Check out this weird glitch my friend discovered. Somehow he got jammed in the roof of one of the bases in snowbound and it created these psychedelic effects. Then he figured out how to write messages and add effects to it. It's a bit long but you can watch it in fast-forward, very cool.

Upload it to GameVee.

Very improtant. They couldn't have any impact on gameplay.

Definitely no impact on gameplay. I can't imagine how crappy the game would become if a General's BR was more powerful than a Captain's.

How do I get it from Halo 3 video to Gamevee, it's asking me to upload files from my pc...

Edit: n/m I found it

It's probably going to take 6 years to upload, I recommend finding the time to just DL it to your 360.

Shishka, are there any plans to give Team Snipers its own personal, permanent playlist? Frankly, there are too many shotty snipers/sniper games appearing in Team Slayer and the like.
It appears far too often in Social Slayer, but not so much in Team Slayer.

Still, it's a popular playlist when it's up for Double XP.

They should can Head to Head and bring back Team Snipers.

I really don't see the point in delving into what a player deserves for playing a game. We can say they don't deserve a medal for each time they stumble upon a kill but the same could be said about awarding the team he's on a point which ultimately leads to a victory. The purpose of the basic score points is to motivate people to play as the designers intended it to be played but the same could be said about any award. I'm going to try to stay alive so I can get a spree but I also aid in my team's victory by doing so. Rewards (be it winning a pointless match or getting a sword spree) create a desire to complete a challenge and there-in lies the fun in almost every videogame. Completing tasks that have no real world value.

Adopt a COD4-like system but don't tie it to one's skill.

Aw, but I love Snipers on Ghost Town. I'm so damned good at it.
It can be fun on a lot of maps. The Pit, Last Resort, High Ground, Snowbound (sans spawns), Ghost Town, Blackout, Valhalla, Standoff, Construct, etc.

Remove the radar, please!

Now I know why I don't go into TS playlist. Its full of the worst noobs who are the biggest douchebags in Halo. I just played a game of BR Narrows my team went down 8 points in the beginning so my whole team quit, I decided to play the rest of the game out and I only lost by like 5 points. I can hold my own against an entire team of 40's in TS means they don't deserve their 40's.

Remove all traces of Shotty/Snipes and Team Snipers from Social, DLC, and TS playlists.

Relegate all sniper gametypes to a Team Snipers only playlist.

Please.

So, let's say Bungie adopts a point system. Now what? What are the points used for? They can't be used to unlock armor, emblems, colors, weapons... so what, do the points just sit there? Should they be used for another rank, which would bring the grand total of ranks in Halo 3 to four (which is a totally obnoxious number)?

I'm surprised that I'm the only one, but I hope that for the major changes Bungie leaves alone gimmicky point systems, and sticks to making the actual gameplay experience better. Gameplay, not the bullshit that surrounds it.

You're not the only one. There is no point in adopting a point system if it doesn't add to the gameplay in any significant way, or betters what is already there.

I will agree that it's hard to retrofit something like that onto something that wasn't designed that way. COD 4 works because it was designed that way. Halo works a different way because it was designed that way. I sorta believe that once you committ in the direction you are committed and they should just have a complete redesign of the system for whatever is the next halo game whether it be the tactical one or whatever is the next halo. Even changing the experience system like they are trying to do now seems a bit odd to me since everybody is used to the way it was.

Remove Oddball on Snowbound in LW. Game requires no skill and the winner is strictly based on who gets the best spawns and can sit behind a bubbleshield/shield door the longest.

I know because I was just down, I had 0 seconds the 1st place dude had 42 up to 50. I spawned grabbed a bubble shield grabbed ball because everybody else had just died going after the clusterfuck that is the ball and a mass of grenades and AR. Grabbed it tossed down the bubble shield got a triple beatdown, a double beatdown. Bubble shield expired and then I stood down by the little side shield door and hit 50 points getting another double ball beatdown. I did absolutely NOTHING a monkey couldn't have done to win that game.

shield doors are apart of the halo 3 TRUE GAMING experience

I agree. The main reason COD4 works is that the point system is very carefully tied into the experience. It doesn't appear that there's any good way to tie a point system to the Halo 3 multiplayer experience, outside of adding a fourth(!) rank.

I don't believe that Bungie will add a point system to Halo 3, and that's a good thing. Who knows, maybe they'll choose to go down that path with future games, but that's just not the direction they chose to go with Halo 3.

I'm a big Oddball fan, but I've got to agree with this.

Big Oddball fan too. Not so much FFA but in teams I'm all about it. I mean how are you supposed to skillfully hold a ball while defending against 5 other players. I don't see how that is skill. But if you have a team thats using its positioning to defend the ball in an area thats what I'm talkin bout!

Ok but lets say Bungie used these new "Awesome Points" for an existing 'genre' of rank like adding extra EXP.

Maybe Bungie can change the way the MVP of each round is chosen. If you get the most Awsome points you get MVP. How about just breaking down how MVPs are calculated? Does anyone actually know? Seems like who gets the most kills. If you get MVP you get an extra +1EXP extra. All through Awesome Points.

I don't see how anything negative can happen to Halo 3 by adding Awesome Points. Like everything else in Halo 3 some of the community will take advantage of it and find loop holes. All it would be doing is manipulating existing data taken during the match from the postgame lobby and displaying it again in a new way. I would be happy with a extra blade in the postgame lobby showing: who got the most Awesome Points, for what, and who gets the extra EXP and or MVP. Totally meta.

Honestly, I'd rather everything be turned off. No TruSkill Rank or EXP. Maybe just a counter saying how many games you've played and how many you've won and lost.

:lol Yeah, there's really no skill involved in oddball (except for the first few seconds--I wait for everone to kill eachother, then rush for the ball) The best games are when you're in either 4th or 5th place, then come out of no where and hold the ball for 30+ straight seconds for a win.

Ok so another cool forged map these people showed me. Its called Tourny. Its foundry divided into 4 quarters and you play with 8 people. Two people spawn in each quarter and spar off The winner waits til a staircase spawns them in which they fight the winner of the other quarter on their half, from there another staircase spawns where the half-winners battle for the win. First to 5 wins wins.

So awesome.

Yeah, I've played that a lot. Lots of fun.

Oh no, I was thinking about Bungie's future projects. They're pretty much stuck with what they've got right now in Halo 3.

In their next projects I want to be able to unlock new emblems, armor skins, armor permutations
aka different variations of flight
, etc. While some may say "why should you get something for playing when playing should be the only attraction" but I say fuck them. I want to show the world that I have 500 chopper splatters with my exclusive chopper texture tattooed on my elite's (bicep?). It just gives players more customization and a chance to have something of their own (hard to get rewards). Those that don't enjoy this reward system can play as they wish because they won't be handicapped for ignoring it and those receive more value out of it can enjoy it as well. It's not like such an undertaking on Bungie's part will have to take the place of, lets say, latency. They can just throw it in there
I know it isn't that easy
and continue their work.

How many people still have (even remember) their first film clip they every made?
My first one was no-scoping a friend of mine after getting hit by a fusion-coil.

I love FFA oddball, it's like this mad rush, just running, setting up traps, timing how you enter a room to mop up. It's not as much zone control and aiming as a team game, but you get more crazy 1 vs. world ninja moments. We played so much FFA oddball back in college (Halo 1 and 2) and a few rounds at my bachelor party in 3.

sorry for this offtopic question, but this doesnt really need its own thread,

Im trying too change my gamertag on XBL, I have enough points, but when I change it, it says it is in use already? But I know that the 2 I have tried are not because I checked online, and I also tried adding them as a friend. any help? :(

Is one of them Urk the Red, by chance?

My first clip was taken on a map with a bunch of immovable spartans, pretty sure it was modded, not sure how I escaped the banhammer there.

My second was an FFA overkill, much more worthy ;).

I agree this would be a fun way to go but then how do you get around the fact that people play only for those chopper kills until they get that emblem. I kinda breaks the game when someone will only use a chopper because they unlock something. Gears had something similar to that and it boiled down to people being pissed someone stole there curb stomp kill or whatever. Not that you would know......Gears hater :P

Single player: My friend and I attempting a mongoose run on the final level.
Multiplayer: Lasering a banshee on on Valhalla.
It was Shishka, so it was kind of a Halo nerd accomplishment for me, for some reason.

My first "saved film" was showing up in a 1up video of the Halo 3 Beta before it released to the public, via the F&F invite. I was riding on the back of a Mongoose shooting the AR at...nothing. I was just shooting to see how it looked, and that ended up in 1up's preview video. :lol

"Laser Splatter" I believe, and it's still on my fileshare.

Lone Wolves, Slayer, SPLasered a guy in a Ghost on High Ground as he was boosting away to the beach. A piece of the destroyed Ghost then fumbles foward and kills another player that just spawnd around there(after I killed him a few seconds earlier), and that counted as a Splatter for me. Thought it was pretty damn funny; got like 4 or 5 medals just from that one shot, iirc.

Long time, guys. Haven't played with any of you in a while(well, except for Nutter like a week ago).
