valid point, being "only on playstation" would have included exposure to 100+ million + a probable PC release since most of there 3rd party deals are structured like that anyway, Street fighter V and most recently Kena Bridge spirits come to mind.I'm not trying to war but I have a hard time thinking he would be "worse off" being a playstation exclusive. If anything he might be marginally more accessible with sony. Though of course it would be just as bad if he's against exclusivity.
Not. Not even slightly. And Phil? Hypocrite or not?
elaborate, please.Not. Not even slightly.
It's the first fucking lineLMAO. Why not call on Nintendo, the market leader, to port Mario to Xbox. Or Sony to port TLOU2 to Xbox.
In response to an interview of Phil Spencer done by Axios where he discussed Bungie’s departure and mentioned that they could’ve held on to them today, Thomas Mahler, founder of Moon Studios
Xbox even existing means they will have exclusives. Having inclusive marketing that is referencing day one PC releases, cloud, and gamepass availability doesn't mean Phil has ever implied they will never have exclusives. I can't believe this requires elaboration.elaborate, please.
What about all the poor kids on Xbox though? Thats cold.Pretty clear he's done working with Microsoft.
Ease up Elon.A Reeeeee member?
Anybody got the number of that pedo-hunting group that nailed the Sony exec?
I have a game developer they might want to take a closer look at.
Please re-read the article, specifically the image imbedded which was his post on resetera. You will find the answer in the first four paragraphs. but i do encourage you to read all of it as to why he said what he said.Xbox even existing means they will have exclusives. This. He's right in one aspect. Microsoft likes to tout how they're trying to unite gamers by bringing games to more platforms and that they're not competing with PlayStation but they exclude ONLY PlayStation gamers.
are they notWe’re just gonna gloss over the fact he also called PlayStation and Nintendo walled gardens?
And Phil? Hypocrite or not?
I read it. I think its a stupid rant. Any platform holder putting their games on the competitors system is ending their platform. This is what Sega did after failing and going third party. Please re-read the article, specifically the image imbedded which was his post on resetera. its in his reset era post, hes referring to comments phil has splashed about in the past with various media outlets about having xbox games available everywhere but then not doing it, possibly because nintendo and sony arent playing ball.what did Phil say that was hypocritical? I don’t see the interview linked.
This just comes off as ungrateful. Love the Ori games but this doesn’t leave a good taste in my mouth for their projects to come.
Microsoft was all GAMERS UNITE. When it was looking very dire on their console prospects. They stopped posting numbers of all kind. Microsoft sorta of forced Playstation to share their multiplayer customers with Xbox, to strengthen their lobbies.
That is the end of even having multiple platforms so thats literally impossible.really want all games on all platforms so everyone can enjoy it.
This dude is always putting his foot in his mouth. A few months back he got called out for saying CDPR and Hello Games are snake oil salesmen, something he later apologized for.I love Ori too and it makes me sad to learn one of the main people behind such beloved games is a narcissistic, ungrateful and entitled asshole.
I mean, their slogan literally is “play anywhere” and “no gamer should be left behind” … it’s almost as these PR (programming relations) are to trigger an emotional response and create buzz in the Great War. Just like “for the gamers” received so much mental gymnastics as well.think of all the gamers
Is that their slogan lol? And do they ever talk about no gamer being left behind? I've never seen that lol.I mean, their slogan literally is “play anywhere” and “no gamer should be left behind” … it’s almost as these PR (programming relations) are to trigger an emotional response and create buzz in the Great War. But I digress.
As for the OP, they’re exclusives with exclusive contracts. Or “moneyhat” depending if it’s the opposite brand doing it or not.
This is all part of the entertainment industry paradigm.
Yep. There is nothing wrong with MS going third party. We have long hoped for Nintendo going third party, well, why not MS? They apparently have never made a profit off of their consoles according to their exec at the Apple vs Epic Games trial. So if they are struggling and want to sell their games to the remaining 100 million users then by all means, go third party. I think I know why they are not going third party. It's because they cant sell gamepass if they go third party. If they dont have their own walled garden.its in his reset era post, hes referring to comments phil has splashed about in the past with various media outlets about having xbox games available everywhere but then not doing it, possibly because nintendo and sony arent playing ball.
The whole problem with this situation is, Nintendo nor Sony have advocated for this in the public but MS has, and so now it seems like a conflict of interest.
In other words are you just saying things cause you can and it makes you appear to be in a better light? or will u back it up?
If this is truely your vision you dont need the other two to make a move first.
you do realize MINECRAFT was a thing before MS had any involvement right? and yes that includes probably being accessible to play by anything that could run it. This is a horrible example to use for something that was going to be available everywhere anywayOr Minecraft. MS is the least stingy of all the platform holders.
This guy is a dumbass. Theres literally no point in multiple platforms if there are no exclusives. Everything would just be PC.
You don't even need an Xbox to play Halo as it is. You can use your PS controller to play it on a Chromebook. How are they not making their software more accessible than anyone else?its in his reset era post, hes referring to comments phil has splashed about in the past with various media outlets about having xbox games available everywhere but then not doing it, possibly because nintendo and sony arent playing ball.

Phil is definitely a bit hypocritical with his stance regarding open platforms. Nintendo/Sony don't hide it, but Phil likes to pretend to be the good guy meanwhile going out to buy Bethesda only to take their previously multiplatform games exclusive.
If he truly believes his own spiel, he should put his money where his mouth is and actually embrace open platforms.
Their “play anywhere*” program…Is that their slogan lol? And do they ever talk about no gamer being left behind? I've never seen that lol.
Sony says play has no limits but only a moron would think that means they are giving up all their exclusives.
Trust me. They can see lol. Everyone knows what he meant except maybe that Ori guy who actually seems genuinely clueless. He’s only spiel has and always been games on xbox capable devices. It’s mind blowing people can’t see what that means, want to play on PC? Sure no worries. Phone? Yep. All these platforms allow the xbox ecosystem. Not once have he ever entertained putting Microsoft exclusives on PlayStation.
Without technical boundaries. Hes talking about PC, cloud and phone through the app. Just read it. I did a few min ago.Their “play anywhere*” program…
*pc and xbox mainly and majority only
And the left behind was here, and I seen several use that phrase in a several thread the past few months when warring, like they collect a paycheck each time they repeat it.
Gaming Without Boundaries: Our Vision for the Future of Xbox - Xbox Wire
E3 has always been a very important event for TEAM XBOX. Over the years, we’ve used our E3 briefing to announce blockbuster games from franchises like Halo and Gears of War, Xbox Live platform features, including Xbox One Backward Compatibility and the New Xbox One Experience, and much more...news.xbox.com
“Gaming without boundaries” is another.
And I agree about the Sony ones as well. Short slogans not backed up by context, which taken in slogan form is utter bullshit, lol.
But they’re parroted. Rabble rabble.
Hmm, you do know Microsoft has made more gaming revenue than Nintendo for the last 2/3 q's?He should be proud of their output but his bonus and probably his job is tied to subs and market penetration and there is no way in hell Sony and Nintendo would ever let them penetrate anything.

We know what he’s talking about, obviously. Hence why I mentioned, without context. Doesn’t make those short slogans any more noble than 8 years of Sony ones that got shit on and ridiculed “outside of the same context” as well.Without technical boundaries. Hes talking about PC, cloud and phone through the app. Just read it. I did a few min ago.
How does that solve PR BS which is what this dev is pointing out?Buy an Xbox then. Problem solved.
The slogans are stupid. For sure.We know what he’s talking about, obviously. Hence why I mentioned, without context. Doesn’t make those short slogans any more noble than 8 years of Sony ones that got shit on and ridiculed “outside of the same context” as well.
That’s why I said, they’re only designed the trigger emotional responses in the great war at the end of the day.
It’s literally this meme when it comes to green vs blue,
