But like Striker said, we were in social matches, and still killing each other to get achievements.

So one match would go by where one player would kill everyone in the map to get an achievement. Then the next match I'd kill everyone in the map to get the same achievement.

Surely that's not considered the same as EXP boosting is it?

In the end, you wind up at the same place

Yea that kind of stuff where one people take turns getting all the kills is what tagged you. I think by farming the achievements you inadvertently boosting for exp because one person is taking first and everyone else is taking second so everyone gets exp, I am not sure though.

50 is the highest skill level someone can get.
 
Not trying to defend your actions, but the multiplayer achievements are really the cause of this. Even in games where players want to play seriously, there's your folks who try for achievements in the means of ruining the chances of a win for your team.

Still, though, there's far worse things happening in the MM games.

There's no action to defend.

If I'm in a social match WITH FRIENDS, and we choose to help each other get ACHIEVEMENTS, what difference does that make to Bungie?

That's the part that had me confused.

Problem is, a party of 8 can do a 4v4 matchmaking game. So they can get the achievements without effecting any other's games. Worse is when there is 5+ users in a 8player game that are in a party doing it.

Exactly, so what's the issue then.

If it's a party of us doing it in social, and we're not interfering with anyone else, then why would it be an issue?

You don't get exp anymore, what's the big deal? You got one worthless reward (an achievement) at the expense of another worthless one (experience).

Seems like a fair trade.

he kinda has a point. since his games were in social this is bullshit but bungie did kinda fuck up with the retarded achievements.

i remember playing halo the first day it came out. people were whoring lone wolves for achievements. every game someone would be like 'hay guys, who wants to do achievements?' of course i'd be like 'sweet, lets all stand in the middle'. then they would all stand in the middle and i would score a killtacular with a resulting 'wtf, you pussy'. :D

What he's received is nothing more than a slap on the wrist. He can still play, he just doesn't get exp, big deal.

I'd rather there be no competitive MP achievements but I can't see how anyone could feel cheated after doing what he did and receiving the "punishment" he got.

Got Two Berserkers in a row in TS my Snipe Skills were like Sexual Favors gained just by telling a girl you are from NJ likes its some EXOTIC location. What a hoe.

What does it take a your fellow GAFfer to join your Halo fun?

I've got Halo 3 and planning on getting the Mythic map pack. But my level is in the single digits - does partying up get around that?

You have to teabag everyone you kill and call everyone a BK and be a douchebag. Then you're in.

But seriously, as far as customs go, we don't have any level requirements :P Just don't be a jerk or whatever.
 
I happened to see that while I was working out, actually. First time I've seen the Simpsons new in years. :lol

It was pretty silly. Homer kills someone and humps them a couple times, Marge walks in, and he lets her do it too.
 
I played Halo 3 Saturday night for the first time in a few months, had a friend over so we jumped online and I was having a blast, but then tragedy struck at midnight, we were booted from the game and I received a message that my Gold subscription had expired! :lol Doh.

We played like 2 games of MM together about a week ago, don't think we've been in customs together. I'm really no better than any of the other above average players here, just had a good night.

I don't even get to play the game enough anymore to be a consistently average player. :lol

Remember that incident oh, about 10 pages ago where I fired a stray rocket on Standoff, nailed someone at random from across the map, and that turned out to be the deciding kill ten minutes later in the game, with a 100-99 win? (Probably not.)

One of those "I had to go back to the film to see WTF just happened" moments. I was long gone when that connected.

And we won the game 100-99, about ten minutes later (natch).

Reminds me of that double kill I got on Entrenched with the missile pod. I'm pretty sure you were one of the casualties too. Sticks out because I rarely ever pick up that thing and was sadly the most impressive thing I was able to do with that lag.
