devaluing whole brands and exclusives pull to buy hardware... for peanuts

They're outselling their competitor by a margin of like 10:1, PS5 keeps selling more and more, they're not devaluing anything. Only people who care about "devaluing brands" because of lost exclusives are brand fanboys who are losing talking points in console wars on reddit.

this doesn't mean anything.
They are outselling xbox because xbox is shit.
If xbox was doing great, these exclusives pull would matter more.

Yes and at the end of the day they are in fact outselling Xbox so these exclusives don't matter that much, so more people are able to enjoy them one or two years down the line. What's so wrong with that? Like even if you have stocks in Sony you wouldn't care because PS5 is selling a shit ton. Brand loyalty is stupid.

Wouldn't it make sense to advertise the Pc ports as well? It doesn't have to be as stark as when the games first came out. But as far as I've seen, sony doesn't advertise the Pc realeases at all. If people don't know that the games are coming out they won't probably buy them.

it's not stupid to have more exclusives on your console.
People who will not buy console for 1-3 exclusives, might to it so for 10-20 exclusives. But if these games are also on pc are are to shortly come to pc... that lowers the chance.
What is so hard to understand in that

Because it's a disingenuous argument considering that PS5 keeps selling and selling despite Sony porting games to PC, it's factual evidence that Sony games losing their exclusivity to PC doesn't hurt PS5 sales at all, which leads to the conclusion that some just want to gatekeep exclusives for their brand fanboyism.

Spiderman and marvel, i dont give a fuck really.

Why do sony think the PC audience care about spiderman? It is not as popular in europe.

That’s literally all this is. It’s such a point of contention that the most obnoxious sony fanboys from GAF got banned for having meltdowns over this topic and had to create a splinter forum / hugbox. Sad bunch. Must be driving them up the wall to see Sony signing contracts with Marvel for PC ports in the 2030s.

Maybe they're outselling Xbox by so much because of Xbox doing day and date

So if we use Miles Morales as an example, which sold "only" 450k copies: the lowest sales price has been 30 USD, minus Steam's 30 percent cut (actually 25 and 20 percent for sales above $10 and 50 million respectively, but keeping the math simple), results in revenue of $9.45 million. If you use the base price of 50 USD, then it's $15.75 million.

With a PC port budget of $1.5 million, that means a profit of $8-14 million, or return on investment of 530 to 930 percent.

"tHeY mAy As WeLl NoT eVeN bOtHeR!!"

That fucking fOnT trend will never die lol
