I'm not saying he's not straight, I'm just saying that just because he's close with someone in college, no matter how close he is with the guy, it doesn't prove romantic feelings and as such, doesn't make the point necessarily that he is bi.

Frank's bi? Cool. I'm just saying the library scene and him keeping a secret service guy close (which I assumed he was doing because he wanted a young SS guy who would come to trust him so he could use him later) didn't really scream homosexuality of any type to me. That's why the scene was so out of left field and made some people do a double take.

Chapter 8 said:
"And what about us?"

"Honestly, I haven't really thought about it that much. It's a long time ago."

"We were so close."

"Like brothers."

"More than brothers."

"We were kids, Frank. We messed around a couple of times."

"I was so drawn to you."

"I could always make you laugh."

If you don't see romantic feelings implied there, I don't know what to tell you. Frank is not straight, and also has had romantic feelings for another man before.

I'm not saying he's straight! :p

I'm just saying during that scene I wasn't really looking for homosexual undertone in what they were talking about so if that's what they were going on about it totally went over my head.

Then him kissing a dude obviously could not go over my head, so it was out of left field for me.

Just saw the first episode after marathoning the original British series.
After seeing Francis play Call of Duty, I can honestly say this "Frank" ain't got nothing on the original Francis.

The best parts of Season 2:

And I'm being serious. The last scene of season 2 made my mind race and made me feels those feels. Frank actually made it, he has become president, his ambitions and dreams have paid off.

I liked season 2 a lot but man, season 1 feels so much more grounded. Realism has never been a priority for the show, but realistic characterization has. Why would Frank sleep with Meechum? Alright, Frank wanted to have some sex, I get that, but why allow that huge risk? Is Meechum that trustworthy? If the press and people of the United States found out that the president and his wife have a open relationship and Frank sleeps with secret service staff that would be a titanic shaped scandal.

Frank's lust for power should be more powerful than what his dick wants. Completely out of character not because of his sexuality, but because of the implications of that relationship.

prez walker being featured throughout much of season 2 was such a drag, season 3 should be better alone just from not having that geek around

"Frank what the fuck are you doing?!"

"Mr. President sir I'm making the best decisions I can make, I'm trying my best, you can count on that."

"Oh, alright Frank."

House of Cards season 2 reminded me of Dexter at times, Frank stomps on everyone and uses the same excuse for most accusations, dude was like Goku with how much power and leeway he had.

So pissed Doug is dead. I held out hope he was just KOd but that open eyes shot at the end was the nail in the coffin of my hope.

I do feel like Francis had way too many instances of unbelievable luck with the people around him. The President was so gullible I barely felt bad for him.

His death was pretty neat due to how it mirrored Frank's ancestor's death. Doug was keeping Rachel enslaved, Rachel fought back and then was freed. Underwood ancestor fought for the confederacy, fighting to keep people enslaved, was killed by a Union soldier. Union eventually won the Civil War. So Rachel won a battle against Frank, but the war continues. Both people were killed by getting slammed by a rock.

Of course if the Underwood ancestor fought for the Union my comparison is moot.

on that level, i hope tusk goes away too. i get the aim of trying to make him frank foil's but he was basically another god with absurd powers such as shutting down electricity to an entire city and literally being the single financial catalyst to who wins a majority in congress. edit: am i misremembering but was it mentioned that the reason walker even won the presidency is because of tusk's financial backing? makes sense given that a spineless wimp like him wouldn't even get past the primaries.

jackie, seth and the new reporter lady have potential for season 3 but there needs to be some solid new people to fill the void left by russo, christina and zoe's absences.

Stamp was one of my favorite characters.

My impression was Frank and Claire were feeling extremely frustrated by the restrictions that were suddenly placed on their lives once Frank became VP. Since they were no longer free to quietly go out in the dark and have their sexual escapades, this inevitably led to the Meechum Threesome.

At least, that how it seemed the show was trying to portray it to me ...

As for power vs dick, I think Frank believes he is more or less bulletproof ... even if the information or news did leak, he believes that he could shut it down with the same ease as anything else that has come up ...

Just caught up...fun ride. I don't really see why some people are hung up on Christina getting written off, especially with Zoe getting killed so quickly. My main takeaway from the season: Underwood throws a baseball like a wuss.
Kidding.
I think the inevitable fall will make for a great conclusion.

The bit where the guy walks in on Kevin Spacey looking at porn, funniest scene in Season 2 by far. I was also a little amused in the way Kate Mara was killed off. Even more amusing was how absolutely worthless her journalist boyfriend is. Just the most worthless, pathetic character on the show.

Beyond that...I thought Season 2 was more of the same. Everyone is stupid except Spacey. Everything goes right for the guy, blah blah. It sometimes got a little boring to watch.

I seriously hope everything crumbles around him in Season 3, I want him to truly suffer. I want him to cry.

Zoe and Lucas were the worst characters on the show, I was so glad when they were offed. Ayla was a far less irritating journalist, by virtue of not being incredibly hostile yet still competent.

The whole train thing was pretty stupid to be honest.

Didn't the police watch the full security tape? Didn't they see a shady guy come and stand in a weird place? Didn't they see Zoe supposedly talk to her self? Didn't they see Zoe walking towards the area where the weird man was hiding?

It was pretty dumb.

Oh and the president is a dumb ass. Same as everyone who knows that Frank is a manipulative POS and they still trust him.

Ayla was far more irritating by virtue of having no characterization or humanity at all. She could be replaced by a Journalistbot and it would make no difference.

Just finished the two seasons, HOLY FUCK.

My friend works at the VFX house who does all the post visual shots for the film (yes, he worked on the blood for the train shot muwhahah) but after months of him telling me to watch it, I finally caved.

This series is incredible. And its made me realize that I oddly could use more Spacey kissing dudes in my life.

I'm guessing that Lucas is going to be back somehow for season 3 - otherwise, that plot went nowhere. Lucas, the hacker, and the chick that Doug was watching are going to try to do something I guess?

If I had to guess as to what brings Frank's downfall, my guess would be the wife. She is seen crying for the first time in the last episode after all.

Only way is down from here. Should be 2 seasons left max, don't see how they can stretch it out for more than that.
There was a line about the oval office breeding paranoia, I hope they follow up on that. Also hope he gets attacked from the inside more than dumb journalists and hackers.

Actually I think the show is set up for a very organic three season structure: Russo's downfall/Frank's ascension to VP --> Walker's downfall/Frank's ascension to presidency --> Frank's downfall

Yes, it is clearly laid out that way. I mean, Tusk even (clumsily) referenced that Frank was at the point of hubris and we all know what happens after that. Plus it closely mirrors the UK series.

Watched some more episodes.
Good God, is this inferior to the original. I mean they made him into a Democrat? That ruins a good chunk of the character right there.

Apple, PSP Vita, iPhone, twitter, Apple, Youtube, Macbook, Google, Call of Duty, Apple.
The shameless plugs & advertising in this is are 'Man of Steel' levels. Netflix has found a way around showing commercials & still having commercials.

What crap are they peddling in the 2nd season?

The UK original is better but is not without silly moments.

Season 2 mostly focuses on God of War: Ascension, Subway and Stella (I think).

Heh yeah, I was totally expecting the Frank character to be a hardcore Republican figure just like his Conservative counterpart in the UK show.

UK Spoilers
It'd totally fit his anti-welfare, 100% laissez-faire and capitalistic outlook that the character espouses for the good of the nation in the UK show. Being a Democrat seems to take the bite out of it. Although one could argue that the New Labour party has moved somewhat to the middle too, since the Blair government.

To be fair, he's a Democrat but pretty apolitical.

He'd have to be written differently to match the British version.

No, Truman Show would be Claire looking to the camera and talking about all the new features of her Macbook Air while holding it towards the camera and then Frank saying that the Baby Back ribs at Chili's are as good as Freddy's while making a pig of himself. That's Truman Show. Anyway, I think it just bothers more people than others. Personally I don't care as long as the characters are not throwing it in our face. I didn't even pay much attention to the beer shit.
"Is that the PS Vita?"

Just finished yesterday. The only thing I don't understand is how Frank gets off scot free from the scandal. Tusk blaming the president somehow takes all heat off frank?

Or is it just that he cleaned up the China situation so fast that he gets more political capital?

Yeah they sent the star witness (Fang) back to China anyway so it will be swept under the rug now that the star witness will probably be killed and Tusk and the Former President could just play dumb about the whole thing if it goes to trial.
