Haven't played the COD4 SP, but from what I've played from the MP beta I have no idea why people hold the graphics in such regard.

Back onto Halo 3 anyway.

See, the thing is, I was literally about to go pick up a new 1080p Sammy LCD within the next couple of hours, but when I read this, I was stopped dead in my tracks. Halo 3 was the main force that compelled me to buy a new TV in the first place, and if it looks like that on a Samsung 1080P LCD, then, frankly, I'm having second thoughts.

All I need is for one Bungie team member to come in here and tell me that the game looks fine on an LN-T4661F. If they demo'd the damn game on it, I'll take that as a confirmation as well. If it is confirmed by either a GAFfer or a Bungie guy, I'll be golden, and pick the baby up in a heartbeat. If it isn't, then, that's a whole different story.

LNTs are hot.

Send Stinkles a PM. I'm almost positive they used Samsung LCDs at one or more events. Whether they were LNSs or LNTs and what the particular model number was, I obviously wouldn't know.

The gameplay is great but the graphics don't make me salivate. Graphics are overrated anyway. I never had a games graphics increase the fun factor or longevity.

I agree about the graphics, a bit disappointing. Some ugly textures and lots of jaggies.
It runs smoothly though, no slowdown, constant framerate.

Here's a shot of me fighting against an enemy w/a grav-hammer in SP

OMG. For Dutch people. One Mediamarkt store will start selling the game this Tuesday according to the advert below, for 49 euros:D! I'm cancelling my pre-order and buy it there and save 10 bucks. Awesome. PM if you want to know which Mediamarkt it is.

That level is the probably the worst looking one in the game up to this point, I'm on the 7th. The jaggies don't bother me as much as some of the framerate hiccups.
 
i finished the game on normal (read on before you start to bash me) in singleplayer and 2 player co-op.

halo 3 is the best shooter i have ever played and one of the best games of all time.

the game has so many "wtf? this is so awesome!" moments, its almost unbelievable.

graphics are very good (HUGE! levels, many enemies, many vehicles),
the aliasing is the only big letdown.


the normal mode seemed very hard to me, harder than heroic in halo 2.

I find that interesting. I thought the general notion was the that the difficulty was toned down.
 
These reactions are a very mixed bag. Hopefully my bias blinds me from all these graphical shortcomings and allows me to have the best experience ever. Then again, no preview has criticized the graphics, so I dontknow what to believe.

The game looks good, great outdoors. If you hate jaggies then I don't know what to tell you.

So you attest there is an excesive amount of jaggies? I expect a regular a mount of Jaggies, even with the graphics looking the same as in the BETA I would be happy, but that pic posted a few pages back looked like PS2 quality.

My big problem are the jaggies other thn that it looks good but as already said not as good.

I'm too busy shooting to stare at the jaggies, they're similar to what was in the beta.

Edit: The only time I really noticed them is indoors, or when approaching buildings/structures.

I do not know whats wrong with your TV, but I had the game running at 720p and it looked much better than that picture you posted.

edit: BETA.

Its the same as Halo 2. There was no TS playlist originally. Dont worry, they will put it after they figure out whats balanced and whats not.
 
Wow, I must've been enjoying the game a bit too much as I have not noticed any slowdowns/hiccups (other than the quick loading sections) Jaggies? Nope never seemed to notice it, not saying that there isn't any, I just didn't look for all of that.

I did what I always wanted to do, and that is play an excellent story driven FPS, and have fun while doing so.

In the end I left having felt accomplished and wanting more (now playing it again in Legendary) Sufficed to say that the ending
leaves a whole lot to speculation (in heroic) and means that there might be a pseudo series in the works? Perhaps tying up loose ends in the story tie-ins with the Ghosts of Onix?)

Those who are expecting OMFGBBQ1111!!!!!!11!11llllLOLOLOL graphics are in for a slight disappointment. Is it pretty? Yes, is it earth shattering? No. Has the Halo series always been about graphics? No.
 
Stinkles or Lukey, why is there no transport hog in multi? Ive been dreaming of that in multi since those variant pics for Halo 2 of it. Why must thou crush my heart?
