If you see no jaggies you have to be blind. I did a quick singleplayer picture with my digicam it's spoilerfree and shows nothing of interest. It's just to show how bad the jagies are compared to all the screens which show none at all:

That's what destroys alot of the beuty in levels with alot of vegetation imo.
I have a HDTV (edit: connected via VGA at native resolution) too and I had no problem with jaggies in the beta. How high is your sharpness?

What in gods? That looks horrible compared to what I saw.

Maybe it's a non-native resolution thing? What cables are being used? HDMI/Component at the standard 720p/1080i/1080p settings, or VGA at the EXACT resolution of your display?

Its not just me right?? Really I'm not trying to call anyone a liar or anything. I don't know if theres something wrong with the settings on the tv thats being played on or what, but my copy of the game looks nothing like that. Remotely.

The beta had a good amount of jaggies for me. In GOW you can't see anything (despite not even having AA as far as I know) but it was pretty evident in Halo.

How is splitscreen in 4:3? I thought Bungie specifically forced the aspect ration to be 16:9?
In the beta, it output a 5:4 image for me at 1280x1024. It didn't look natively rendered at that resolution. Maybe they were doing nonsquare pixels or something in a 720p image and then stretching it?

It's not always that bad (it seems like the game has selective AA or whatever), but I get the same jaggies too on both on my tv and my capture card.
I wish I could show that in screenshots, but MS would send their ninjas.

If the game looks like that then a patch needs to be released immediately.

Uh, you guys weren't believing the screenshots which showed no jaggies at all were you? AA isn't highly implemented in almost every console game this generation. If you're seeing a screen with no jaggies at all, it's a bodgy. This is why people say 'I didn't know this game has 16xAA turned on!' in screenshot threads.

Yes, Halo 3 has jaggies, along with almost every other game on the 360, this should be known from the multiplayer beta.

It's a 1080p Samusung HDTV with a native resolution of 1920×1080. My Xbox is connected via component and set to 1080p. I don't see where there fault there could be ;)

Is it even possible to release an AA patch? And that's the only bad screenshot I've seen. I played the Beta on an HDTV and never noticed jaggies.

Nice. People say the graphics look beautiful, and then people say the graphics are shit, and post pics that look like 1997s, Carmageddon.

Who to believe.

Should be. They released a Saint's Row patch that turned V-Sync on, I don't see why they couldn't do an AA patch.

Well duh...

I didn't expect none at all but they are pretty bad.

The graphics are good, models, lighting, etc. its just the AA thats screwed.

Idk, GaleonEb saw this running on IMAX theater without narry a jaggy. Imax screens tends to magnify that sort of stuff.
It does vary. With the Ninja Gaiden Sigma demo TTP had horrible jaggies on his screen (based on his pics) but they were nowhere near that bad for other people.

I am sure Halo 3 has jaggies, but we have also screens posted by people from the game using the Saved Films feature and they look good. Infact, Graphics IS going to be the place where Halo 3 will lose most points in the reviews.

Also, I can see jaggies in every game if I zoom all the way in.

My LG olevia screen is awesome with IQ. None of the games I play has jaggies. Even the ones in MOHA becomes unnoticeable after a few seconds of playing.

I just turned on the game again to make sure I'm not crazy. While you can certainly see jaggies in some places, it is nowhere near as bad as that screenshot posted earlier, its not obscene or even really noticeable. I had to look for it, so it certainly isn't something that affects gameplay or my enjoyment.

Maybe it does vary a lot and depend on your set up.

Either way, anyone who doesn't play this because they see too many jaggies is off their rocker. Either get your set up straightened out or man up, because the game is godly.

That's because those have AA. It's like with Gran Tourismo replays. The screens and videos look better. The cutscenes looks fine too.

I remember somebody before saying "There is no extra Legendary ending"

and on that topic (I will clarify on the above statement)

There is indeed a small extra ending like all the other parts, and it is definitely worth it

My setup is fine. I play alot of games on it and it's definately Halo 3s fault. Warhawk has better AA than Halo 3. :lol

Yeah, I agree. Jaggies are insignificant. But I did have jaggies in the beta. The trees looked a bit like razors.

but i have a new tv now!

Maybe it's my halo blinders, But I feel the graphics in halo stack up against the best thats out there. They're just different thats all. You can't seperate scale when talking graphics either.

Just to play the devil's advocate, I'm not sure how accurately screenshots saved on your Bungie thing reflect the actual game. If I were Bungie, I'd have servers rendering people's screenshots in 1080p with 16xAA to make it harder for critics to find fault with the graphics. Of course, the actual game when played does not do 1080p with 16xAA, so.

Screens are doctored. I can show you the ones I did. They look fine. :lol

Bungie wake up..patch this POS :lol

honestly im hoping it my setup, i have a 42 inch toshiba 1080P using an elite over hdmi.

Yes, because adding FSAA to a tightly optimized game is as easy as clicking the "ADD 4X FSAA" checkmark when you're ready to compile the game, and someone at Bungie forgot
