Porn has damanged an entire generation

JokerMM

Gay porn is where it's at.
used think this was a little exaggeration but hoy fuck, the deranged shit i'm seeing in reddit/twitter/youtube...EVERYTHING is being sexualised to the extreme, brain rot everywhere and effecting teenagers more than any age group. like for example there's this video of a brother hugging his sister and literally all commets were like "sweet home alabama" "oh they fucking" this is so weird" "she wants you bro".
this can't be normal right? we fucked up bad by normalizing porn

This whole step mother, brother, sister... thing is an American perversion. I don't know wtf is wrong you guys but even normal porn i've seen before gets a new "step" title when reuploaded / recycled. So you nudged an algorithm to display it because enough of people craved incest at some point, everyone chased it in their tags / uploads to get seen and now your teenagers are growing up with this kink pushed in their faces and normalised.

Thank god this couldn't happen in vhs days with the germans.

liking sex is okay bruv you missed the point

I don't think you really understand the depravities people would do in ancient times.
All the kinky stuff we see in porn, we humans have been doing it for thousands of years. The difference is that people back then didn't have a way to record it, unless they commissioned a painting of it.
And there are plenty of naughty paintings from olden days of people doing it.

We have gotten to such extremes with puritanism, it's really pathetic.
Even showing a nipple on TV, is cause for indignation.

In medieval times, men were using a knife on their waist, that looked like a dick. Just because it was funny. It's called a bollock knife.
And knights were using massive cod pieces to pretend their cock was gigantic.
In the renaissance, Michael Angelo, painted a man with his "willie" hanging out, while touching god, on the roof of the Cristine Chapel. In the holiest center of the Catholic world. And the Pope said yes, it's ok.
Angkor Wat is full of reliefs, of people doing it, in every kinky way imaginable.
Someone wrote the Kama Sutra, centuries ago, to teach others, all the kinky ways of doing it.
Romans were famous for their orgies. And so were the Greeks.
In olden times, girls and boys were supposed to only date from the balcony. But somehow, many girls showed up pregnant before marriage.

Let's not pretend that only now, people have become depraved in all sexual things.
Porn is just an expression, of what we humans have been doing for millennia.

I think these porn companies are just lazy with their production value. Why are 2 horny young people in the same house? No more calling the pizza guy or getting fucked on a pirate ship.

People have no shame now but you can blame the internet for that not porn

Mr Reasonable

Completely Unreasonable
LOL, people today, thinking that people in the olden days weren't horny. Get a grip with such puritanism.
We have plenty of examples from history of olden people liking sex a lot.
I think you're right that pornography has a long history and isn't anything new, but I also think the ease that young people can access pornography which is much more extreme than what was available on years gone by is accepted to be having a negative affect on the relationships they are forming, how they view sex, can lead to objectification and problems with self image, etc. Etc.

Like all things in life, too much of a good thing, can be harmful.
Remember that poison is not defined by the substance, but by the quantity.

The problem with porn is that it becomes far more stimulating than sex for many men. Porn let's you "have" anything you want in any shape. Plus you get used to a death grip from your hand.

Then when it comes time to be with an actual woman it's kinda bland in comparison because real women aren't desperate for your junk and they aren't going to moan and scream like they're being cut open.

The end result is erectile dysfunction and inability to come. Throw in the fact that many people are also on antidepressants which have sexual side effects or have to use condoms for birth control and yeah, forget about enjoying healthy sexual relationships.

I grew up in the south and pre-date internet porn. Your example was a common method of messing with someone when I was a teen. 🤷‍♂️ My girlfriend/cousin didn’t care.

This thread immediately made me think of porn and naturally, I went and looked at some, so yeah, porn has damaged our brains. I believe porn is also the reason for this high increase in sexual preference over trans/femboy/etc.

It’s nothing new bro, but unlike in the old days the degeneracy is for everyone to see today. People were always horny… but it was more a secret than it is today, which good. Because it not being so secret any more means children are exposed to it from an early age.

I would say the easy access to porn and it's infinite content coupled to the increased feelings of loneliness is detrimental to the overall sexual wellbeing of people.

But imagine people in ancient times. The wife got a "headache", aspirins haven't been invented yet. And all we had, was a mosaic or a painting, to get off.
Very state of affairs for ye olden people.

There have always been people into kinky shit, there have always been people writing sex stories or drawing raunchy pictures. But there has never ever been a time when porn was so abundantly, freely available to absolutely everyone.

When porn became mainstream from the 70ies onwards you could see adult fare in magazine racks of bookshops but it would be on the top shelf and bookstore owners wouldn't sell it to you if you were underage. In the eighties you had the video revolution and porn videos made their appearance. But always there were societal barriers in place. You had to be old enough to venture into sex shops to buy or rent forbidden wares.

But these days there are no barriers at all. Any computing device with an internet connection is a gateway to porn addiction, because it's so easy to get it for free. Any curious eight year old can easily access stuff that would make most grown people not just blush, but want to pour bleach into their eyes. Bestiality? Brutally hard BDSM? Golden showers and shit play? Google is your friend if you turn off Safe Search.

That easy access to unlimited amounts of porn simply can't be healthy for children now growing up. It can only mess up their ideas of what healthy sexual relationships are. It wouldn't surprise me if in coming decades we'll have more sexual predators because so many young men got hooked on increasingly extreme porn.

That's what parents are for. It's their responsibility to check what the kids are consuming.
Besides, there are applications to control access to such sites. So there is no excuse.
Stop blaming society, for the lack of responsibility of the parents.

Seriously, a simple search and we find many ways to block access to adult sites.

Pretty sure there's penis graffiti in pompeii on the walls frozen in time. Porn, sex and access to it was always a thing for thousands of years. We're just as screwed up as we ever were

I do think people are exposed to more depravity these days, and there is less focus in entertainment on authentic relationships or friendships. Sure people are always going to like sex, but you have to even the scales you know.

I have taken a break from porn for two months now. Holy shit has it been good mentally.

Back in the day, you still had to work a bit for sex. Now, its a click of a button. Sex has been around for ages but the consumption of it is far easier today than it ever has been, which in itself lends to problems.

no, what a dumb take, I guess parents don't exist; don't put your parental failures on the rest of society to solve for you.
The problem is with other kids too. You have kids at school who have cell phones before anyone else and they’re Googling stuff, showing it off to other kids, and etc. yes, at the end of the day the kid should have parents who punish/correct them. It’s just not perfect for all the kids out there. Not every kid has good parents or parents who care. It’s like the kids who sold drugs in high school. You have to teach your kid to say no to drugs, but there’s always that kid who gets mad and didn’t take his parents advice that day.

Porn is so easy to access, which makes it scary as a parent. You have to put safeguards into practice. You lock down devices and so forth. Kids are gullible, so they believe whoever they meet online is who they say they are. We have a zero trust with online content. It either has to have a kid friendly mode or we don’t let our kid use the device. Do they miss out on certain games? Yes, but it’s the only way if you ask me.

Hype Train conductor. Works harder than it steams.
Porn is pretty shit these days from what I can see, late 00's & 10's was the height of the industry.

Parents in 2023 allowing their eight year olds to view porn on the internet is no different from parents in 1993 leaving porn videos and magazines around the house where children can have access.

Your problem isn’t porn. It‘s terrible parenting. If that was your experience, then I feel sorry for you.

There is absolutely a huge difference between a magazine and 4K, UHD, crystal clear pornography being streamed onto a device you have on you at all times. I'm surprised so many people really do not see that difference, but I suspect it is because they don't want to.

Here's a site to start learning about what effects modern internet porn has on people: https://www.yourbrainonporn.com/

Then again there are huge differences within "the porn genre" which should be taken into account imho.

In the end it's availability and your own psyche.
