Most of us know about the big releases coming to Game Pass, like Halo, The Medium and so on, but I thought it was worth highlighting some of the smaller games that are penciled for the service in 2021. A lot of these don't have release dates! I'll add them as they get announced.

If there's anything I've missed, add it to the thread!

12 Minutes

From the game's blog: You take the role of the husband, on what should be a romantic evening with your wife. The night turns into a nightmare when a police detective breaks into your home, accuses your wife of murder and beats you to death. Only for you to find yourself immediately returned to the exact moment you opened the front door, stuck in a TWELVE-MINUTE time loop, doomed to relive the same terror again and again…Unless you can find a way to use the knowledge of what’s coming to change the outcome and break the loop.
An interactive narrative that blends the dream-like suspense of THE SHINING with the claustrophobia of REAR WINDOW and the fragmented structure of MEMENTO

Been in development for the last six years, recently added Daisy Ridley, Willem Dafoe and James McAvoy as voice talent.

Backbone

Beautiful pixel art noir detective adventure game. You play a private detective (who also happens to be a racoon), tasked with finding out the truth about a client's husband, and where he's been going at night. However, it soon turns out that there's more to the case than a simple affair, as you soon stumble across something a lot more sinister.

The game is a mix of point and click and stealth, and appears to offering branching paths depending on dialogue options. There's a
demo on Steam, it's well worth checking out.

The Big Con

Hustle through the 90s in THE BIG CON, an adventure game where you’re an awkward teen hustling to save her family video store from gangsters. Play as Ali, a high school junior gone AWOL from band camp to seek revenge on the loan sharks that threaten her mom’s video store. (Fighting with your mom is YOUR job. No one else gets to do that.) Maybe you’ll profit from the latest collectible plushie craze, and make an interesting friend or two along the way.

Dead Static Drive

Dead Static Drive is a horror survival adventure. You're on the road. The world begins to fall apart in front of you. Your friendships will make every bit of difference as order collapses and the people you meet fight for their own survival. Sneak, scavenge, fight, befriend, barricade and bunker-in or steal a car and drive off into the sunset. There's no escape; there's only what you choose to do with the little time that's left.

Lake

It's 1986 - Meredith Weiss takes a break from her career in the big city to deliver mail in her hometown. How will she experience three weeks in beautiful Providence Oaks, with its iconic lake and quirky community? And what will she do next? It's up to you.

Genesis Noir

A noir adventure spanning time and space. When a love triangle between cosmic beings becomes a bitter confrontation, you'll witness a gunshot fired by a jealous god—otherwise known as The Big Bang. Jump into the expanding universe and search for a way to destroy creation and save your love.

The Gunk

From the creators of SteamWorld, embark on an all-new adventure in a vast and alien world where you’ll encounter terrifying enemies and challenging puzzles on your quest to unravel the mystery of a forgotten planet, while saving it in the process.

The Ascent

The Ascent is a solo and co-op action RPG set in a cyberpunk world. Mega-corporation The Ascent Group, that owns everyone including yourself, has just collapsed. Can you survive without it?

The Artful Escape

On the eve of his first performance, Francis Vendetti battles with the legacy of a dead folk legend and the cosmic wanderings of his own imagination. Francis, a teenage guitar prodigy, sets out on a psychadelic, multidimendsional journey to inspire his stage persona.

SkateBIRD

You're a bird. That skates.

Cyber Shadow

The world has been taken over by the evil Dr. Progen and his merciless synthetic army. A desperate plea for help sets Shadow, the sole survivor of his clan, on one last mission to uncover what started the path to perpetual ruin. Your robotic companion, L-Gion, is your only guide through the ruins of Mekacity. How far will Shadow go to protect his clan and the one he loves? Is there more to their bond than meets the eye?

Release date - January 26th

The Good Life

The Good Life is a new slice of life video game from award winning creator SWERY and Yukio Futatsugi. You play as Naomi, a photographer from New York, who finds herself in the countryside town of Rainy Woods. Surrounded by this rural English town’s unique and quirky residents, Naomi is on a mission to unravel the mystery behind the ‘happiest town in the world’ while balancing paying off her debt with photography and part time jobs, and enjoying the comforts and delights of her new home.

Release date - Summer 2021

Sable

Sable is a coming-of-age tale of discovery through exploration across a strikingly rendered open world desert. Go on a deeply personal journey across an alien planet while learning its history and discovering Sable’s place in the world.

Song of Iron

Song of Iron is a moody and provoking action adventure. A dive into a dark Nordic world full of mystery and danger. Your journey will take you far across the land of myths toward the home of the gods. Fight your way through man, monster and nature itself to reach the end.

Some of those games look really good.

Honestly, it's such an underrated aspect of Game Pass. I usually never touch indie games and would have missed out on so many gems such as The Gardens Between, Call of the Sea, Oxenfree and countless others.
