Is there anything different on the limited edition XBOX game disc than the original as far as player icons or anything? They took away my waypoint. :(

I try to find a battle rifle/carbine and aim for the head but the assault rifle also works pretty well if you fire in controlled bursts at the head.
 
I'm a little confused about how forge works.

I am not the type of guy who wants to make tons of shit on forge, Id rather just reap the rewards of other people's labor.

I know I can download various forge files from friends and play them locally... but is there a way to just join forge games online like I do BTB or slayer?
 
Is matchmaking broken for anyone else? It's given me The Pit 5 times in a row on Team Slayer and this probably is the worst fucking map I've ever played in any multiplayer game.
 
Alright here ill make it easier:

Halo 3 Campaign (w/o) Multiplayer = Purchase price of Xbox 360?

It would be pretty much only for Halo since all the other games on 360 that I like Have on PC.
 
Any spoilers in this thread? I still haven't even loaded up Campaign. I was too busy winning in multiplayer last night. :D :D :D :D

I figured a source of heat is a source of heat. Plus I haven't touched a VCR in over three or four years and my memory only allows me a 6-month store.

You can only start your own Forge games and invite friends and vice versa. There is no Forge matchmaking option as its not a competitive mode.

There is no english voice track on the german release. I think I don't need to mention the german voices suck. FUCK!
 
Dude, wtf is up with the Matchmaking? It says that ranked is restricted to Gold only, but when you redem your card, you still can't do ranked. I was never really a fan of Juggernaut and Oddball.

oh i gotta mention. around mission 4 or 5 the levels start looking really really good. insane amount of texturing and amazing lighting.

I did all night :lol Um...I don't know what to tell you other then the game looks great in motion (Some jaggies from time to time, but nothing to cry over). Some of the cut scenes look like poo...

And I finished the fight on heroic in an all nighter...Good times...
 
you guys complaining about matchmaking must not have played halo 2 at all.

the game sort of sorts itself out as more players join and the matchmaking system sort of processes things. in addition to that, the maps may be taking a bit of time to load and that'll sort itself out as the game is cached.

wait a few days and all will be good.
 
Anyone know how much the gold skull multipliers are worth on the meta-game campaign?

When there wasn't many games being played I saw some detailed campaign modes and saw skulls activated and you could see the multiplier but I can't seem to find anyone using skulls now.
 
Can't wait for this, in spite of myself. I hated Halo 2 and found 3's multiplayer beta to get progressively worse as Bungie kept making little adjustments and the 'community' started to take shape (the shape of a big brown turd). But I watch a few videos, think of Legendary online co-op and nearly wet myself. I love Halo mechanics and this game looks like the first game, which I loved...but more.

I'm sure this game is going to take over my life for at least a month.

Correct. Your indivdual Xbox 360 will become better and better at natchmaking as the days go on.
 
You know, I might be the ONLY one who feels this way, but as of completing chapter 3 I actually find myself preferring the single player campaign of Halo 2. Seriously. That may change over time, of course, but it's a tad disappointing thus far. I mean, the game is incredible, but something feels off. Perhaps it's the environments. I don't know how much I care for them yet. The HDR lighting is also really nice, but the contrasts between light and dark often make it feel as if you aren't seeing the full battlefield.

Also, is anyone else finding the soundtrack disappointing? I mean, it's also quite good, but it feels as if it hides in the background a bit too much. I recognize a lot of Halo 2 themes that have actually been muted for this game. The music in Halo 2 just seemed more powerful and epic.

I think the game will require a lot of playtime before I can pass judgment. After all, I didn't really take to Gears until halfway through chapter 2. Sometimes a hyped game requires time to spread its wings...
 
could not stop playing multiplayer last night, got to private and passed out.....im at work for a bit but add me: Dizzyd for some co-op action

To that I say here, here. I switched my pre-order from Overnight to 2-Day shipping because why spend the extra money when my pre-orders of Bioshock and Madden 08 arrived on launch day with 2nd Day Shipping.

Well, then Amazon.com didn't ship out my copy until yesterday.

I'm only through Chapter One, but I'm pretty amazed at how awesome the music is.
