At no point did Bungie or M$ ever say that you had to pay extra money to play matchmaking. Be it one of the playlists or all of them, you're still forcing people to pay to play a playlist they were once able to play.

I buy a fucking game to play it forever. Multiplayer is part of the package. I don't care if i'm only supposed to get 30 hours out of it or w/e but since I paid 60 dollars I can play it as often as I want. By restricting me to what was once free, you're now you're shitting on my experience and fucking me in the ass all at the same time. If you can't see that they are forcing this crap down your throat I honestly feel sorry for you.

holy crap where were you in 2005 for halo 2

No, I don't recall ever playing halo2. I also don't recall all the maps ever becoming free. I also don't understand the point of your post, did Bungle force players in halo2 to buy the new maps to play the ranked playlists?

I agree. I'm beyond pissed. And since I'm somewhat of an achievement whore and a jackass, I like my games at a nice 'round 1000. Not 1040 or 1450 or whatver. Fuck them for their restrciting Team Slayer Ranked!

Who didn't know that Bungie would release future DLC and charge for it? Seemed like an automatic given when Halo3 was released. And now people are getting upset after the third batch? I recall Halo2 maps costing money as well.

In my opinion, if the download-able content refreshes the game and makes it more playable, I think I can sacrifice a few fast food trips to play it. Perhaps the price is a more than people would like to pay, but it's hardly an ass raping lol.

Come on man, my argument isn't about the DLC, it's about the playlists that were once free to be played are now DLC restricted!!!! Re-read my post, i specifically say playlists that were once free. I don't care if there are DLC playlists, just don't fuck with the playlists that were once non-dlc that's all. You can incorporate them into the playlists just don't make it a restriction. Why can't people see this argument?

All the map packs for Halo 2 were made free two months after they were released.

I know this mannnn. It was sarcasm dude.

Whoops.

But yeah, this shit with the playlists being locked out to non-DLC owners is fucking retarded. I understand the argument very well. It's a total bullshit shameless cash grab by Bungle.

u no an issue we are not even touching here is the isue of when bungle decides to REMOVE PLAYLISTS from mm entirelty like head 2 head, btb, etc. and some others that have been removvd i am not even tlakin about when they just give the playlists to people that has the DLC i am talkine about when palylist get removed for good

i PAYED MONEY to play mm as full and and as HARD as possible and the fact thta those playlists were IN MM AND NOW THEIR GONE means that im not playing mm to the fullest and hardest extent possibl.e

i did not PAYED MONEY to have PLAYISTS REMOVED!!!!!! period. end of story. when i payed sixty dollars to have halo 3 to be played it started with certan playlists and now their gone. which means that rite now i am getting less expereince for my moneys than when i first bought the game.

if we keep letting bungle and M$ do this then eventulay we will be getting ZERO experiennce for our moneys and i dont think you guys realize this but i realize this because it is happening and i see it

Whoops. My mistake. I still stand by what I said before, though; It's not nearly as bad as you make it out to be. And why wouldn't you want to play the new maps? I guess it's just odd to me that someone who obviously enjoys playing Halo3 online as much as you seem to is not interested in the new DLC. Purchase the new maps and no problem. Or, if you're not playing Halo anymore, why do you care?

I would argue that keeping a separate playlist that never changes, and never incorporates any new content, would make it so stale that the population playing those playlists would be next to none. I mean, let's think about it... How many people are out there who are unwilling to pay a couple value meals worth of money for some new content, and only willing to play the older maps, and the older playlists? It's gotta be such an abysmal number that it wouldn't be worth Bungie's time to implement what you're asking for.

The new content is needed to keep people playing whatever playlists are currently available, whether that's the older playlists, or newer. That kind of makes the playlists and the DLC a combined package. No point in having one without the other. Xboxlive is an ever changing population where people come and go with each new game released. I know you'd like to keep what you originally had, but on xboxlive you can't really make that kind of argument, since to play online always requires another person. Therefore, Bungie has to do what they feel is best for the purpose of retaining as many players as possible.

If that didn't make any sense, I apologize. I think I kind of rambled.

With all the time I've spent in this thread; I can genuinly say that this is the crazy shit I've ever seen argued about. BR vs. AR? Classic. Textures ruining maps? A tad loopy.

I love this line of thought: "Bungie's taking what I paid for away!"

I'll entertain these wacky notions. So these people that don't pay for DLC content and tally up the amount of playlists available to them and subtract that from the values of the initial playlists. How much value do they add back due to the fact that they have the 3 free heroic maps? Is that worth the same amount as a single playlist?

Because I post like that. IGNORED FOR LIFE.

Oh and thanks for making yourself look like a total idiot by bypassing my point. I never once argued about the removal of playlists from matchmaking. I'm arguing about the restrictions applied to those that are currently ranked and free in matchmaking. But, I guess it's my fault for expecting people on here to have a backbone and a brain which you have NEITHER of.

There is no point in arguing anymore because people like cocopogjoco don't even understand the argument. They just waste their money and garble whatever bungie throws at them. They're too juiced up in their view of bungie that they cant see what is happening. This is only the beginning, if this slides by soon all playlists will be required to have DLC. THEN you will see the real bitching by the fans. Mark my words.

Again more ill-thought posts. I'm not talking about playlists that were initially launched with halo3, or the amount of playlists available to people who don't have DLC now. I never ONCE mentioned that in my posts as an argument. I don't know where people are getting this from but it's rather retarded that this crap is somehow branching off of my argument.

The playlists Bungle is making restricted are NOW CURRENTLY AVAILABLE TO BE PLAYED by people who do not own DLC. In one month they will be restricted. Damnit, if you don't see what is wrong with that then I'm done here. God help you all.

in all seriosness wat r u talking about not only do i agree with u but i am saying that it will get WORSE MUCH WORSE if we dont stop M$ and bungle from removing our playlists like u said this is ONLY THE BEGGINING people soon we will be getting NOTHING for our moneys!!!!!!! we will be paying M$ $60 for games and we wil only b getting 1 playlist that we will be locked out of unles we pay extra more moneys for the 1 playltist

slowly but surley we are getting screwed by bungle and ms removing wat we paid MONEY FOR. IF I PAYED MONEY I DESERVE CONTENT and no 1 here is even undstanting but its happening mark my words its coming like a flooded frate train

lol.

Kevin, all of the maps will eventually become free and once that's the case all of the playlists will be available to everyone. Once that is the case, guess what, it won't be restricted anymore! Imagine that.

You'd probably be part of the group that would think the same thing if you had bought the new maps, but were only able to play them in customs. That's the whole reason for having a DLC playlist.

Luke Smith has made it very clear in this thread that the Legendary pack will never go free. That'll probably hold true for Mythic as well.

That's pretty shit.

I pay for the new maps cause I'm a sucker and like halo, but it's shit.

The end of the world is nigh! The Playlist Armageddon is upon us! Stop blindly following the Bungle Antichrist and revolt!

You are acting like this is some kind of life and death situation involving an oppressive world government or something. It's seriously hilarious... and reminds me of this:

listen nerds. i'm going to give you all the best advice that anyone on this earth can give you. STOP PLAYING XBL HALO. you are ruining your lives. i know this from first hand experience.

go out and live life. get a girlfriend, learn how it feels to fall in and out of love more than the amount of fingers on one hand. go out to parties and get sooo fucking shit-faced that when you crash at your friends apartment you end up passing out on the toilet.

seriously, throughout highschool i played this game and my social life went down the drains. college has opened my eyes to what is out there. its cool to play the game every once and a while but if this shit starts to effect your social life and your GRADES, make sure you drop this faster than the time it takes for a fart to disappear in the wind.
You should probably take your own advice and stop playing XBL Halo.

What is this thread about these days?

It goes from Discussion to Ranting to Bitching to Name Calling to Telling other nerds to stop playing Halo.

Can't we just all get along?

Stop playing Halo, you NERDS

I agree. I always thought it was lame of Bungie to make it so you have to pay extra for achievements.

Tashi0106 said:
nah fuck that. I want them to make the playlists all DLC required.

well same.... since I have them all. buuuut it's not really fair. actually there is no solution really.

Maybe integrate the playlist with all content but people without all content get put in a different invisible 'pool' so they are playing ranked without the maps? Others are playing ranked with the new maps?

I really don't think that not playing on a few diff maps ever would make much difference between 1 level 30 that has all the maps and another level 30 that has no maps.

MIMIC said:

They don't for the original 1000. I think it's MS-imposed; all Gold users must be able to get all 1000 points in a game without paying extra for the privilege (beyond paying a Live fee, of course :P). That's why Lone Wolves will never require any map packs - to allow folks without a hard drive to play and get the original 1000.

fun fact: halo is a game

Yes but a game that apparently soon you will only be able to play on Xbox live for the low price of $.99 per matchmaking experience.
Customs will only be $.20/match so we have that going for us :P

It's pretty well known that microsoft made the original xbox. there isn't as much information available on its predecessor the Xbox360 however.

All jokes aside, we actually do sympathize. Players who plunk down sixty bucks should get great online support and players who go the $60++ route should see dividends from their additional purchases. Proverbial Rock and a Hard Place postin'.
