With H2H I don't think it even needs to go its got a steady 1000 people and you are only FINDING 1 person so you still get matches relatively quickly without making any of the other playlists really suffer.
The best argument for killing it would be that if it's there, you can't just sit and let it rot, you need to be tweaking it constantly, as is done with all playlists, and if you just kill it, then those man-hours can be devoted to better causes.

Like killing Ranked BTB, fixing party issues in Social BTB, adding heavies to Social BTB, and adding a ranked 6v6 playlist. And increasing the amount of BR starts in games.

...And adding a Team Rifles gametype.

Of course, I could be wildly mis-interpreting the situation, but what the heck.

UNIX Assembly Codes Development for Vulnerabilities Illustration Purposes

From pages 12 and 13, respectively:

The processor provides 16 registers for use in general system and application programming. These
registers can be grouped as follows:

- eax, ebx, ecx, edx, esi, edi, ebp general-purpose data registers - 32 bits wide registers that
are available for storing instruction operands and memory pointers,
- cs, ds, ss, es, fs, and gs segment registers - 16 bits wide registers that hold up to six
segment selectors (special pointers that identify a segment in memory),
- eflags status and control register - it reports and allows modification of the state of the
processor and of the program being executed.

eax: accumulator for operands and results data,
ebx: pointer to data in the ds segment,
ecx: counter for string and loop operations,
edx: I/O pointer,
esi: pointer to data in the segment pointed to by the ds register; source pointer for string
operations,
edi: pointer to data in the segment pointed to by the es register; destination pointer for string
operations,
ebp: pointer to data on the stack (in the ss segment),
esp: stack pointer.

When considering the linkage convention used on x86 based operating systems, the following rules
are usually applied:
- eax register usually contains the result of a subroutine/system call,
- ebp register contains the value of a current frame’s pointer,
- arguments to subroutine/system calls are passed to them through general purpose registers
or stack.

From page 10:
gr2 (rp): return pointer register - contains the return address from subro-
utine (the subroutine return call is usually done with the use of
bv,n r0(rp) instruction - the inter-segment jump call through rp
register)...

Could the Superintendent be some sort of AI?

Oh, and if you look in the upper right-hand corner, you can see several different languages being displayed. The first of which seems to be Chinese or Japanese.

I like most of your suggestions, but those gametypes on Snowbound would be laughably broken.
It is practically a symmetrical map and with adjustments to the flag points, it can be a rather diverse and encouraging game.

I think it could be fun. Soldat, believe!

No need to kill Ranked BTB. Its population isn't horrible by any means, and this is including the disparity between ranks. Not our players fault they're so far apart in ranks. Perhaps resetting the rank for it is the best conclusion to a true Ranked big team playlist.

Team Rifles -- I can speak no more. This should be included in Team Slayer.

Finally got around to reading all the new publications. Gotta say I'm a bit let down. Instead of giving us text we get these pdf files that have low ass quality.

The Halo AI Evolution was frankly all over the place and it was very hard to disambiguate. You can tell Damian isn't American just from reading it and probably should have been proof read and polished. Furthermore the short PowerPoint design led to a simplistic nature that was too easy to understand and hardly delved into anything interesting. Just by taking any Marketing class you would completely understand the simplified nature of the Knowledge Model they used already and would learn almost nothing new.

The next two by Dyckhoff were much more concise, to the point, and easy to understand; not too mention easier on the eyes. Still content-wise it didnt get into any of the nitty gritty. It hardly skimmed the surface of what really happens in-game. I want to see much more in-depth details. Not much beyond common knowledge was exposed.

The Technology of Halo article was pretty cool. Although I didn't understand all of it, I enjoyed reading it. It was very technical and if I had a better understanding I'm sure I would be fascinated by it. It is nice to see what their limitations were when creating H2.

Illusion of Intelligence was alright but similar to the Halo AI Evolution and the two by Dyckhoff. Also for being written in 02' it was surprisingly interesting.

So to hold us over Bungie gives us a bunch of pdf's of PowerPoint presentations Bungie employees have created in the past?

Personally I'd rather just see another B.net people ask questions Bungie answers Weekly Update.

Man, the lag lately is just gross. I really doubt this is just an isolated problem, it happens for all of us...we played COD earlier and although it did have lag, it always does, it wasn't unplayable like most Halo games have been for me lately. =\ Anything more than 8=lag city.

I just think that having two BTB playlists is silly, and I'd really like to see RBTB be killed in favor of a much more fun, far more competetive 6v6 playlist.

I'm a programmer, so it was immediately obvious to me that the letters in those images was registers and pointers (as used in assembly language).

I've always thought the SI an AI. Specifically, I think he's a monitor.

I played a lot of this weekend's double XP list (brawl something?) and some games became ridiculously laggy. And it was odd because the connection would be consistent and then everyone would start lagging and disappearing and reappearing in different spots.

Ohh TDG, 6v6 sounds like a great idea. Some of the playlists need an overhaul anyway.

Yeah. The more that I think about it (and looking at the wallpapers we were given on the 7/18 BWU, I think he's an AI as well. Monitor? I need something more conclusive.

I think that would be best.

And I want a permanent Zombies playlist! Rocket Race gets one, so why not Zombies?

Ugh, me too. Every game is almost unplayable.

Thanks for the insight into the assembly language clues. I was convinced SI was a monitor before, but it's even more clear now.

I grow weary of the calls to make Halo 3 even more vanilla.

i do too. matchmaking isn't really a place where you need to perfectly balance everything and suck the fun out of it. if you really want to play that way, play mlg playlist or make/join a clan or go to a tourney.

There was not one game last night that our party didn't get a black screen at some point.

This is almost certainly because someone in your party had an awful connection. I play with a group sort of regularly; we had a night a week or two ago when lag was AWFUL. It was so bad one of our members was accusing the other team of standbying in a couple of postgame lobbies.

I'd finally had enough, and was going to call it quits for the night. I broke off - but decided to play one last game on my own.

TOTALLY lag-free. Turned out later that there was some sort of router problem with one of our members.

True. This can almost always be fixed by everyone signing off live restarting their routers (or even their modems) and then regrouping.

I'm another aboard the lag train.
I've reached total frustration with playing Halo 3 lately. The game has been playing like total ass for while now, I don't know what happened. (Even worse, I have the best connection of our entire group, since every single time we hit theater mode it makes me host the film. So I can't imagine how much worse it is for the rest of you.)

I don't know if there is rampant cheating going up, or a dashboard update that is fucking with live's netcode, but it has ruined the experience for me.

This needs to be addressed soon.

While we are talking playlists updates...

CAN WE PLEASE GET SOME RANKED: 5v5, 6v6
with lighter rank restrictions so we can find some damn matches. It's irritating that a medium to large group of good players can't play any decent matches because no playlist will cater to our numbers vs. rank parity. Instead we have to play social matches only, where half the opposing team usually quits.

There is no reason for ranked 8v8 given the current expected amounts of lag at such numbers. 8 v 8 should be social only.

Ranked:

Team Slayer 4v4
Team Objective 5v5
Big Team 6v6

Social:
Social Slayer 5v5 (4v4 ranked only - giving teams more options)
Social Skirmish 4v4 (5v5 ranked only - giving teams more options)
Social BigTeam 8v8

Its pissing me off that this hasn't been addressed.
You can only play 4v4 ranked, and if you have any decent rank in 8v8 - expect to never find a ranked match or spend 5-10minutes waiting for one.

Come on Bungle!

EDIT:I'm pm'ing this to Luke... doesn't shishka post here to? What is his gaf name so I can pm this post as well.

ive been playing btb a lot recently and one of my least favourite gametypes is sandtrap covies, the main reason being the overwhelming amount of ghosts.

i can't understand why there are so many and have such a fast respawn rate added to the fact that the best weapon for taking out ghosts (the sp laser) isnt on the map!!

btb in general needs fixing. bts isnt as bad because the percentages arnt so bad (dont think its so weighted towards slayer) but alot of poor gametypes like terri(ble)tories and VIP either need removing or fixing. awhile ago some guy posted some adaptions of the modes which would work better and naturally encourage teamwork.

i was wondering, what if they totally revamped the playlists? instead of having general playlists like team slayer and btb, they could make it to match the gametypes themselves. so ya know, slayer, ctf, assault etc.

it would be interesting, but i think the biggest problem would be allocating the player numbers.

All of these good ideas will be completely ignored and we'll get another Legendary Brawl playlist next weekend.

I just want BTB to returned to its former glory. Backin H2, it used to be the king of kings. Then they took it down and it was never the same again : (

Count me in for the idea that we need a ranked 5 or 6 man playlist, doubt we'll get it though.

Who can you count on when you no longer know who your real friends are. Your quick rise in fame has left you with the bends. People sending friend requests just because your recon armor.

Its so hard.

Speaking of which - I could use some help translating this. The message, in its entirety, is:

I thear you

Was he saying "I hear you", as in he agreed with somthing I said in a game? Or I "fear you", like he's scared of me? Or something I haven't thought of?

I think he was saying, "I hear you," as in:

Player 1: "Damn son that Rocket was off the hook!"

Player 2: "I hear you, boy. That shit was unreal."

I love ebonics.

Is this thread really still going? WTF people? The game isn't going to get any better because you guys keep a thread alive. Just accept that the game was not that good and let it (and this thread) die peacefully.

Ghaleon and myself have both been in Mike's thread, this won't work here :lol

Some of you folks were asking why there hadn't been any content on Ascendant Justice recently and Cocop gave you some reason. We should have some solid stuff up there soon, but before then, take a look at our image gallery...we've updated the "Campaign Moments" section with some shots showing just how impressive the visuals are from Halo 3 and how compelling some of the sequences can truly be, even if they're only stills...

I've said this before but I'll say it again. I only play with Eggshell because he has recon.

BTB Covies is bad because it's all about Ghosts.

Nevermind in Covie CTF games there's a Mongoose, a human transport vehicle, and NOT a Prowler. Smart stuff.

Ranked:
Team Slayer 4v4
Team Objective 5v5
Big Team 6v6

No thanks to that. Leave Objective 4v4 and Big Team to 5-8 players.

Avalanche, Sandtrap, and Rat's Nest would be obsolete with 6 players per team.

Seriously, what the hell is going on with the lag lately? BTB is barely playable half the time now.
Holy shit, I played an 8 player system link game today (actually, I played like 100 games). It was... bliss. Except there were maulers all over the map. Ah, those were the days.

But yes, something weird must be going on, lag has been awful recently.

Why do you have such a hard on for the Prowler? It's a really terrible vehicle.
