Quarterly reports for Nintendo and Sony are only a couple of weeks away and Xbox will be way behind the other two. Vgchartz estimations are pretty accurate these days due to them only updating sales when Circana, European and Japan data is available. for April+May they have NSW: 2.80m, PS5: 2.44m and XBS: 0.71m. For June PS5 will get a bump due to FFXV, NSW will remain steady and Xbox will continue to sell poorly. My prediction for FYQ1 is NSW: 4.10m, PS5 3.90m and XBS 1.10m. This may be the last time that Switch outsells PS5 in a quarter although PS5 could still ship more due to Sony wanting to flood retailers with inventory since in their last report there was only a gap of 2.5m between sold through and shipped.

I think (and I"m hoping) by the time MS shut COD away from all those PS players, the series will be much less significant. I think the decline already started with the last game. And the rumour about the next one sounds like it'll do long term damage to the brand.

(I've always wanted COD to be a less dominant franchise, years before Acti-Blizz buyout).
That's what I've been thinking. Activision basically put all of their developers on COD, they were in a bad long term position as soon as they rolled Vicarious Visions(and others) into COD development.

They put all their eggs in one basket and only have one franchise that is stable(as of now). They don't have the talent to make good Tony Hawk or Crash games. They only can make good remakes but no one cares about original content in those franchises because they don't compare to the originals.

Just fyi, seems to me that the totals for switch and Xbox don't match the numbers you've put in the columns, albeit slightly

Wait, Spain prefers Playstation? Who would have guessed that, it's only been like that since the beginning of time?! Stop the presses!

Very few PS5 Digital Edition units being sold for some reason. Are Sony not shipping them at all!?

Even more strange is this stupid rumor of removable disk drive. People love the disc version because PS4 is a huge sucess in his time. PS5 disc version is far more superior due to work with both physical media and digital, not to mention UHD bluray.

Replaying PS4 games still a thing.

And some people are worried that now with ABK MS would have a monopoly :messenger_tears_of_joy:

We have to remember that in the whole EU the split is 80%-20% according to MS. Outside USA and maybe Mexico (at least in the past Mexico was one of the most pro Xbox countries) it's being a blood bath.

Shooters are specially popular in the USA, and Sony is now betting in many 1st and 2nd party shooters. I assume that if one or two of them become super popular can end being a blood bath in NA too. I the ones developed by ex-Halo and Destiny devs (Marathon, Concord) have more numbers.
If marathon takes off, sony could be looking at their cod like revenue right there. Multiplatform with a 70% split profit to sony itself. Cant believe im saying this, I hope bungie nickel and dime their playerbase for all their worth for that game. Battlepasses on top of battlepass up the asscheeks.
And then funnel that revenue to new big sp games and ip.

Digital and Disc versions were at the same price, so no point to get a Digital for the same price as a Disc version.

Marathon is a Sony game, so Sony would get 100% of its revenue on PS plus 70% of its revenue in the other platforms.

The Marathon teaser got 19M views in a month only in the official youtube video, meaning it's a hugely anticipated game even if there's only a quick teaser that doesn't show much. Make sure it will be a huge success.

And yes, the money generated will be reinvested in many things, including to fund the development of SP games. As an example, the gaming R&D budget for Sony's current fiscal year is basically all the revenue they generated in the previous fiscal year.

Normally the % is very different, I assume it's because of the available stock of each SKU. I don't know, maybe they are getting rid of the stock because of the Slim model announcement and release could be pretty close.

Or maybe there was some big discount or great bundle for the disk version, I have no idea.
