Just placed my NewEgg Legendary order. Awesome being so close to them, the cheapest shipping still gets to me next day. Woo!
 
Good news.

Microsoft has backtracked on its original threat to ban the LIVE accounts of gamers who have purchased Halo 3 early following high street retailer Argos' admin error.

Earlier today, a Microsoft rep told Pro-G that gamers who played Halo 3 early would have their LIVE accounts banned. The rep also confirmed that Microsoft was able to ban accounts based on information collected by the console which showed when the game was played.

However, Pro-G has since been contacted by another MS rep, who said the ban only applies to Microsoft employees.

Wait everyone is freaking out over step 4? They are probably prepping all the copies to go out but I doubt they will actually be shipped until Friday/Monday.

unrelated, but i found it interesting...

i have a presentation i have to do in one of my teacher credential classes. it can be on anything i want, so of course, i'll be doing mine on Halo multiplayer. i was actually probably going to chicken out and do it on fishing or camping instead, as my class is taught by a 70 year old man and EVERYONE else in it is female, must of whom are adults. i just didnt think it would fly and it may be difficult to go into it without dumbing it down too much with that audience.

however, last night this girl in my class was joking around with me and saying that she thought doing it on halo would be hilarious and awesome. an older woman overheard and was over joyed, her sons were HUGE fans and she'd like to know more about it. several other people showed legitimate interest as well, which was just... well, shocking.

i guess i just really underestimated halo's now mainstream level of recognition. it seems most people, even older house wives, know what halo is at least on the most basic of levels.

if anyone cares, i'll likely throw up my powerpoint of the presentation afterwards :P
 
Newegg ships at noon PST so they still have 3.5 hours to box up everyone's order and get it out. I don't expect any step 4/5 confirmation for a few more hours.

Games TM (9/10)

Spoke to my friend who is the Editor of GamesTM Retro. Whilst he wouldn't discuss the finer details he did tell me that they've awarded Halo 3 a 9/10.

Oh and a side note Atari were there having a PR meeting for Conan, and they brought beer, waita work the press there Atari.

9/10 is good, but tbh GamesTM aren't that harsh, but its always hard for a sequel to score a 10.

For the non-uk guys GamesTM is the joint biggest games magazine in the UK along with Edge

If they don't ship until next week we should be able to cancel our orders since it was their mistake that the website said "In Stock."

I don't even know why I'm going through all this trouble, I have to take the GRE this weekend and will have no time to play until late Sunday night even if I do get it. Something about Halo is forcing me to do it. Bugine mind control?
 
I'm blatently going to Argos tomorrow to see if there selling it still. Any Uk'ers manage to get it from them today & know if they are continuing to sell?
