I know how that feels. It's like I spend more time thinking about an individual block's placement than I do playing the map. Drives me crazy. I have this pent up desire to talk about every permutation I've ever done - for every block I've placed on a map, I tried three others in that spot - so by all means.![]()
Sounds about right, I'll give that a go.My suggestion is to put it on top of the large flat area above the ramp, pushed over to the defense side...
Probably a combination of the fact that no one knew where they were and that they were on 10 second respawns so before the first one extinguished it would respawn. The camo spot would be a good one, I think. I used the grav lift several times to get into the base, but I don't know if everyone else knew it was there. And by placing it back under cover, attackers can grab it and move to different sides of the base to use it. Where it is now, you basically have to grab it and use it right away because it's so exposed.
Yeah, that's something I overlooked. I sprinkled the spawns to whatever individual location I felt was safest to avoid spawn killing. But that precaution doesn't seem necessary and in doing the spawns may disorientate players. It's something that doesn't effect me as I know the map in and out but for most players consistency is probably better. I'll adjust things accordingly and see how it flies next time.few clusters of spawns - a half dozen locations or so - might bring more order to the spawning (see next point).

Thanks. Brouhaha's been quite a stubborn son of a bitch but I wanna see what I can do with it.I think your map is right about where Entrenched was before you nerfed it - it worked, but just needed a little tweaking to go up a notch.
Wow, that person did an outstanding job with his forgery. The map is gorgeous. I'm a little afraid that the lack of routes onto the top of the middle bridge will make it frustrating, but I'm really looking forward to playing on it.Striker said:Nice, symmetrical ground Sandbox map called Shakedown. "Why the hell is strafe on the Right Stick!?!?!??!??!"
Sucks now because BF1943 doesn't have it (neither did Shadowrun or Biosuck) so I have to use Default sticks. So my first game of BF1943 if I've played Halo recently is terrible and vice versa.
But, I'm like you Claude and have never learned to switch because Halo offers me the luxury of using what I want.

Best Buy has preorder cases of ODST on the shelf. These contain the Sgt. Johnson code.
I don't remember if you can use a receipt at any Best Buy store or not, but I want to say you can, so you can possibly get your $5 credit at another one if you have one nearby.

It may me small and unnoticeable to most players, but for me, i have forever quit games within the first minute of playing due to the distraction. It is fine in arcade games, but for games which require immersion for full enjoyment it is a deal breaker.EazyB said:You understand that you can't just say this and not tell us what the pet peeve is... how else are we supposed to make fun of you and tell you why you're wrong?

Actually... it never felt like the guns did anything anyway, oh well. Halo 3 does it the right way.

When you headshot a Grunt, blood, bone and little grey matter should fly from the wound. Not little numbers preceded by a + sign.

I mean, what? Is your HUD connected to the Bounty Hunter Database? Is little Grunty's ghost a Sesame Street fan? Does the Grim Reaper moonlight as an Accountant?
Halo 3's Campaign did it right. Little numbers off to the side, and only when you turned Campaign Scoring on. Please, someone tell me this will be a similar option for Firefight. If not i will try my best to ignore it and not let it detract from my enjoyment of the game. I am going to enjoy the hell out of it for years to come.

In the age of CoD4 giving players a blowjob for finding to shoot button, you better get used to it.NOKYARD said:When you headshot a Grunt, blood, bone and little grey matter should fly from the wound. Not little numbers preceded by a + sign.

I'm curious, do you feel the same way about the multiplayer medals in Halo 3? They are larger and more prominent than either sets of digits, although they don't pop in the center of the screen or over your target.NOKYARD said:It is fine in arcade games, but for games which require immersion for full enjoyment it is a deal breaker.
looking good. i agree with ghal that you should make it a little wider though. actually the middle of your map is looking like a shrunk down version of one of my other maps platform feel free to check it out and maybe take some ideas.Butane123 said:maps
I agree in principle, but bear in mind that you're looking at Firefight. You know, the mode where you are trapped in an arena with other players, a pool of shared lives between you, with regenerating weapons/health, skulls turning on and off, while scoring medals and killing streaks and racking a high score with point multipliers while fighting off an infinite stream of enemies pouring in at all times. I'm not sure what kind of immersion you are going to be, um, immersed in that a little +85 is going to break.NOKYARD said:It may me small and unnoticeable to most players, but for me, i have forever quit games within the first minute of playing due to the distraction.
