that laser thing0 is sooo sick.

Got my 360 working. Playing Halo 3. Is fun. But..

I'm a grown man and I can't figure out how to look for an online campaign with people. I can go into matches fine, just not campaigns. Am I missing something?

the gunfire is sending my svs pc sub lots of low bass. im thinking people with weak/no sub may be the ones complaining.

now that i dont have to worry about spoilers i can hit up the real main event... multiplayer.

CAN'T FIND YOUR SCREENSHOTS?

Neither could I! But just look now!

http://www.bungie.net/stats/halo3/default.aspx?player=KidInsomnia

I don't know if this is the right way or if I'm just using a work around BUT...

1) Take your screenshot
2) UPLOAD it manually to your File Share
3) On Bungie.net go to your File Share
4) Click on the Screenie to bring up the Pop Up of it
5) Click on SAVE TO MY GALLERY

IT IS NOW IN YOUR HI-RES SCREENSHOT, AND SERVICE RECORD GALLERY.

It can now be used as your Money Shot on your profile page, JUST LIKE MINE!

:D

First off I love the game, I just need to vent about...

I think either my disc is bad or my xbox disc drive is dying. The Bungie intro stutters, and now on the 6th or 7th level the music is skipping. I think its causing other weird bugs too... in mission 3 a scripted event didn't occur. Due to this I could go through the rest of the level without any enemy encounters. I ended up jumping off a cliff so I could actually play the level.

Any suggestions on getting the Legendary game disc replaced?

Still wish that It was easier. How come my other ones showed up without doing that?

Did you watch all the credits and the video that plays afterword.

Also... the ending is necessary, look at halo 2. It didn't have an ending, which sucked. No ending can be unnecessary, it's all got to end sometime:)
