A lot of my Team Slayer games have been very close as of late. I've been getting a lot of games that have been 50-47, 49-48, etc. It's weird and awesome at the same time.

I admire Ghaleon's bravery in always rocking recon. I only put it on for customs. Like some sort of batcowl.

Is it really that bad of a problem? I only helmet I can visually remember are the helmets with the humongous visors. I think it was on the cover of ghosts of onyx. Really, hacking someone account or nagging them about recon is stupid. It's not like the thing makes you better, and if you wanna look cool while playing halo go dress up as an elite :/

it would be cool if bungie came out with a helmet that signified that you have been caught as a cheater or booster. Like something with a piece of pie on their helmet. just an idea

Actual conversation from last night, during a Slayer game on Sandtrap:

"Holy shit dude, you have recon."

"Yeah."

*entire team runs over to me*

"We're going to kill you because you have recon."

"Can we at least sandbag the game a bit more? We're only leading by 15; let's pad that to 20 before you start the gangbang."

To my shock, they agreed. But we lost a couple players so we never got around to said event. I was grateful, and said so.

So, it can be. To be clear, I wear it because I think it looks awesome, and not because I'm trying to attract attention. Aside from Recon, my favorite is the default armor. I'm also amused at how many people think you only get recon for being awesome, and the frequent overheard epiphanies of "wow that guy with recon really sucks" seems to blow minds.

And I'll freely admit that I get a bit of a kick out of the "HOLY SHIT IT'S RECON", because I just find the obsession over it so amusing.

It has increased the rate I'm teabagged by a good 1000% or so, though. Which is fun if you're into that sort of thing. And I remain grateful to have been sent it. It makes me feel special in special places.

Do people still play Halo?

I don't think I've ever seen a day go buy where there hasn't been at least a page worth's of posts. After jonesing for Halo the week after my 360 broke and subsequently clarifying my address yet receiving another email looking for clarification. I haven't even bothered calling them back. I think the newness of the Mythic maps wore off completely for me and I don't really feel like playing Halo (only game I've really been playing for the last few months).

Which brings me to my main point:

listen nerds. i'm going to give you all the best advice that anyone on this earth can give you. STOP PLAYING XBL HALO. you are ruining your lives. i know this from first hand experience.

go out and live life. get a girlfriend, learn how it feels to fall in and out of love more than the amount of fingers on one hand. go out to parties and get sooo fucking shit-faced that when you crash at your friends apartment you end up passing out on the toilet.

seriously, throughout highschool i played this game and my social life went down the drains. college has opened my eyes to what is out there. its cool to play the game every once and a while but if this shit starts to effect your social life and your GRADES, make sure you drop this faster than the time it takes for a fart to disappear in the wind.

Yesterday Shake told me he loves looking at pictures of himself in Recon armour holding a battle rifle. Read into that what you will.

Don't worry, you're just going through 360 withdrawal. You will cease this foolish talk when you get it back.

I'd love to see someone try to file a class action lawsuit over Bungie being greedy fuckfaces and locking out non-DLC owners from just about all the playlists, many of which were previously accessible before. Even someone who doesn't know shit about the video game industry can tell that it's just a scheme to make customers feel forced into buying the new content.

XBL Halo is nothing compared to the life sucking force of an MMO. I just recently tossed my subscription for World of Warcraft after 3 years of leveling characters, clearing dungeons, and building up achievements.

The big difference between something like World of Warcraft and Halo 3 is that when a game of Halo 3 is over... thats it you can easily set the controller down and go do something else! Unless you want to start another game the game is over. You don't really have a 'game over' moment in a MMO, it always has something to do, some new objective to complete, some new item, more levels, etc.

If I was still in school (graduated from college 5 years ago) I could say I agree with you, and in fact I stayed away from video games during college to specifically avoid falling into the loss of a social life and grades. I have a very addictive personality and anything I like I tend to take it to an extreme.

I played Halo 3 when it first came out and have been off and on since, but now I'm really starting to get back into it. I'm extremely rusty, but I'm really enjoying the ability to just stop playing and go do something else...

I quoted the May playlist update from Bungie.net I'm sure it's a mistake if it's happening. It's not required to have the Mythic Maps, unless they changed that at the last minute.

Ranked
Team Doubles – Mythic is now REQUIRED
Team Slayer – Mythic maps added (optional)*
Team Objective – Successfully vetoing will now guarantee a CTF variant (1 flag, 1 flag BRs, 2 Flag, 2 Flag BRs). Legendary is now required. Mythic Maps added (optional)*

You'll be back when you're married, a mortgage, paying for your kids college, paying for 3cars and their insurance etc...
See you then.

Later this month I celebrate my 10-year wedding anniversary with my wife. "Grades" and "social life" are such a distant memory.

Kids these days.

I just had a brilliant idea. Time caps, you can only accumulate so much stuff or levels in 12 hours, after which the numerical rates involved with levelling drop to infinitesimal levels.

Maybe drop it to 8 hours if the population still doesn't get it.

What? As far as I know, Heroic is the only map pack required for TS and that's free.

So you're working out and getting buff so you are strong to do what?

"Getting women" as if they are objects to do what? Fuck them and forget about it? Some life. "Getting women" improves your social status amongst those who hi-five people for being "playa"s. Who gives a shit about being more social amongst those vapid wastes of food and employment?

Video games are a great way to have fun, and enjoy things that are availible to you in life. Not only this, but the making of a game is an art form - by playing through, say, an RPG, you are treated to a grand story that is just overwhelmingly more fufilling than going out, fucking some chick, hi-fiving yourself and calling it a night.

You get the benefit of enjoying an experience that billions of people haven't already done to death. You get the benefit of enjoying an art form. Notice here that I am not approaching games as some h4rdc0r3 EL THREE THREE TEE jerk - I'm going about it in ways much like a movie buff would appreciate film. For tangible benefits, in competitive games, you are constantly pushed to not only complete a task, but learn to do it better and better. You learn to be quick on your feet, smart, and precise.

Oh, and popular television gives you a point of conversation with the lowest common denominator of people. And we all know that mediocrity is something to strive for, am I right?

Anywho, when is the MMMU going up? And is Mythic Brawl ranked?

Yea stealth edit. All I'm trying to say is if you notice you are wrong after trying to show someone was wrong be a man enough to admit it even if you are the one who figured it out on your own. Don't try to stealth edit your way through with a really bad joke foreshadow of some Halo 4 shit.

So actually it was a really nice try since I fucking caught you. MAN UP.
