Whether it be from video games, graphic novels, movies, animes, etc. - it doesn't matter. Just share some of your fav designs. I'm a big nerd in terms of unique monster designs. So yeah. I'll start with my favorites.

There are millions of whiny 5-year olds on Earth, and I AM THEIR KING.
The Ritual is a great movie with an equally important message. I don’t see much talk about it, which puzzles me. Glad to see it mentioned in this thread.

One of my all time favorite is the creature from Creature from the Black Lagoon

Always loved the design of Pumpkinhead. The sound of the cicadas and the lightning that signified his arrival was so bad ass.

Despite not getting a good look at him till the end the werewolf from American Werewolf in London is so iconic to me.

The werewolves in Dog Soldiers were excellent monster designs. They towered over the humans.

It’s a damn shame it took this long for someone to post the King of the Monsters. My personal favorite design is the Millennium era design

I always loved Gigans design too

One of the nastiest and wickedest looking monster designs has to be the Brundlefly

I better stop. I could go on forever...

Not really a horror guy, so I don't really seek out monsters in the movies or tv.

That said, I do have some favorites from various media I've encountered:

The Witcher (the games and Netflix show)

Striga-8cf91a2.jpg

Striga - I thought Netflix hit it out of the park with their design of the Striga. Fitting since it's the first monster we see Geralt encounter in the books.

Leshen - Among all the monsters they designed for the third game, I thought the Leshen was one of CD Projekt Red's best.

The Lord of the Rings (movies)

Nazgul - Technically they're more like ghosts given they are wraiths. But Peter Jackson and Weta really nailed the nightmare inducing look of the Nazgul.

Moria Orcs - Among all the variety of orcs designs we saw in the trilogy, this was my favorite.

Cave Troll - Another great design from Weta and probably set the image of what a troll looks like in the public consciousness.

The Hobbit (movies)

Smaug - Yeah yeah. I know some people don't think much of these films, but I really loved their depiction of Smaug. This is the dragon design all future fantasy films must live up to.

Star Wars

Rancor - An oldie but still a great design from classic Star Wars.
