Overall, 288,632 games machines were sold in the UK during the period (GfK panel data). The second best-selling console was PS5, followed by Xbox Series S and X.

Moving to GSD data for the digital and physical software market, just under 2.5 million games were sold in October, which consists of 1.25 million physical games and 1.25 million digital games -- a 50/50 digital/physical split.

FIFA 22 was comfortably the No.1 game of the month once again, with Ubisoft's Far Cry 6 at No.2. 53% of Far Cry sales were sold via download stores, with the rest coming from physical outlets. In terms of platforms, 58% of sales were on PlayStation consoles, with the remainder on Xbox.

Yeah it's a bit unclear but just some quick calculations if true and first week physical sales ratio remains constant. I forgot exactly what the physical to digital ratio for FC6 was/is so have just done 3 examples but happy to do another one if we know

The industry is definitely healthier than it has been for a long time. I do wish MS gave hardware shipments though.

The entire market is suffering from shortage.

No matter how much MS gives it a thought, you cant stop these shortages.

We are getting a bag shortages, let alone those chip shortages.

Until we get out of this crisis, i doubt we will see hardware increase.

It won't increase as much as it otherwise would do, but PS5 and XBS will see hardware growth for the next 3-4 years.

Switch is winning because it is easier to manufacture. Most video games systems are selling out right now. You can’t really get a new ps4, ps5, Xbox, or switch that easily right now.

I think week 1 sales leaning more physical while total sales leaning more digital is a common pattern.

Profit margins are higher from digital obviously. But in no way, shape or form is physical irrelevant. Maybe its irrelevant to Xbox.

I was talking about revenue, not profit. If you think 4% of revenue is super relevant, it's all good. Most people would call it a small niche though.

In the past six months, Ubisoft made 78% of its revenue via digital, and 46% of its revenue via DLC. This is also the reason why all the big publishers are pushing digital via certain online order incentives, it simply makes them way more money. Physical is becoming more irrelevant by the year.

That around the SDR brightness of the C1 but it still has the ABL kick in to drop to like 150 nits. What panel is it even using? its samsung made so the same as the AMOLED phone screens?

It's definitely not the same screen, since it's very scratchable (unlike the AMOLED phone screens).
