Play of the day

I love that the actress playing Vasquez isn’t even Hispanic🤣

If the rumors are true and they are removing planet exploration in ME1 and replacing it with planet scanning from ME2 then I won't touch this abomination. Doing shenanigans with the Maco is one of the highlights of my xbox360 era.
I doubt thats true as there are actual missions involving the Maco and planet roving. I would guess they mean the stuff you could go and mine, the minerals you could find, they could of taken that out and use the planet scanning instead.

I'm curious to see what they do, but at the same time after that ending 'meh'

Honestly, I'm of the view that instead of a remaster they just

FarFavoriteConey-max-1mb.gif

and basically do a complete reboot of the entire IP fresh

Keep the principles (Shepard, Alliance, citadel, Reapers, etc) jettison the dubious BS (like earth having only been part of things for a mere 25 years) takes some Ls from CDP about C&C and be honest about what did and didn't work.

Well at that point there isn't that much to do on the huge open maps. Hunting for resources was the only reason why you had to drive around the whole area even if you knew where the stuff was. It might have been dull to some but I found it relaxing.

She plays John’s Foster mom in T2 as well. Always liked her acting.

She also played with Henriksen in that one vampire movie.

Absolutely stoked for this. Been putting off a playthrough of the original for quite some time in hopes we'd get something like this.

So is there going to be any new content? Maybe more dialog, features or missions that were cut back in the day? I remember watching the 2006 E3 presentation and in the gameplay part you could switch and take control of your squad mates. That could be a nice feature to add. Somehow I think this is going to be a half ass job with no new meaningful things added. But I will keep an open mind.

Looks like a solid remaster with all the bells and whistles you'd expect. I'm down with this despite not being overly in love with the franchise. EA better announce Dead Space next.

I couldn't play Dead Space for more than 10 minutes without feeling so nauseated to a point of throwing up sadly.

They got all of the old cast back for the presser IIRC so I would imagine that they might be doing to addition VO, though given the fact everyone aged a bit they probably need to ensure everything sounds the same.

I thought that but I could have sworn Jennifer Hale said this is the first she'd heard about the remaster when it was announced on the Bioware blog.

Oh man, i really hope this is great.

To my shame, i only played from ME2....... i know its insane, however ME2 is one of my most favourite games ever

Will defiantly play this from 1-3

Love the series, but I must have played through the first 2 games about 6 or more times and maybe 3 or so times for the 3rd game. They would need to make major improvements and add in some additional content to get me to buy these games again. Not just improved graphics.

Current gen? I genuinely don't understand how a publisher can be so shortsighted.

Newsflash idiots, come Spring, the hardcore gaming audience who will snap this up en masse will have moved on to PS5 and XSX.

? Newsflash, come spring MOST will still own PS4's and XONE's, unless you telling me 150 million units of next gen systems will ship out in 3 to 4 months.

Also....newsflash, the new systems are BC. They have little reason to make this only for next gen as the games are remasters in the first place. Any benefit they can get from new hardware, they can STILL GET with a simple patch. This makes the most sense for them. I'd say being shortsighted is thinking only making it on the install base with less consumers makes sense.

ctrl+F “Switch”

nevermind. I love these games but I’ve got toddlers, if i can’t carry it with me and start/stop at a moment’s notice I’ll never finish it.

With it being a remaster, Switch makes sense for it. I think EA and many publishers tbh simply don't see the install base buying much 3rd party games.

I know they don't bring many new games there because of the sacrifices they'd have to make. I think this one could do well considering its age.

Why? Too scary?

No buddy! I don't know what it was. It's the character movement I think, that left me feeling dizzy and nauseated after playing it for a few minutes. Hopefully, the remake/remastered will run at 60 fps or have a DOF slider to help alleviate the issue, because I would love to play that entire series.

Were you around at the start of last-gen? Remember how quickly 360 and PS3 game sales plummeted despite the larger install base?

And I never said it should be next-gen exclusive, I'm talking about having a dedicated next-gen release.

I wouldnt worry about the game releasing on current gen. Current gen is def good enough compared to last gen, to produce 60fps, higher resolution, and improved graphics (Andromeda for example)>
Plus its not a next gen launch game, where they have been struggling to get the game ready for launch. Every chance they could add extra improvements for next gen.

I remember being so hyped for ME3. Then I saw all the hate over the ending and how your decisions meant jack shit in the end. So I skipped it and never looked back even after hearing about a patch.

You should play it when this remaster drops, it's not that bad, the trilogy as a whole kicks the ass of anything else we've had since then anyway.

I've thought about it since the rumors of a remaster started. Im honestly not sure if I could. I put so much time into the first two that I don't think I could again lol. Maybe something sways me along the way tho.

Frostbite is a stretch but maybe they could port them on UE4?

I'm in if it looks good, My only hope is the change in ending but it's a pipe dream. It will always be screwed up.

Not happening. Electronic Arts has a firm policy concerning paying money for Unreal. So much so that they killed off ME3:MP support just to get rid of the last remaining users of UE in the company.

And yet isn't Respawn using it for their Jedi games? Money-wise putting everything to frostbite which already had so many issues from perfectly working Unreal is a Herculean effort. We will see but I won't hold my breath.

Thing to remember, these games are loooooooooooooooong

I feel so bad, I fell asleep in the Citadel three times playing ME1 yesterday, I was playing on the couch though. :messenger_sleeping:

Maybe it's the music or dialogue or something but the Citadel gives me serious narcolepsy.

Not really a fan of mass effect tbh. I see a lot of wasted potential and bad pacing/storytelling. Bioware was already in decline back then, nowhere near their peak in the Baldurs Gate days. Pass.

Red dead 2 would do that to me on the long horse rides lol. I'd fall asleep holding the x button 🤣

It's still a pretty solid IP, definitely worth more attempts. Although the publisher is not a good fit, EA expects their games to generate at least 12 Billion US Dollars per Quarter after tax in microtransactions and gambling, a traditional RPG is a shit fit for a kiddie casino corporation.

I think Larian would unironically kick ass with a Mass Effect game.

LOL, let everyone just outsource their RPG shit to Larian from here on out.

Considering I already have them on PC I'm not sure I want to pay for the games again, especially with how much all the DLC added up to. Good for people who never played them though.

Somehow a better ending than GoT lol

Gen X

Trust no one. Eat steaks.
Why am I expecting a NFS Hot Pursuit quality experience? IE PC textures slapped in and a stable frame rate.

Looking forward to replaying Mass Effect 1, my top 2 game of all time.

Maybe I will now finally finish this trilogy, as I never bothered playing 3 after being dissapointed with 2.
