Maybe we should fill Lukemz PM box with this brilliant idea.

Excuse for my supreme ignorance, but who exactly is LukeSmith? Obviously he works for Bungie or something, but I'm kind of out of the loop. :lol

So, what's a respectable campaign kill count? I'd like to do my part. I'm currently at 4,145.

24,764.

I went through a long period where i didn't have a microphone and had no desire to play multiplayer. It was eventful.

Luke Smith is a janitor in the employ of Bungie. He uses his master hypnotic skills to hang around the offices and pretend to be an employee.

Damn straight it would. :lol

Heck, take it up a notch. If they are on a team, give that team Recon. If they are in a FFA game, give everyone in the game Recon.
To the PM-mobile!

Dax, you'll want to wash it first.

Man, if it was confirmed Recon was on the line, I'd never stop play campaign until the number was reached. Epic marathon playthrough confirmed.

The hell? How did you get it?

EDIT: Whoops, sorry about the double post.

Why would I want to do that? Knowing that Lord GhaleonEB has worn the armor, to clean it would be considered sacrilege.
Edit:
And besides, I want to know what you smell like.

If Bungie were to offer Recon as a prize for the person who gets the 7 billionth kill before 7/7, I'm sure that would get a hell of a lot of people moving.

Well, judging from the obscene levels of interest on the B.net forums, we'd be getting 14.5 mil per hour instead of per day.

...But I think Bungie wants us to hit it without stooping down to that level.

Quick, someone with "Heroic member" status on B.net, take the wheel of the rumor mobile!

Excuse for my supreme ignorance, but who exactly is LukeSmith?

PR dude, or something to that nature.

I think I'll play through the whole game tonite. Except of course any level that wont load. Its random for some reason I can play Ark and Cortana and sometimes I can't.

I feel bad for Wideload games :( HTTC got 3.5/10 and yesterday there was a thread when one guy was seriously the only real buyer, (the others were either testers or people who worked on the game). For anyone not in the know, Wideload was founded by ex-Bungie employees, including the co-founder of Bungie.

Latest Campaign Statistics for DancingJesus
Enemies KIA 10394 (#538)
Friendlies Lost 1299 (#1234)
Campaign Missions 101 (#798)

140 Mil Ain't no thing but a chicken wing.

I'm sure its been mentioned somewhere but people are changing their emblems to 7 in Halo 3 for the 7th if anyone wants to join in.

Also for the guys who are hoping for Recon read this post I made earlier: Disappointment

Alex Seropian? Why can't he just come back to Bungie?

I'd like to personally thank the person at Bungie who put the attic in The Pit. Brilliant design decision. Simply superb.

If I may make one suggestion, why not add a few plasma rifles and spikers up there? I feel like it would really help widen the sandbox feel of The Pit.

It is a pretty odd choice.

Especially when the opposing team in doubles snipers camps up there after dying.

Sure, we kept getting one....and the other would respawn up there. Much fun was had. :(

:lol at Ghaleon's used suit.

That would cheapen the accomplishment. Getting 7b kills is absolutely amazing regardless of which day the milestone is reached. If Bungie were to bribe the community with something like Recon than that number would no longer be a testament to how fuck-awesome the campaign is, only more proof that people will do anything for recon.

Maybe, but it's kind of moot if the deadline isn't met to begin with ;)

I finally got to play with one of my good friends last night and what fun it was! Spent an hour just watching vids and taking pics of the match.

I've gotten back into playing after almost a year off and am looking for some people to play with. If anyone wants to add me, my GT is Drakken688. I've mainly been playing Team Swat lately.

I love how we're getting new people in this thread. No offense, but it gets really stale when it's just the same seven assholes posting.

I change the shower curtains in the executive bathroom. This month is floral to commemorate the summer season.

Am I one of these "new people"? :O

Agreed, thank god for Dax.

Ram, you gunna puss out again tonight? :P

I was just thinking guys doesn't it say that anything missed on Bungie Day wouldn't be able to be downloaded at a later date? That could shoot a bit of a hole in our Cold Storage for free on Bungie day theory :(

Hahaha, I bet you have a flight version GIF of every popular GAF GIF in existence. :lol

Pretty sure that only applies to the themes and pics. Mullet Marty is never leaving my side...:P

No. It says the gamerpics and theme will only be available on Bungie Day, as they were last year. :p

What matters most to you though is that we have a tradition of offering some treats to our fans on this special day. This year, we will continue the tradition with another set of FREE exclusive gamerpics and a dashboard theme from Xbox LIVE Marketplace. These items are only going to be available for one day so mark your calendar now. If you miss them on 7/7, they are gone forever.

Also, in case anyone missed this post from Luke in the other thread.

On the contrary, time corrected (so same place in their respective lifespan) graphs of Halo 3's daily population vs. Halo 2's daily population have been consistently (and remain so) double Halo 2's numbers. Blame higher broadband penetration, more people on Live, whatever, for this startling (to you) statistic.

I was having a romp on the seventh level of Halo 3 entitled "The Covenant" earlier when I began to take seriously what I have been noticing all along yet refused to acknowledge the possible significance of: the "stains" that appear throughout the course of events on the Ark in Halo 3.

At first I thought the stains were limited to Forerunner structures.

Then on my way out I noticed a stain on the dirt.
107rw5z.jpg

At this point I am wondering if the stains are only limited to this level (seeing as how I never truly paid any attention to them) and thus started up the sixth level of Halo 3 "The Ark" from Rally Point Alpha.

I found a rather large stain just outside the structure leading to the Cartographer of The Ark.

And some directly inside. As you can see, these stains have more parts of them that are black than the those found in "The Covenant."

Here, an anomaly happens. After allowing for my marine companions to cross the chasm via the activation of the light bridge, I had the sudden urge to go back into the room I had just vacated. Once back in the room, I notice that all the stains are gone.
So you have a means through which to compare, the following images are of the exact same locations as the three images above.

I am still uncertain as to whether or not this is a glitch or, as ludicrous as this may be, The Ark "cleaning" itself, slowly but steadily. I am leaning more towards the former than the latter.

Further investigation seemed to imply that the sentinels had some relationship with the stains, or may be the direct cause of the stains themselves.

2eyz3gg.jpg

By this time I am not ruling any single thing out. The stains could be at the fault of The Covenant in some way, the sentinels, and what at the time seemed to be the most unlikely cause, The Flood. I know that these stains were put here for a reason or otherwise they wouldn't be here, and with that, I know they must be important.

So I am playing through the rest of "The Ark" when I realized the possibility of finding the stains in the first Halo game ("Halo: Combat Evolved"). And if my search were to yield the same, even similar, results, then I could make some head-way.

These shots were taken from "The Library." Please, forgive the image quality.

Similar no doubt, but exactly the same? I am still not quite sure. So to see if I could get any more clarification, I decided to closely examine the "blood" of The Flood. Most of the time when you melee a Flood Combat Form or Flood Carrier Form, "blood" comes out. Here's what it looks like:
jawhso.jpg

As you can see that this "blood," along with the decomposition of its surrounding Flood forms, over time, can result in the stains we see throughout the two levels that we are on the Ark.

With all of this, I introduce the possibility that the Flood was on the Ark some point in time prior to the events of Halo 3. Though, I am still not ruling out The Covenant as the direct cause of the stains due to the simple fact that the stains are present everywhere The Covenant is stationed. The sentinels seem to be least likely responsible for the stains because wreckage of a sentinel can not be found near each stain that appears throughout the two Ark levels. Though, the sentinels do fit in with the Flood theory because the sentinels were designed to combat the Flood and it makes sense to find some sentinel wreckage near, if they are Flood, stains. Of course the Flood theory has a couple of holes in it as well. Most prominently that the Terminals make no such mention of the Flood ever reaching the Ark in any form or manner.

A couple of notes:
1. Obviously the pictures shown here are not the only locations in which you can find the stains.
2. We all know the Flood first came (during the events of Halo 3) to the Ark in the middle of the level "The Covenant." So, this rules out the possibility that the stains were caused by The Flood during the events of Halo 3 and not before because you can find stains in the level "The Ark."
3. This place was the only Forerunner "hallway" in which I could not find any stains.
2qm3jb8.jpg

However, the "hallways" that hold all 7 holographic projections of each Halo ring, which immediately proceed the above hallway, are covered in stains. How strange.

Phew. *Wipes sweat from forehead.*

My theory is that it's a memory issue. The stains make sense once the Flood show up in those areas - as they do - but the game could only stream in one iteration of the floor textures.

What a lame explaination.

I can't say you didn't put effort into this one Dax. And that's all I'm gunna say.

If only there was a thread devoted to screenshots in Halo 3. Oh wait, there is. I get that you are trying to explain something, but the screenshot thread would still have been a better choice for that particular post.

You obviously don't know who you're fucking with. Dax posts when he wants to, where he wants to, and as frequently as he wants to.

Not really. He is asking questions about the Halo 3 Campaign and is providing us pictures for assistance. The picture thread is really for random pictures or showcases and the sort.
