So what are the chances that the ODST will never encounter the flood time frame-wise? I know a lot of you were hoping for epic Flood survival scenarios.

Don't the ODST fly these?

A flight mission would be awesome in one of those. I want to take out some Covenant cruisers.

DO WANT

"TO WAR!"

Overall the dialogue was fine, just some occasional corny phrases.

The dialog should rise above 'fine'. I want Terminal-level writing.

I expect much better writing in Bungie's next big game
Marathon. Oh please oh please oh please.

I'd always wanted to do some awesome space battles in the Halo universe.

Hey, is anyone online that wants to do the annual achievement right now? I'm with one other guy (TGA).

I always wanted just one. I thought maybe Halo Wars would give it to us but I think Ensemble ruled it out. Always wanted to fire the MAC gun. The novels detail some great space battles.

Why would crack ground troops be piloting fighter craft? Pilots would be piloting those.

Trasher knows nothing about the Halo storyline, he's afraid of the Flood so he hasn't been able to play past the initial Flood encounters.

lol yeah, you got me there. Just mainly thought of the idea of doing a flight mission and got really excited about it. You are crushing my dreams. :(

If "we all know" that the cut scenes in Halo 3 were bad, what is up with Blood's comment?
No where in my post did I say there wasn't some lame one liners in the game but to say there was NO thought put into the story is retarded. I was a big fan of the overall story in halo 3 though so whatever.

I never said there was no thought put into the story of Halo 3 (like the beginning and ending of "The Covenant," and I already said the Terminals were beautifully written). The terminals, as I see it, is what happens when Bungie puts effort into their writing. I just want quality writing, that of Halo 1 and Halo 2's, that's all.

I don't see how the new expansion would have anything to do with new traditional (judging by Assembly) MP maps being released. There very well may be a connection between the two but I can't see why. Unless ODSTs move and jump like spartans and elites
:(
then I don't see how they'll play into the existing MP arena.

If those maps have been designed for the some new gameplay style of the ODST then why are their achievements so similar. You'd think there'd be some new ODST unique challenges they could have thrown in there instead.

So now that I know for sure Bungie is spending some more time in the Halo-verse and presumably messing around with the ODST, I'm still hoping for a game that feels VERY different. Something like a separate campaign and if they're really going to put two separate MP components in the same game I'd be really surprised. Seems like it would just divide the population even more.
Yes, the Superintendent stuff is a campaign expansion, not a multiplayer expansion. Multiplayer will most likely be left how it is without interference from the new campaign content, regardless of how different it may be.

Actually, I logged on to Xbox.com, and noticed I had no friends at all. I think it's just a bug with the site, but is that normal for that to happen?

EDIT: If someone would check their friends list for me?

Boundless is an extremely awesome map. I love the changes they made. It feels quite fresh and new.

The new teasers and doing the vidmaster challenge last night make me want to play lots more campaign co-op. So much gaming goodness in one day, I think my head is going to explode.
You better want to play co-op again. I still needs my achievement :(

It would be my guess that ODSTs in this extra campaign would be able to run faster given their lighter armor and the need for an advantage like rechargeable shields.

Haha! Yeah, I'm totally down for another run. Maybe it won't take us 2 hours this time. Also, I looked at the stats for that run. Apparently everyone died over 100 times??? Something isn't quite right with that.

Isolation and Construct suck for Squad Battle. That is all.
As soon as Construct loaded up, I decided not to play Squad Battle any longer. That, and the sniper rifles on Heavies Standoff. The default, without them, is perfect. Snipers really break that map, IMO.

Once every one stops racing for Achievements in DLC BTB, I'll be quite happy there.

I died a bunch in the beginning. Then Striker kept diving off the platforms at the end. Probably so.

I dunno, Construct isnt so bad on squad battle? Ive had a few matches on that when my team had been losing and we came back with some nice kills. I don't mind it there for variety, although wouldn't mind the percentage toned down.

Having a sprint ability is certainly viable now.

Yeah playing as an ODST gives all sorts of different options. Maybe they'll bring back the peeking around corners idea from Halo 2 as well. Can't wait for more info.

I think I'm going to watch that live-action short later just to get me hyped:D

EDIT: AND Legendary Brawl is up? Oh sweetness. Definitely going to be playing as much Halo 3 as I can fit in this weekend.

How can a measly sniper break the havoc that are the heavy variants? I don't think I've managed to get off a single snipe with a chopper, 20 lasers, banshee, and the almighty gauss hog roaming around.
The visibility to the entire map from the rear of the base make it a sniper's dream. That, and they snagged our rifle somehow and had two very well protected (and really fucking good) snipers picking us off where ever we spawned, or when we ran out to get into vehicles. We couldn't touch them.

And once again the bnet forums are scattered all over, people loving it and hating it and then you have the random posts that have nothing to do with anything. Always good to check it out for a good laugh. :lol

Not sure how I missed this the first time.

Enjoy this CG-teaser.

Why did they run with CG?

Not sure why, but using the security cameras as the "eyes" of the viewer was cool. It definitely adds a bit of style to the whole thing.

Yeah I'd assumed there were a lot of post effects added, but the stuff showing the city was in-engine. Not sure about that now. If there's a Q&A update that's something I'd like to see clarified.

Maybe we'll get a little bit of an explanation tomorrow or later today.

The entire city was concept art, I'm fairly sure the only things that were "CG" were the UIs and maybe the pod making landfall. The whole thing has more in common with a matte than a CG teaser.
