Once again, thanks to Kibbles (much love, *fist pound*), I am able to present to HaloGAF and the rest of the world, four more sick videos currently in my fileshare.

First, I present a pretty solid double kill that I got while playing MLG TS on Guardian.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T0DHzMoJ-oE&fmt=18

A little extermination that I had in 3v3 on Narrows.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SxInhsx1Xuo&fmt=18

This one happened yesterday. I Dax01ed the guy with my AR and smacked him over the other team's base.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9z6tDgG4F8k&fmt=18

And finally, a disgusting no scope that I had on a guy on Eazy's favorite map.

Enjoy!

some filthy clips there.

IHOP sounds good. When you're down drowning your sorrows in syrup, you want to hop on? Striker will be on soon.

IHOP was good. They are giving out free pancakes until 10 pm (for the west coasters).

Sorry, travelling for work so I'm away from my xbox until Thursday probably.

The sad thing is I've got Halo Wars sitting right here that I had to review and all I want is the maps and the MS UK people don't have any codes left... I think I'm gonna buy the Halo Wars LE anyway. I hate my consumerist ass.

A Forge n00b question. I've never actually built a map through to adding spawn points.

Do I need to place spawns separately for each game type? I ask because I put down starting spawns while in CTF editing mode, and they (naturally) don't show up in others. But when in the "All Gametypes" window, starting spawns are not even an option, just respawns. So I'm not sure if I need to place them for each game type individually or not.

Also, my daughter calls spawn points "life plates", because they look like plates and that's what give you an "extra life". So this is really a question about life plates.

Here is my first Crypt based map. It is called Kulkukan. I'll be headed to bed here shortly since I am not feeling well, so I won't be able to test it with any of you tonight. It should work with Slayer, Oddball, CTF, and KotH. If any of you try it out tonight, any feedback would be appreciated.

VERY nice, checking it out now. :D

[edit] I just got a message saying the Mythic DLC Playlist was up on the mainmenu, I got all excited... only to find it not there. I'm assuming Thursday though, is that a correct assumption?

You bastard, on both accounts. Free pancakes and traveling. We'll miss you :(

Starting spawns are what determine the initial starting point when the game begins. They are unique between all game types. Each team will spawn at its respective starting spawn, and teammates will spawn at the nearest respawn points.

Respawn points are shared through all game modes. You want to use those. A map should only have 2 starting points, for each team (Attackers, defenders) , add more, if you plan for your map to properly support additional teams (like multiteam, for example)

Yeah looks like I'll be going to the B&M next week to get my LE copy instead now...

You do know the tricks of buying cheap games with crappy shipping online right?

Buy the game on release in-store then return the online copy with the store's receipt.

Cheaper game and you play it on time :D

Oh hey, I've been meaning to ask:

How do you geomerge things on maps like Standoff or Sandbox where there are no shield barriers or weird doors?

I don't think anyone replied to this, so I'm relentless quoting myself in hopes of pity. :D

Also, Ghaleon, I imagine that you can't fly the banshees / hornets under your map, right?

what do you mean, geomerging with the terrain? I don't understand why you'd need shield doors or whatever to do that, just immovable objects

Ah. Just so I'm clear - I just need one of them for each team, and the rest of the team will spawn around that one in the respawns? That'll make tomorrow - when I hope to finish up - go a LOT faster.

yes, but only for the start of the match. For the rest of the game, players will respawn only on respawn points, as determined by the game engine.

edit: I take that back, the starting point probably counts as a respawn point too, but for the rest of the game, it only works as a regular respawn point

Thanks. I've got the respawns on each base set to Attacker and Defender, respectively, and the rest to Neutral.

And I'll delete the eight starting spawns I put in each base since there's a ton of respawns there as well. :lol

Welp, I guess the Halo Babies haiku contest closed while I was sleeping... Never got a chance to post mine. Here it is for posterity/amusement:

Here on Avalanche,
The two Hornets go flying.
Brr, it's bitter cold.

Here's some action shots of my map, thanks a lot guys for playing it so much tonight. I'll have a map overview with pics and descriptors once I get things more finalized.

Fun games tonight again, fellas.

Eazy's map works pretty damn well.
Thanks, I was really surprised the map worked as well as it did for not having tested any of it (choke points, weapon placements, spawns, objectives). I've made a not to look at tweaking some stuff like nerfing the top and expanded base exits.

Dax01 said:
So I guess you didn't make like that intentionally, right?
It's 4:30 am PST, Ghal. YOU SHOULD BE SLEEPING.
I didn't, though in hindsight I don't want the vehicles to go under because I didn't want them to have a place where they could fully hide aside from the back of the base. The vehicles will be very powerful on the map, so I want a team to be able to take them down through coordination even if they lose control of the power weapons.

Tonight I made some large tweaks to the cover near the bases (more), added about 70% of the respawn points, added a shotty/active camo to each team and got the objectives for Assault, Territories and KoTH up and running (CTF works already). Tomorrow, finish spawn points including starting spawns and then I'll put'er in the file share so it can be abused.

I just woke up. I was coming down with a cold and while I slept it took a NASTY turn, so my throat hurts like hell and I can't breathe out of my nose. So I'm having a glass of tea to clear the throat up and a bowl of cereal so I can take some Nyquill and hopefully breathe well enough to crash again. So. Miserable.

:( Sorry to hear that, Ghal.

awwww the little ones grow up so fast =')

Feel better soooon, Ghal ><

On a slightly more Halo related note, I've been realizing that forge is kinda difficult when you're building on-the-fly. :< I have several map ideas, but i can't figure out how to make 'em ><

came here to say you guys are supreme JERKS but at least I only have to wait 5 more days...

hey any word on how big the Mythic pack is? 600MB or so?

Domino Theory said:
~330MB.

For those who don't have a Mythic Map Pack code yet... might want to check HBO next week by yours truly.

;)

Is it going to completely overload the forums again?

I fear my awesome suggestions got completely lost in a sea of unoriginality.
