I figured Deep Labryrinth would be total garbage. Still pretty decent scores for Dead Rising, considering it's brevity.

All the critics are going to eat up Okami and it will go on to sell all of 15 copies.

Ah, I could tell there were slight hints on the 1up podcast last week that they weren't super super high on Dead Rising, but really high on Okami, looks like those hints were right. Still solid scores for DR though, I'm still going to give it a shot

Bomberman doesn't surprise me, as they basically ruined the series to try to appeal to the casual/LOL NINTENDO = KIDDY crowd. It earned shame of the month...

Whoa. Can't wait to read this, reminiscent of the Pursuit Force 3.5, if the game is even as remotely good as it seems to be.

On second thought...WTF EGM...how the hell can someone give a game a 2 and another guy a 7.5? Seriously...

Good for VP, Tekken, Disgaea 2...not too good for Dead Rising and Sir Arthur :/

What's all this eye-rolling at the Dead Rising scores? They're pretty good scores for what seems to be a fun if shallow and one-note game.

I'm more surprised at the low Ultimate Ghosts 'n Goblins scores.

Nothing surprising about Dead Rising scores. I want to love the game as much as GAF already does when it launches, but it looks to be full of problems. I'd like to read their review, but from the looks, AI looks retarded, loading is frustrating, the whole time limit makes it too arcade-like for me, characters seem the opposite of charismatic and the missions are always the same, or so I think (find X and return them to Y spot).

I know it will be cool the use the weaponry and unleash brute force in the mall, but I'll have to wait & see when I do it for more than a hour. I like the achievements too, maybe the reviewers were just a little bit too harsh. :)

Which is why I'll take the EGM review with a Salt Flat, thanks. Chromehounds is a stellar title for any system, at any time or release, and anyone who says different clearly hasn't played it to its fullest capacity.

"Slim pickins." That's some serious objective journalism for you.

I have a feeling any low scores for this game are from weak ass non-old school gamers who did not live through the classic age of tough ass gaming.

Of the games in this list that I have played--Dead Rising, Okami, Ninety-Nine Nights, Ultimate Ghosts 'n Goblins, Dirge of Cerberus, Prey--these scores seem fairly in line with what I would expect if I actually believed in giving scores. The only real surprises for me are the 6.5 for Prey and the 4.5 for UGNG.

SWEDISH PERFECTION
Dead Rising score is more or less what I expected based on the impressions I've heard of the game. I find the score for UG&G more surprising in that case.

Okami demo was fun. Glad it scored well.
Not sure what to make of Disgaea 2’s scores. I mean, I still plan to sink 50 hrs into it.

And I can’t wait to play Dead Rising
on the PS2

i had heard that this type of score would be popping up and i also heard comments about: the controls and "so all you do is smash zombies?"
