I think something happened to urk (either that or it's just something I'n unaware of).

He removed me and several other gaffers from his XBL friends list. I hope his account didn't get hijacked. :(

And it won't let anyone send his GT a message because it'll say "please enter a valid GT"
 
I had my copy stolen from me on a plane trip. I didnt think i would miss Halo3 that much but its all my friend back home play. Im trying to find a copy but everywhere i look its at leats 40 used. *Arg* Rebuying a game is tough.

Just did some cleaning of the GAF Halo 3 list, trying to make some room for newbies. If you're reading this and got removed PM me on GAF. Basically if you haven't been online in 20+ days I'll remove you. If you're on Live Silver same thing. But if you want back in, like I said, just drop me a PM on GAF.

Finally, if I've played with you and you're dropping the n bomb or any other racist shit and/or being obscenly stupid you're cut. If you're acting like that you're gone never coming back.

I can't stand the Carbines and there shouldn't be ANY weapon down below. Sprinkle BRs around the map, remove the splazer, and make sure that BOTH sides have snipers.

And no shotgun, mauler, or sword. Or ghost. But maybe a Wraith...

Did you send me a friend request because I'm almost certain I denied you. You'll have better luck if you attach a message to FR because playing with the likes of Ram and Eggs el attracts a lot of undesired FRs.

Well still, you'd be wise to say you're from GAF if you send a FR. I believe the best gamertags to hit up if you wanna get involved are GAF Halo 3 and Eggs L.

Yeah, someone got their grubby mitts on my passport ID and password and recovered the account in some dirty hovel that undoubtedly reeks of skid marks and sweaty incestuous relations.

I doubt they cracked the password. More likely they called up Passport/Windows ID and were given the keys to my secret treasure chest. Maybe they'll call me or send a letter to my residence!

What's really amazing is how difficult it is to catch someone who's just stolen an account. It's really unacceptable. It's this sort of thing that makes me wish MS didn't let people change their account name.
That and what happened to Omlet's account

Wish ya the best of luck, Urk. IIRC Insaniac never got his account back but Bungie gave him recon again. Hopefully this fucker doesn't get away.

Anything users can do to protect against this, other than have a strong Windows Live ID password (and hope MS support doesn't give the account away to some cretin)?

What kind of info does MS Support ask for that gives the caller the necessary info? I feel like doing a Sean Hannity investigation and report on how easy it is to steal Egg L's account.

They can try to shake me from the support line with their horrible techno music, but my will is strong. The worst part is that every twenty seconds or so, there's a pause in the audio and I think maybe, just maybe, they're ready to pick up. But no. The wait goes on.

Like urk said, I'm sure that they way that folks are doing this is by social engineering the MS support people.

My password is uncrackable, but this sort of thing still makes me worried. I'd be super pissed if I lost my account, since I love having the name "Cocopjojo" without having any numbers or anything at the end of it, and I also like having my 19,000+ gamerscore.

I don't understand why you can't call MS and give them your CC#, SS# and have them check the history on your account to see what's been done to it. They should be able to see that your password has recently been changed via the MS support team and not a normal change online.

What if an employee is in on this and it's not social engineering. Just someone on the inside with access to everyone's account.
