lol seriously, we could put together the nastiest team of 4 from GAF

I knew a guy who played Halo 2 on 10. It was like unheard of, at least to me, back in Halo 2. He was nasty. A nasty BR. Now he plays on 5 but he's still sick. His team just missed Semi-pro at meadows but they were last year.
I played on 10 in Halo, Halo 2, and Halo 3, but lately I have been missing around with some lower speeds. So pretty much I've played on 10 since Halo came out, and for about the first year of Halo 3. I think I am currently using 6 or 7.

Same here. Something feels different about the ten in H3.

Just schedule it Saturday night. We should have ~12 guys online so we can sub in players if need be (or get a rotation going so everyone can play). While one squad plays PAF, the other could continue playing customs. And if we don't hate each other in the end, they could always join us when all is done

If you need extra's, I'm free really any night for a small amount of time
have to do some studying for exams

My BR is a little off from not playing Halo that much lately but my sniper is still pretty strong.

The Gemini attempt is really good. While some areas may be smaller than the original, you can still feel the vibe that you're on the Halo 2 map. It probably plays helluva lot better than Gemini, too, since there's no beeping door. Only things I would recommend changing before entering into MM/Atlas is fixing cracks in the ramp near the Prophet-location (blue) and the walls surrounding the Sword area ("tree").

Speaking of remakes, a guy on ForgeHub created "Blockout", and from walking through in a custom game, I must admit. Very nice job. The Battle Rifle tower is smaller than Lockout (and much smaller than Blackout's), but everything else is nicely done. Jumps are more point to Lockout than Blackout has done. I wonder, however, how it plays for Team Slayer and some skirmish-like games.

Customs-GAF should be noticed for this.

Edit

Heh, Eazy. That guy also calls his Lockout-creation "Blockout", but this one I mentioned is different.

This one actually looks pretty good.

I don't want to start another flame war with Fyrestartyr or whatever that douchenozzle's name was, but something really needs to be done about SWAT. I played a game on Assembly earlier with Blood, Ro and vhfive and my shots were hitting the opposing Elites directly in the face but they didn't die. I used up almost an entire clip on one Elite.

My question is: Since this problem is so apparent (almost everyone has complained about it at one point), why is it not being fixed? Is it really that hard to ban Elites from SWAT? Or to go back and patch Elite head hitboxes? I mean, come on, host advantage is ridiculous in SWAT and everyone who is not host has an incredibly hard time getting kills on Elites. Bungie fixed beatdowns, why not SWAT?

Ban dinos from all playlists.

They should be more aggressive with the MM changes. Up until Team Mythic, I felt that the game was completely stale. Its gotten better with the new maps and the upcoming update but I feel as if it could at the very least be a little bit better.

There are gametypes to be explored along with new (to MM) gametype/map combinations. If Shishka's job requires him to do much more than tend to the MM hoppers then maybe it would be best if he had some help. Of course, I'm sure that won't happen as I'm pretty sure Halo 3's MM is pretty low on the list of Bungie priorities at the moment. An assistant or second person to tend to the hoppers is never gonna happen.

i was actually thinking about this earlier when i saw how many atlas submissions seem to be popping up. if you're looking for an assistant my pm box is open *hint hint*

I thinki anyone thats been playing since it came out understand what you are saying Blue, but look at it this way. Up until now they have been rather conservative with the changes to MM. Sure, it has come leaps and bounds from Day 1, but the way they seem to be doing things is incremental changes, month by month tweaks. Not much changes from month to month but if you add things up, they are quite drastic from how they seemed at the start.

Another reason I think is simply they have a winning formula right now. They do not need exotic playlist changes to keep the millions of players returning every week. These same millions are happy enough with the way things are, no matter GAF says, Bungie.net Forums say or anything. Every single person on every single message board is the vocal minority. For everyone one of us Halo fans that come on here, from MLG players to time restricted "casual" players, the simple fact that for every one of us there are dozens or more Halo player whose opinions we will never hear. We can never hear.

If every single Halo player from every single web community agreed and tried to petition Bungie on some kind of change, unless that data stacks up against the hard data Bungie collects, such veto stats, the duration players spend on the game on average, etc, it's unlikely to be implemented.

Time and time again we raise issues on here that we agree on for the most part, others give opinions that we may not all agree on, but the point of the matter is that we should expect to have our way and have things suits us.

The difficult parts, I think, for Bungie is PR. How to handle the voices so much vocal minorities, all claming to have their requests filled, especially difficult if it risks alienating the millions of players that might be satisfied the way things are but aren't heard at all.

Backflip, you pretty much nitpick every week some aspect of Halo online which you think is obviously broken, needs changing, regardless what was said before. You are an outstanding, vocal dude, you have my respect. But, to take a recent example, banning Elites? Bungie clearly said a long time ago this wasn't possible. They won't suddenly, down the line, come out and say, "Whoops, it is now possible and it will be done. Sorry." I actually think you come on here and vent like a crazy madman some times, right or wrongly. =P

I do think another hands on person, would help Shishka, but if that idea was viable, then it would have been done by now. Then again, thinking Shishka is locked up in room by himself with no contact with anyone, thinking up crazy ideas by himself without getting some great feedback from atleast another human being is also a bit silly. If Shishka were to get someone to help him, it would probally be best if it were a group of players from a few communities that fully understood the basic and advanced requirements of making changies to MM, but I do not see that happening as he would have to share sensitive data with these folks for them to make correct decisions and I do think that would be possible.

and while they're at it, ban dinos from MLG matchmaking because they're actually banned in GB and at events

Yet grenades still exist in the snipers playlist...
Only in Shotty Snipers, which, when you think about it, is the gametype that they should have been removed from in the first place.

And yet we still have radar in Team Snipers.

True, they might not be able to ban dinos, but shouldn't there at least be some sort of fix on the hitbox? I mean it's so painfully obvious how broken Elite hitboxes are and yet nothing has really been done about it. Has Bungie said anything about the possibility of fixing them? Personally, I'd have no problem having Elites in MM if they were actually fair.

And, dang, you figured me out. HaloGAF = VentGAF for backflip sometimes. Other times it's for intelligent conversation. Depends how Halo has been treating me lately and my mood at the time.

I like my dino, it's fucking annoying to have to change it because I jump into MLG, if I don't, people would bitch. I don't think it's possible, I'm sure it is not possible, I remember someone from Bungie directly saying it was not possible to ban Elites from any playlist. What does asking for the impossible do? You don't think MLG would have asked this of Bungie at some past point and if it was possible then, it would been implemented?

You're probably right, Dani. Its all right now I guess. But I'm never satisfied with just 'all right.' Halo 2 hoppers were kick ass back in the day (I miss Slayer Pro, Ninja Assault, and may more) and I'm always thinking about how Halo 3's hoppers could definitely improve.

yea dani you're nuts, all they have to do is flip a switch. I don't know why they haven't yet.

kidding, there actually isn't a real problem with elites in MLG. It's rare. I just get so angry when I see one

ugh, I've just come to realize I completely suck at Halo 3 now, all of my skill I had is gone. Not playing competitively for a long time will do that to ya. Now I just need to start building my skills back up. Just curious if other people have had this problem
most likely they have except idk if they lost only a little or a lot of their skill

There was a Halo 3 Legendary helmet in the background of a scene on tonight's episode of Chuck, the best show you shmucks aren't watching.

I tried to post this on the forum over on HBO, but it won't let me post it. It says I don't have a profile despite saying "Welcome back Oozer3993!" at the top :(

I've done this for over so many months (Team Rifles along with Team Slayer Pro). It adds freshness to the playlists and game variants.

What are the req's to unlock the Hayabusa Sword? I thought it was 1000 achievement points which would have also been 49 achievements, yet I found out today I have it but only got 945 achievements points and 46 unlocked.

I went over a month or so without playing Halo 3. When I came back, I thought 2 (sensitivity) was too fast :/

I just played BUCKET OF DEAD ME on Sandbox/Crypt/SWAT in matchmaking - where you Spawn in a red "crater" while the Blue guys dong on you from its lip.

I don't remember what it's really called, but the description about sums it up.

I was looking at the medals today for the first time and how in God's name do you get the "Killionaire" medal? I have no desire to get it, I just enjoy the game, but it seemed pretty crazy they had that. Seems impossible'.

The answer you seek lies within the walls of a grifball court

Heh. So after engineering efficiencies into my map to save budget - $50 worth - I found a solution to the man cannon issue that cost exactly zero dollars. So now I'm trying to decide what to do with my newfound wealth. :lol

Prolly save most of it until after the first play test so I can add/modify as needed.

So after some long thinking, I've decided to try a lower sensitivity out once again. The reason behind me wanting to change is because I feel like I've hit a plateau with 10. When I first switched to 10, my skill increased and I got better. After a year, not only did I get better in terms of skill but also in terms of knowledge of the game, maps, spawn system etc. So tonight I went halfway at 5 sensitivity and went into MLG. There's no reason and working it out in social or anything like that, I went straight to the big boys. I'm happy to say that I'm pleased with the results so far. My BR is very steady and I'm 4-5 shotting most of the time. However there are something I need to get reacquainted with. Such as throwing grenades. At 10, I can flick the right stick up and chuck a grenade cross map and then pull the reticule down in the blink of an eye. I can no longer do that. It's lead to some really bad grenades tonight. That will get better I'm sure. I also used to be able to put my head down and book it quick if I got into trouble. I've tried it and I've been killed a few times before my head goes all the way down. Also, I need to get used to sniping. I'm gonna miss the days of the super fast quick scopes but my no scoping ability will greatly improve. We'll see how sniping goes. I'm gonna stick with it for a little while and see what happens.

Juices, as much as I hate it, Gamebattles does allow 3v3 matches. I'm not sure we'll see this one changed.

I just got my sword and I'm pretty sure it was at 1100 points.

The 'Welcome Back' message comes from a cookie - it means you (at some point) filled out your name in the 'from' box. It's pretty close to unrelated to your profile, unfortunately (which resides in a text file on disk - omg WebBBS predates common database usage!).

I just checked, and it looks like you have a profile that uses 'Oozer' (but not one that uses Oozer3993). You can log into the Oozer one by visiting this page:

http://carnage.bungie.org/haloforum/halo.forum.pl?profileedit

Add whatever info you want in your profile, then fill in your password 3 times (once in 'Password', twice more in the two 'New Password' slots), and save. That should fix your cookie to allow logins. If you'd rather use Oozer3993, visit the same page, do the same thing... except this time you can make up a password, since the profile doesn't exist yet. (You can also use the 'Create Profile' link on the main index page, but some people have found this to be troublesome if they've got cookies left over from the last site upgrade.)

If you're still having trouble, send me email with the errors you're seeing.

It's called 'Tundra SWAT', but I call it' The worst map on the planet to play SWAT in'. Tundra's a pretty cool map; I can't understand why the ONLY gametype it's currently used for is one that really, really sucks for this map. :(

It's 1000 points for sure. Probably every pre-mythic achievement only.
It's 1000 points, but they don't have to be every pre-mythic achievement; I've got the sword, but I'm missing a few of the original achievements, still.

I had a little over 1000 points for like 6 months and I never received the sword until I got over 1100.
