IGN apologizes to Stellar Blade and ShiftUp

I mean yeah they used a real model for the animations, but we CAN clearly see how Eves proportions differ from the model.
I'd gladly spend the day with either one, and I look forward to playing but it IS artistically enhanced.
Enhanced=/=exaggerated

Even if she is exaggerated, who gives a shit? She’s a video game hero. Heroes + villains have been exaggerated since the beginning of time. They’re not supposed to be realistic, believable, down-to-earth people.
Fucking exactly. This is such a simple concept. Yet "journalists" and lefties simply cannot accept it, i dont understand why. How does it matter if video game protagonists, both men & women, are on the extreme end of the beauty and sex appeal spectrum ? As a mature adult, you are expected to tell the difference between fictional characters and real people. You are expected to behave with basic respect to other people when you go outside. If you're getting outraged about how fictional people look. What the fuck do you even have going for you in real life ?!?

Side note, I hate when: Someone shares an artwork of a sexy female character, 90% of the time you get the obligatory "WHERE ARE HER ORGANS?" comment, ignoring the fact that Art doesn't have to be realistic

If you go see a movie, you want to see beautiful sexy people.

If you watch pro wrestling, you want to see the larger than life freaks of nature performing breathtaking physical feats.

If you’re reading a mystery novel, you want to read about some detective with superhuman powers of reasoning and deduction.

If you’re watching Bond or some Noire film, you want to see the femme fatale with superhuman seduction who’s a formidable match for the hero.

The idea that a character being “exaggerated” is somehow a negative is preposterous. It’s like these people have no idea what drama, fiction, fantasy, myth, basic storytelling are about. They live in some bizarre reality where DEI is the sole dimension by which all art and entertainment should be judged. It’s such a joke.

Apparently the EIC of IGN France is having a meltdown on Twitter over the IGN apology, and claiming the Stellar Blade design will cause women to commit suicide.

Is that guy really gonna keep his job? Fucking hell. He needs mental help. How can IGN France be completely detached from IGN anyway.

The guy said patriarchy. Where did he go to college?

The few “woke” people that exist in France managed to get hired by IGN. It’s not an accident.

Edit: Oh EIC, this is the guy that runs IGN France. 🤣

The IGN France writer also believes the myth that men are to blame for women's unrealistic beauty standards. No. Women are the main reinforcers of women's unrealistic beauty standards, not men. Warren Farrell documented this thoroughly in The Myth of Male Power, 30 years ago.

But of course, he's a male feminist, so he has to blame men and a non-existent "patriarchy."

You're misinformed if you think France doesn't have woke people. I can't tell you if the percentage of crazy people is bigger than in the US (since this stuff comes from here) but woke mentality is definitly there and here to stay.

Is there a way to support this game even more than getting the digital deluxe copy? Any tshirts or something? ha!
These journalists are making me wanna apply to this damn company.

You could do a giveaway here if you can go in for the whole 70 again.

Or you could print a bunch of misleading flyers that make it look like stellar blade is a night club and leave them under people's windshield wipers.

If this IGN writer consumes porn on any level he’s a complete and utter hypocrite and supports everything he’s upset about.

Imagine getting riled up and linking real life to a fictional video game character. You need to be living an absolute privileged life to even get upset about this kind of shit. Ever notice how it’s always the video game space these loons want to control, yet they put their head in the sand when faced with an absolute contradiction to their cause such as porn because they see it as “empowering” yet it’s a less realistic take on women than the games they cry about.

The real reason is they want to get paid on onlyfans/twitch for showing their ass or in this case a possible chameleon-simp looking for social credit points.

It’s easy to write these types off because they always end up being hypocrites talking out of both sides of their mouth.

I guess Victoria's Secret, Baywatch, Playboy, etc have blood on their hands more the mass murder they have committed.

Dude probably doesn't know women's magazines (back when print magazines still existed) always put beautiful women on the cover because women liked looking at beautiful women. Men don't read women's magazines

Instagram is having roughly one trillion times the effect on women's psyches as some hardcore character action video game targeted at guys.
Yup.

It all comes down to how influenced someone can get from shit like 247 social media. Attention whores, people begging for acceptance, the person sitting at the office who needs pats on the back for a good job etc... Some people in life care a lot about this shit. Some dont at all and either see social media as a waste of time or simply pure entertainment for laughs.

And not surprisingly, more women seem to be into this stuff. There was that old article (probably 6-7 years ago) that recapped all the key social media sites and aside from Linkedin which skewed to guys, a few were roughly 50/50, and the rest were like 80/20 women. Add it up and it's not even close to men/women using social media sites 50/50. It skews to women looking for attention. No different than shopping malls. Most stores are geared to women, or unisex. The mall might have one or two guy only suit and tie stores and that's it. Then you look down the hallway and there's like 15 womens shoes, jewelry and clothing stores all in a row. Depending on the mall, there might not even be any men only stores. If a guy wants something, he'd have to go to a department store or mainstream store like Gap or Banana Republic.

And they blame men for that but at the same time they say a man would fuck a pig behind a dumpster outside a church on a Sunday morning.

I mean how low can they go?
They're one of the uncrowned kings of gaming journalism limbo, mate.

If you'd ask them how low, they'd probably reply "how low you wanna go?". Gotta give them some respect for continuously setting a new record under the journalistic bar.

You know, I think your comment highlights the main issue with modern video game "journalism": how can they be objective, when they're technically getting paid by the people making the products they're reviewing?
This can go two ways, of course - a gaming site may want to avoid low scores in the reviews so that the big publishers won't pull their ads. But still this situation is far worse - it's shitting on the game on purpose for ideological reasons and no one from IGN has decided to stop this sooner.

There are no ideal scenarios here. The best I could think of is that thanks to trying to be objective and professional in hopes that your site pulls more traffic and brings various sponsors, not just the game publishers.
