Im contplating on ordering from newegg since they are in stock and shipping but i already have my legendary on reserve at eb games. Could i get my$25 back?

How is the enviromental variety? Lots of changes or does it largely take place in the same 3-4 enviroments?

Hmm, yea Newegg has Halo 3 "In Stock" right now. I wonder if I ordered with overnight delivery I could get it tomorrow??

It's very diverse. I don't recall many (if any) environments from later levels that looked similar to previous ones. So far (again at level 7), they are all pretty unique.

Also Vyse, how many "holy shit" moments have you had. Since I remember Halo 1 having a few for me.

The guy who ordered said he called customer service and sure enough it would arrive next day, fuck it im ordering my legendary from newegg now.

Legally speaking, certainly in the UK, MS may have a problem in taking action against those that aquired the product legally (i.e. purchased) it's the retailer that broke the contract, not the purchaser.

Having said that MS' terms of service are such that they can pretty much ban you for anything.
 
Yeah, I get the feeling that article is a hollow threat. I doubt MS really bans legit copies of Halo 3, and I am starting to think MS really can't detect whether most pirated copies are legit or not.

Yeah this is a serious case of BS, i rang my local ARGOS and they said they are selling it but the whole of the North West is sold out. WTF so i then rang my local GAME where i have my preorder and they said they havnt even recieved their shipment yet, they said they were expecting it on Monday.

Im not a happy chappy, i need some GUARDIAN
 
I placed a newegg order earlier this morning for the legendary ($138 overnight). I'm still at step 3, but I'm hopeful.

I also have a legendary pre-order through Best Buy for $106.

I'll probably just end up with 2 legendaries if Newegg delivers. It will be handy for LAN and XBL with the wife.

Legally, MS can ban your account for whatever they want.
PR wise it could be a bad move if its handled poorly or too severe.

As it gets closer and closer to Sept 25th, and as more and more retailers get tons of copies, I get the feeling a very large quantity of Halo 3 will be sold before street date. Is MS willing to ban upwards of 10k people who got a copy early??

I'm in luck! A bud wants me to get him a copy of Halo 3 for next weekend so we can play some coop together and then pay me back because he's not going to have any spare time till then. As such, I just ordered a regular edition from New Egg.

Best situation: I get it early and play through this weekend.

Worst situation: I get before next weekend and sell it to my friend.

I can't lose! :D

(Has anyone ordered from Newegg since that incident to see if their order has shipped yet?)

No I don't think so. I just ordered the regular edition with overnight shipping. Still at Step 1 though.
 
Kotaku says that your Live account will be banned for playing Halo 3 early (SP or MP doesn't matter). As soon as you connect to Live, it will check your game history.

They do answer when there is a shit storm, though, and if they ban people who played the game before the street date, regardless of whether or not they have the legal recourse to do it, there will be a shit storm.

It might not be their call, but I'd still like their opinions on this rumor. (Granted, I'm sure at least Luke is possibly involved with the B.net downtime, and Tyson my be busy writing "The Forge, Pt III")
 
Microsoft isn't going to ban you. The only guy that got banned for playing Halo 3 early was that dude who cheated his way into the Epsilon. Kotaku is full of shit, like always. Jesus...

Yes you will get the money back. I just ordered with next day air. Hope I get it tomorrow.
 
I just placed the order on NewEgg. I'm getting a free copy of Halo 3 anyway later this week. So I can keep the second one sealed and return it due to the fact I'm getting Legendary edition. I'll let you all know how it goes before I have to head into work at 2.
