ultron87 said:So I dunno if this has been brought up yet, but I just had a slight eureka moment over watching the Recon trailer again. Recon takes place immediately after Regret's ship jumps out of New Mombasa on the way to Delta Halo, correct? So this is going to take place primarily during Halo 2's time frame. Doesn't this mean that the primary enemy we get to fight should be Elites, and not Brutes? Because the Brute seizure of power and the elite exile doesn't occur until after the Chief kills Regret.

# In Halo 2 you can see a Combat Knife on the back of an ODST.

No Squad.
No 3rd Person.
Different approach to battles - new twists.

Where are you getting that H3R's Forge has more features? Everything I've read says that it'll be the same as Halo 3's Forge.
Thinking about it, it could be that the new features are limited to just the Recon only maps. Kinda like how the camera effects are limited to just the Legendary and later maps.Expanded multiplayer collection:No Halo experience would be complete without groundbreaking multiplayer content, and Halo 3: Recon gives fans more of what they love. With exclusive new maps and expanded Forge options, Xbox LIVE® Gold members will find more multiplayer content than ever before with Halo 3: Recon.

Oh yeah, I played with recon for the first time, me and my friend. We got so excited it was just crazy, I was so happy I woke up my parents and told them.
Oh, they must have been really happy for you. We like to give recon to those with a story. Have you had any hardships or any stories that show how much you love Halo.
Well I'm not really popular at school. Sometimes I get picked on but I still have friends and I'm not a loser.
Oh of course you're not. Once we get you that recon you'll show those bullies! But do you have any stories that really show how much you love Halo?
Two Betrayals, man. On that note, I'm going through Halo: Combat Evolved on Legendary for the first time, and, well, I bet it's easier on coop... I just finished the encounter on "Halo" where you rescue the first set of Marines/crew (there are four sets of marines/crew on the level) of the Pillar of Autumn and I couldn't even save one; there were just so many Covenant.soldat7 said:Backtracking, when done right, is fine. I don't think any of the Halos have had a problem with backtracking. It makes the levels feel more contiguous.
No, I don't think it did.MIMIC said:That conversation didn't really take place....did it?
There is then a 1 to 2 week background check to see that you're a nice player. It count's how many times you've teabagged and used a mauler with shield doors.

Kay, that's good. You must realize that achievements are the entire foundation of Halo 3 right? Without them there's no point.

What's even worse is that Bungie made me spend $10 on the Heroic maps and then turned right around and made them free 6 months later. Talk about being boned. It seems like they're trying to pull the same stunt once again. Bone me once, shame on you Bungle. Bone me twice...ultron87 said:So if we buy the Mythic Map Pack when it first comes out we are just gonna get boned when we pay $60 (lets not kid ourselves that it'll be cheaper) for Recon aren't we? Because all the Mythic maps are included in it, right, so the price has to be jacked up to include the cost of the maps.
Well I guess I'm just gonna have to wait six months to play those maps, because no way am I gonna buy them twice. Unless of course there's another convenient deal that gets me the map pack for free as I did with the Legendary pack and Circuit City's Ninja Gaiden II pre-order.

I doubt that the price is going to be jacked up because of maps that have been out for 9 months. Seems like a silly assumption to me.ultron87 said:So if we buy the Mythic Map Pack when it first comes out we are just gonna get boned when we pay $60 (lets not kid ourselves that it'll be cheaper) for Recon aren't we? Animal said:I have been playing halo 3 multiplayer on and off for the last year or so at a friends place.
Today I caved in because there are just so many games I want to play on xbox 360. First game I bought was halo 3. I am going through the single player campaign for the first time!
TDG said:I doubt that the price is going to be jacked up because of maps that have been out for 9 months. Seems like a silly assumption to me.
I think you're misguided in thinking that you'll be boned because the maps will be later on a disc. You'll be boned because you won't be able to play those maps in regular matchmaking for a century.
Insaniac said:I know it's called single player, but for the love of god, play it co-op it's so much better.
Dirtbag 504 said:So I read somewhere online today that the Recon campaign will not be available as DLC and instead remain strictly as disk based content... and basically only the mythic maps will be DLC-able.
Is there any truth to this? I heard it somewhere unreliable.
Also, I could picture MS packing the Recon disk with all the multiplayer map packs and charging $60 for it... with justification of it being
$40 campaign expansion + 2*($10 map-packs) = $60
I'm sure MS will try and find someway to charge the most money possible for it. This type of pricing would totally piss me off - as someone who would already have purchased the available map-packs long before this releases.
