Nah, the "Are you afraid of Death" thread from a few days ago. What's funny, is that just about every year, I go through a day or so(but not a week) of overthinking it.

Oh, and just because this is the Halo 3 Thread, I think I found a way to block off the tunnel on the top of Barracks Open. Though, now this means in the back of the bases there are boxes and not bridges, but it will hopefully work out.

I just found out that the Annual Vidmaster is much easier than I expected. Apparently, the Iron Skull only makes you spawn back at checkpoints when you play in co-op.

You didn't know that?(Or have it yet?) If you want to organize a party, whenever you're on I can help you(or anyone) get it. I love the part on top of the Control Room when you're defending the door. :lol

hahaha that's not true!!

i really haven't played with gaffers in a while and not because i haven't been around but lately I've just not wanted to play anything other than MLG games. I'm just in an MLG funk right now.

I am however usually down for HaloGAF Customs Night.

Well, Wastelands was pretty..um, open. Pretty quick to capture all three flags needed to win in a short amount of time. Plus, if you have Overshields(like I did), you can easily charge in and get a capture. :lol

I've been slowly chipping away at finishing the Campaign on Legendary solo and I've gotten up to The Covenant, but I've run into a problem. The game won't save my progress when I "Save and Quit." It just starts me at the beginning of the mission. I've gotten to the second tower 3 times now only to have the save deleted. Anyone else have this problem?

P.S. I'm getting on in a few minutes if anyone needs another team mate.

Ah yes, saw that on Dave's twitter. I'm guessing it'll just be a new firefight map or something. I wonder if it'll be more of this map (see below); it makes sense since it seems to be focused on vehicular combat, and that would be something new to talk about.

Yeah, Avalanche somehow makes it that even when the bomb isn't moving at all and the teams are at a stalemate, the game is still fun.

I don't recall ever playing in an environment in Halo 3 that was a city and had blown-out buildings that looked like the inter-city of metropolis and outskirts. Also, there certainly isn't real-time-reflections in the BR scope. Halo 3 is gorgeous in it's own way, but it didn't make me say "Gears of Who?" o_o Just wondering. Is it a cut campaign level? If I had to guess, I'd say this was about The Storm. Do we have a winnar?

Yeah, defo The Storm and the BR scope most certainly does have real-time reflection. Unless for some reason my scope flaunts what looks uncannily like all the stuff behind me but is infact just random patterns that coincidentally resemble the surrounding scenery.

I believe what you are seeing is cubemaps, not real time reflections. Luke could've gone with his best guess at the moment, or it could've been removed from the game along with Chief's RTR visor.

I had a terrible night in Squad last night...(must have been the drinks)...but I did manage this gem: 2Kills - 2Deaths - 36Assists where the 2Kills were splatters and the 36 assists were wheelmans...I helped a guy to one of these

and never died in the hog.

i always save right before the geomerge, tap it into place, then start a new round. If i am happy with the results i save again. i will never save in the middle of a geomerge again due to destroying a map and wasting a full day of construction (map did not show in recent map list) because a geomerge went horribly wrong.

Gotcha. I usually do the save/quit for complicated ones and just save as new map (god, I hate getting that "near the content limit" warning). I don't blame you for not wanting to do it again after something like that; I'd probably cry like a hungry, angry baby if that happened to me.

The map is called FrozenGrifballs and is considered by the Grifball community to be the best court for the Aerial Grifball variant. Unfortunately that map will never be included in the DXP Grifball weekend because it requires an Honour Rule. (there will always be some DB who thinks it is funny to run the ball to the bases and hide) If you require an Avalanche map with the central area fully blocked please 'Steal This Map'.

Cool, thanks. I've been wanting to work on a smaller Avalanche map, but have never gotten farther than realizing what a pain in the ass it would be to block off the middle section in a way that looked remotely nice.
