I know this was asked aeons ago but why is it I need to be online in order to access the map packs? I just redownloaded the MMP but it still doesn't show up offline.

As long as you are playing on the console where the map was originally downloaded, it should work offline.

I'm assuming you originally downloaded the maps on a different 360. I redownloaded it too and it still doesn't show up off-line. You may want to try deleting it off your HDD and actually redownloading it if you haven't tried.

I'm really hoping that Longshore can offer up some cool smaller maps. Going by the original picture, the inside of that warehouse could hold some forging sweetness.

i also noticed that it might also bring back the closed double boxes last seen on Avalanche. You can spawn/teleport into them and once inside you can see and shoot out, while remaining invincible. It makes for some fun mini-games.

Here's hoping the pictured inflatable dinghy is a re-skinned Ghost modified to travel on water.

Even though I swore after Brouhaha not to make another map, last night I went against this. I've vowed to keep this map as simple as possible, but we'll see how that goes. Should have it decent enough to show tomorrow as well.

Sooo Marathon. Finally got past the hallway from hell, mainly by inching forward until I triggered the "Enforcers" to spawn (I think that's what they're called), and then I backpedaled and killed the ones in my way, then lit up the rest as they filed toward me in one direction. Much easier that way.

So yes, finished Prologue, and I'm playing through the Counterattack levels now. It's getting less monotonous, thank gawd.

Simple is, quite often, good. I started Entrenched with a goals of a simple layout with minimal (if any) merging. It worked out okay. Can't wait to see what you've come up with next.

(On a related note, I'm going to go back and tweak Sandstorm next; I'm pleased with how the updated Slingshot worked out.)

Now that I think of it, the best custom maps are often the simpler ones. The default Sandbox variant is an example of that, as are many of the regulars on GAF game nights.

Also, I'm at work and I don't want to go home. It's one hundred fuckn' degrees out there. 0_0

So this happened a good two weeks ago but I was too lazy to take anything from it up until now, it's picture-story time.

This is the story of how I managed to cock up the most organised GAF assault in a 'One bomb' - Squad battle.


A minute left to go and we mount an assault, I decide to go hog-surfing.

We rush up to the teleporter while the other hog storms the open field. (damn, we look cool )

I see an enemy and line him up in my sights.

I launch a rocket and... wait... what?

There's a small explosion behind us and our hog falls victim to a black hole.

Our soldiers are down and the assault is thwarted.

I look back in shame, what have I done?

I never understood Team Sumo. The first time I played it I also thought it would be hog vs hog, but the fact that everyone has hammers and ubershields to null any machine gunning

made me reconsider. But if you're just supposed to hammer eachother, why does the map even have warthogs? And why does the map have those viewing balconies, rather than letting me spectate with the 3rd person cam? It all makes no sense.
It's a shame because I think Action Sack could be really cool, but right now it's mostly Rockets, Swords, and Hammers.

I still dream of the day Halo lets you search for custom games.

I didn't get those balconies at first(even though they remind me of a Marathon map that was just 8 or so windows that you could only shoot out of

), but the game was still fun, even though most of the time I was in those same balconies.

Though, having the most kills in Team Rockets on Ghost Town made up for that, I guess.
