There probably should be more plasma grenades places in the snow in the outer marks of the map. Not by the turrets, but at least some place outside the top base area.


The Ghost isn't a problem on the map Snowbound. It's the shield doors and players using them as camping spots is.
 
That really sucks urk. So does that mean that they have your credit card info as well? They may start buying loads of MS points on the account.

The good news is that they only have the last 4 digits of his CC but the bad news is unless he canceled his account they could start charging stuff.

Believe it or not those who social engineer must have some background information on you in-order to steal you account. Either that or they pose as the phone rep's manager and scare them in resetting your password for them.

This stuff isn't new. AOL had been dealing with this for 10 years and never admitted there was a problem. I'm sure Microsoft will just do the same.
 
Urk, I know a guy who could probably help you get your account back (this is the same guy who helped ash55, a Bungie forum ninja, get his account back). But I won't go any further unless Luke gives the go ahead since I'm pretty sure he's working on getting your account back right now.

I probably don't qualify as a GAFfer, but it ALMOST happened to me - blind luck that it didn't.

I got some weird message on XBL about logging in from too many places; I IMMEDIATELY changed the password, then called support.

They confirmed that someone had recovered the account a few minutes earlier, but wouldn't give me any information about it - said they weren't allowed to divulge that. The changed password seemed to catch them before they'd done anything with the account.

That was about 3 months ago - nothing since then.
 
the only thing that sucks is that if there was a way for people to get account info other than phishing, MS wouldn't say anything about it until they've fixed it.

I want to once again wonder why anybody would go to such insane lengths for armor for a game character.

The other thing that bothers me is that these people completely miss the point. The armor isn't even that nice (if they were after pretty armor they should be hax'ing accounts with the flight helmet), it's symbolic of being a great member of the Halo community. If these assholes want it so much, what they really should be doing is trying to improve the Halo experience however they can. Sadly, they've really missed the memo on this one, and feel that endless stalking and nagging of Bungie employees/ people with recon will get them somewhere. Very unfortunate.

I finally got around to trying this tonight. The instructions are:

>>>Step 5: Now that your video is on Gamevee, you have get the .flv file from the website. To do this enter this link http://www.gamevee.com/flvcontroller/index/ and at the end put in your video ID which can be found HERE. So for example the final link would be http://www.gamevee.com/flvcontroller/index/38383 (the numbers are just an example not an actual video.) Copy your new link in your web browser and it will take you to a page that looks like THIS. Now copy the first link that shows up and paste it in your browser. Your .flv file should start downloading.

The only problem is, when I paste in the video ID, I get a blank page with nothing displayed at all.

So this: http://www.gamevee.com/flvcontroller/index/427866

Is a giant sheet of white, nothing else.

Any ideas?

There's a tool you can download with firefox that makes saving videos from Gamvee (or any similar video feed) extremely easy and painless. I forgot who showed it to me and I'm not at my computer right now so I can't check what it's called; but it's worth checkin out.

That's the thing. I would love to see people get through the level in other ways then what I designed it for. It's just last time I made the mistake of having a Bruteshot, Hammer and nades on the map. These made it very easy for people to jump over things I thought were un-jump-able. So now there is only one set of rockets on the map now.

Errr, I didn't actually know it was a standalone program. I can only vouch for the Firefox add-on.

Edit: Errr, I'm not actually sure if it's a standalone program.
 
Just a quick question: if you buy your PAX registration tickets after August 1st, will they still be mailed? Or do I have to pick them up at the PAX convention when it starts?

Speaking of Rock Band 2. If they got the Ion Drums there be sure to test them out for me. They're real electric drums that work in RB2.
 
got my pax badge in the mail over the weekend. three days of bliss here I come. kinda sucks that we have to exit the building and cross the street to get the annex. I hope some of those panels have decent sized rooms this time (doubt it). I wasn't able to get into some because they were filled to capacity.
