I'm going to hold out for the next gen version. I want the suicide mission in ME2 to be as epic as possible. The music in that mission......lord have mercy.....made me feel like a fucking god.

I don’t get the whole no multiplayer thing it’s just doesn’t make sense. It would be a huge draw as that was a part of what made 3 awesome

Were you around at the start of last-gen? Remember how

the top selling games by the majority were CROSS GENERATAIONAL?

What the fuck would they earn by having less of an install base to sell to? The game is already a remaster, it was MADE for PS4 and XONE, making it better on PS5 and Series X makes sense, NOT making it on PS4 and XONE doesn't make sense....the systems are BC, they have no ode to NOT make more money by having less systems to sell to for no reason.

I'm talking about having a dedicated next-gen release.

No reason for one.

Woah really? Hmm... I wonder how they got management to bend the knee with that one.

lol maybe its not what you think it is. This is why I think people need to be careful with such wild assumptions like they can't work on Unreal or something. I think they wanted to push Frostbite, but they still want to make quality games, if Frostbite gets in the way for some teams, they are clearly willing to allow that team to work on a different engine if its not working out for all teams.

I think people tend to exaggerate things with EA when if you closely look at them, they've been very, very open to changes in how they do things.

BF4 launched with new systems, had so many issues. BF Hardline delayed, BF1 given proper time, BFV given all free dlc no season pass etc.

Next gen, BFVI isn't coming at launch.

EA started the gen questionable about remasters and ended with making a few that people demanded

The company is much more open to change things then I think people realize.

I can tell you that on the bioware forums the guys maintaining and developing new features for the ME3 multiplayer announced support was being dropped and they were being reassigned to other projects. They also said that ME3:MP was profitable but required unreal and EA was winding down all external engines.

yea....was. I don't think they mean it was an ironclad thing. Nothing really is in business. They were likely going to drop ME3 MP regardless of engine as the game series just isn't known for that for them to even care for long term support like you'd see from a Battlefield or Battlefront, Madden etc

The fact that you didn't know they used Unreal for a few games after doesn't help either, like you assumed after ME3 that was some 100% absolute thing.

I mean yeah, EA's output has been soo exciting =/

Last time I gave a shit about that company existing was when Inquisition launched.

Except this isn't asking anyone's personal opinion on the publisher, its showing that they don't really make ironclad moves like that. Many examples show you that they change things from time to time and can adjust.

Has nothing to do with what you personally feel about them or not tbh. I'd argue that is what even clouded your judgement to make such an assumption instead of just looking up Star Wars Fallen Order that uses Unreal Engine 4.

You don't need to like them to know that they actively change things, revise views, open to feed back etc. Its why you are not getting BFVI at launch of new systems. I mean...my god, why the fuck do you need to give "a shit about that company" to see what they've done in their past factually regarding such things? Leave that be, put it aside, allow for you to freely objectively think about whats being stated vs "Last time I gave a shit" etc. So you need to give a shit about a company to know what they've done prior or something? lol Shit, I don't even care for the majority of what they put out, but I'm able to see they have a history of changing things often.

Very little things are ironclad in business to really believe they have some magic rule to never use different engines or something. Even when they made that comment about remasters, many of us on here all still waited for a Mass Effect collection as we know such comments are not to be taken so literally with this weird absolution.

So you don't need to give a shit about Star Wars Fallen Order to know its running on Unreal Engine. Liking any company should not be a requirement to even have this discussion.

So I guess they are remastering the Red Ending, Blue Ending, too?
That would alter the core of the game and be more of a remake. I don't see them doing that.

I hope modernize only refers to graphical and technical. If they start removing/altering parts of the game it will be DOA.

You seem to be taking very personally the fact that as far as I knew, bioware's m3 mp devs stated that ea was winding down all external engines and switching to frostbite.

Is there a story that you need to tell us? Because sure feels there's more to this than whatever tools ea uses.

You seem to be ignoring that companies don't actually do ironclad moves like that. Most 99% of the time its for the "time being", its not a absolute statement.

I don't even know why you'd think that as it doesn't even make that much sense outside of some sort of lawsuit where UE banned them from using the engine or something, but even then that wouldn't answer then using a different engine all together outside of Frostbite.

Is there a story that you need to tell us? Because sure feels there's more to this than whatever tools ea uses.

Nope. You just seem to exaggerate statements made by publishers for no reason. Why the fuck would you think they meant FOR LIFE 100% NEVER going to happen or something?

Most of us didn't think that regarding Mass Effect having a remaster after they made those statements about them, many of us with common sense just figured they are either working on it now, or will do it if they see demand up or something. So sorry man, business do not just do things in absolution like that.

Should have looked up if they did it before instead of strangely holding on to 1 statement or something. They probably prefer Frostbite and wanted it to be the majority engine used in their work, but clearly that is pending how it works with other developers, its just not a absolute statement, like Frostbite will be used for 100% EA games come hell or highwater or something. Its just a really odd thing to believe, as if you can't understand such a statement is not meant to be taken THAT literally. Because Mass Effect is primarly a SP series, I didn't see them working on the MP that long to even feel that the move really was solely about the engine, I think it was just a feature most didn't use, so it wasn't a top priority to EA...

This is the fourth time you repeat the same statement.

Yeah, definitely, there's something going on. Who gets that hot and bothered about whatever tools EA uses? And you keep repeating the same sentences over and over? Is there a trauma in your life? Did frostbite hurt you? Tell us, we won't judge.

??? This isn't about anything like that man. You made a statement and didn't know it was completely wrong.

Not happening. Electronic Arts has a firm policy concerning paying money for Unreal. So much so that they killed off ME3:MP support just to get rid of the last remaining users of UE in the company.

and

Respawn used UE4 for Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order though.

So I'm sorry but, "Electronic Arts has a firm policy" is 100% factually incorrect. You not liking their games has no relevancy to that, personal attacks is not going to magically make it more correct or something.

Or you can play it on the 360 or PS3.

*just giving you shit for when you say this about other games ;)

Looking forward to seeing the graphical updates. Hope there is some nice QoL improvements to gameplay as well across all 3.

Same. I'd need to see a pretty big overhaul for me to really care, especially on the first game. The inventory was a complete nightmare in that game. So we'll see with more info, but I don't see me getting it in spring at launch.

Regard the following with a "pinch of salt" if you will, but the ACTUAL release date for the game may have been leaked, with the date being: April 23rd 2021. To me it sounds believable, because A.) That day falls on a Friday, and what better time of the week to release a much anticipated title ahead of that weekend, and B.) The BIGGEST point being that this date falls into the time window they have said the game will release in: Spring 2021....more on this can be found here: Possible release date.. for me that's great because hopefully by then I will be able to get the PS5 to play it on...

Looking forward to replaying Mass Effect 1, my top 2 game of all time.

Maybe I will now finally finish this trilogy, as I never bothered playing 3 after being dissapointed with 2.

2 was the best in the series. maybe just stop at 1 because 3 is by far the worst

I'm in the same boat. I just want to explore and drive the Mako.

IMO it's a massive fail it they make it 3 separate titles kinda like say the Mario Bro 3D all stars that just came out. I want to see ME 1-3 all integrated seamlessly as 1 game and I want ME 1 to be in line gameplay wise with the other 2. If not, this remaster is a fail to me

ME 1 had the best gameplay it was an actual RPG not a bad cover shooter.

How did you get that clip? Are there really people who didn't play as Femshep? I don't understand...
yes, because of the german sync -> male shep. I tried the femshep, too, but the voice acting is not that good.

All games into one title would not really work that good with the story. E.g. you get resetted with each part. Also the transition from part 1 -> 2 would be much harder (I don't want to spoil to much here). Also your group is the other problem. Would be hard to describe to those that didn't play the old games, why your upleveled teammates get replaced at certain points with new low-level teammates.

I can’t believe some of you are STILL hung up on ME3’s ending enough to convince others to avoid it altogether 🤣🤣🤣 Such assholishness

ME3 is solely to blame for opening the floodgates to crybaby enthusiast entitlement. WAAAAAAH WE WANT A BETTER ENDING.

Thanks BioWare

Honestly the problems I have with ME3 have nothing to do with how it ended. I actually thought the ending was fine. It was certain moments leading up to it and certain characters or lack of that brought it down for me.

Chobot’s embarrassment of a character fucking sucked too.

I love making a butt-ugly freak of nature and seeing them come to life in all the cutscenes. One of gaming’s simple pleasures. Can’t wait to play as the ugliest human in the galaxy, banging all the hot alien women.

Dammit.
I only recently played ME3 with a lot of mods (like ALOT) and got burnt quarter way through the campaign.

Lets hope this legendary edition is a LOT better graphically. Else PC already has the remastered ME3.

To keep your expectations in check here's a recent EA remaster of NFS Hot Pursuit:

Not only are the upgrades barely noticeable. But notice how at times such as 4:25 the original actually looks much nicer (better rain effect)

What I’d like: HDR, ray tracing, DLSS, unlocked framerate, ultrawide support, FOV slider.

What I’m expecting: “high resolution textures” generated by some upscaling/sharpening filter, plus some SweetFX to crank up the contrast and saturation

I wouldn't say avoid the games all together, but now we know that all you decisions made in the 3 games amount to just 3 endings.
Now, there are lots of other differences according to your decisions, scattered all over the trilogy.
Also, the original release ending of 3 was utter crap.
Just a box saying "wait for further DLCs". Thank God it was changed.
Since this trilogy contains everything, people will get a way better ending to the original games.

I really don't expect anything from this remaster apart from native 4k, high resolution textures and 60fps. This is after all a simple remaster. Nothing more. By EA. 'nuff said. Keep your expectations as low as Kamala Harris' s morals. Having thus said.... Day 1.

I really hope this is good, but at this point I haven't played a Mass Effect game in almost 10 years (never replayed after beating 3) -- and I worry about how they'd hold up.

I really don't have any more faith in EA/Bioware anymore. I really want this to prove me wrong, and let me hope again.
