I wonder how Bungie feels about Recon and future iterations in Reach. The amount of spam generated from it alone and the frenzy that is recon would be more than enough for me to say "Lets avoid this in the future". That said, Bungie do seem to enjoy dangling the carrot in front of the community.

MS may pressure them to continue the tradition so that at their next press conference MS can boast about such and such messages being sent over XBL.
Half of them being recon related.

I was actually trying to say something like that last night while we were Haloing before Cocop cut me off. :(

I want a shit ton of armor permutations, but more importantly, armor permutations for the legs and feet.

Seriously, if I can look like Shredder from TMNT: Secret of the Ooze (one of the best movies ever), then I'll shit myself:

Every single block I place has it's own story, and it's usually full of curse words. I've gotten in the habit lately of building a non-interlocked beta of a map to test it's playability, then rebuilding the entire thing from scratch with the necessary merging. I guess it's my form of mortification.

That is a pretty sweet-looking map. I've had it loaded up for a while, but haven't played it as of yet. There's another incredible BTB map over at Forge Hub called Frailty. Very cool design and plays well for the most part. The major problem with it is that it's incredibly budget-glitched; there's about $2000 worth of objects on the map and I've noticed the (normally forge-only) item flicker when with a large party. Still worth a look, though.

One of the best ones for me was from a guy I didn't know who randomly joined my xbl party. I booted him, and proceeded to get a "Nice retard bars, BK." message. yay.

Is that picture from PAX 08 (August 29th timestamp)? Why Bungie didn't start work on more maps when the game was delayed a year is beyond me. Whatever. Just make Team Flag permanent.

Well ODST was done at the same time though I forgot Bungie has extremely limited resources. Funded by Microsoft, moving out of luxurious offices into an enormous movie theater complex. Hundreds of employees. Game development is a tough business. I guess it takes more people than I thought to ruin old maps and create garbage like Orbital.

Save Certain Affinity from working on Call of Duty: World at War maps and have them pump out some Halo content. Shit they don't even need to do anything original just have them work on bringing a decent Lockout and Headlong and other Halo 2 maps into Halo 3.

Even if there were more maps in development you know M$ would postpone their release only to bundle them with something like Halo Wars 2.

Yeah, they're from PAX08. I took them myself. Like someone said in the other thread, looks like Bungie had planned that the MP stuff would be on a separate disc last year. This kind of thing makes me so angry with Microsoft for the delays.

They'll go rarely used in MM, anyways, unless a heavy lift in weight got added for DLC playlists. Plus, if Halo 3 got Headlong, we would probably get Multi-flag, like the treat we received for Ghost Town.
 
It's a safe bet that MM will be requiring all of the maps off the second disc of ODST after a few months of it's release. It actually doesn't make sense not to from Bungie's standpoint.

I would agree with this if they also released the 3 new maps on XBL. But if not, there will probably be a sizable group that has all but the ODST maps.
 
I really hope the new Forge objects in the new maps are straight and don't have weird edges or bumps. Damn Sandbox blocks are annoying as shit.

Keep it clean please.

The Sandbox objects are a lot better than the Foundry objects. Most of the time when something looks like it's been chipped away at or imperfect, it's collision box (or whatever it's called) is indeed a a perfect box.

Anyways, Midship, Citadel, and Longshore don't seem that enticing to forge on anyways. I mean they're no Sandbox.

If Citadel is as good as those from Bungie are saying, then it doesn't need any Forge objects.

I'm really hoping that Longshore can offer up some cool smaller maps. Going by the original picture, the inside of that warehouse could hold some forging sweetness. *hopes for big, placeable doors* /nofoundryjokes

Not much space to work with in Midship anyway eh? Though tweaks can be made I suppose. Sandbox was the gift Bungie wrapped for all Forgers. I'm just excited to see what Citadel and Longshore look like (beyond the pic or so currently released).

On that note, I finally checked out the mythic map pack the other night in Customs to see what weapons were in there and to find the skulls. I look forward to playing on them, especially with you guys. Only problem is my connection has been horrible lately and I don't know why. Doesn't seem to be the router...I'm thinking something is up with Cox. If I can ever figure this out and get is smooth I'll definitely join in on the HaloGAF action.
