i just read the 8 years of a.i. very interesting and quite clever as well. i still dream of the day when a a.i will be able to drive a warthog around at full speed.

Super lurker here again....and I have a crackpot theory.

So everybody has seen Bungie's acceptance speech with "The Wall", right? At the end of the video, a bunch of dudes seem to die by mysterious means and Marty says "hey, what happened". Possibly related to the classified medal?

Holy crap its sooo annoying. When I die in the hill, i don't bother going back, i just wait for the new one. It's miserable
 
Crazy King does not require a strategy, it requires lucky spawns. I have no problem with Team King, preferably with 2 or 3 minute hill times, and ordered hills. Even with the crappy default hill locations that would be okay.

Moving the hill to a random location every 30s or minute just leads to undeserving teams getting hill time. It's another example of unnecessary randomness making the game more frustrating for competitive play. Like removing spawn restrictions on Narrows, or having geometry edges bounce your grenades back in your face.
 
In Lone Wolves, Crazy King requires a LOT of strategy. And the strategy is to be inconspicuous as possible (watching everyone else kill each other). Lucky spawns help tremendously, too.
 
Crazy King can be fun in social or customs (although not as much fun as Mosh Pit), but it's not a competitive experience and so shouldn't be in a ranked playlist. That is all.

half the game consisted of either luckily spawning right next to the bubble shield and getting some easy points, or respawning, huffing it to the hill, only to be killed from behind by players spawning behind me, re-huffing it to the hill and then realizing the hill is going to move in about 5 seconds.

Not that king of the hill is necessarily bad, but respawns, weapon placements need to be adjusted, and FFA king is pointless imo.

I agree, it's occasionally fun (it usually isn't, though), but it shouldn't be in ranked playlists, and I doubt that it's good for doubles. It's the only one of the Doubles additions I object to, but I haven't played any of them. Oddball came up once, but the other team quit before the match started because we didn't veto.
 
The name pretty much gives it away that it shouldn't be in Ranked gametypes.

CRAZY KING, crazy means insane in this context. Insane because it moves every 30 seconds to a RANDOM (Randomness = bad ...Tyson Green quote paraphrased) spot.

Especially in the incredibly competitive playlist that is Team Doubles.

But it would have gone good in a Social Doubles, a great playlist that was removed...

The real problem was the 30-second timer for changing where the hill is. It takes longer than 30 seconds to cross The Pit!

Yeah, King is a great competitive gametype but Crazy King is a great game of Bingo.

Default foundry is a stupid map.

because when i play social i love being split up.
Default Foundry is ugly and terrible and should be taken out of Ranked Team Slayer. Same for Last Resort because it's not even a slayer map.

And people call foul over a discussion of AR vs. BR.

I think Social Skirmish has territory stuff like land grab.

and fin I actually like one-sided territories on Last Resort. I'm not a huge fan of slayer last resort just because its set up in a way that makes it much better for objective games like stealing the flag from the base or assaulting the base.
