CGMagazine - Justin Wood - 7 / 10

Overall, Hot Wheels Unleased 2: Turbocharged builds on the solid foundation of the first game by adding new vehicles, tracks and more importantly new race modes. While the story is bland and forgettable, the gameplay is too much fun for it to hold it back too much.

COGconnected - Jaz Sagoo - 78 / 100
Hot Wheels Unleashed 2: Turbocharged improves on its predecessor with refinements on the track and new modes. The multiplayer portion has had an overhaul with new modes that take advantage of new mechanics to offer more variety. However, the small number of environments is still an issue and makes the different tracks feel too familiar. Milestone sticks to what worked which results in a very similar experience. While it does improve on the original, it doesn’t add enough to make its way up the podium.

Digital Trends - Tomas Franzese - 3.5 / 5
Hot Wheels Unleashed 2: Turbocharged enhances the original's formula is every possible way.

GameGrin - Mike Crewe - 8.5 / 10

Silky smooth arcade racing at its very best, Hot Wheels Unleashed 2 - Turbocharged may not stray too far from the previous title, but still packs in enough features to keep you whizzing around those little plastic tracks for hours and hours.

GameSpew - Richard Seagrave - 9 / 10
All in all, Hot Wheels Unleashed 2: Turbocharged isn’t all that different from its predecessor, but it is bigger and better in just about every way. A brand new range of environments and additional vehicle types help to keep things feeling relatively fresh. And new event types are also very much welcome. It’s the new moves at your disposal that really elevate the experience, though. Being able to jump has allowed Milestone to get even more creative when it comes to track design, and it also adds yet more depth – you have to think more about how to use your boost. This is a very worthy sequel, then. It’s just a shame you can’t carry over your vehicles from the first game.

God is a Geek - Chris White - 9 / 10
Hot Wheels Unleashed 2 - Turbocharged offers tons of cars and tracks for players to enjoy, featuring solid gameplay throughout.

Hobby Consolas - David Rodriguez - Spanish - 80 / 100
Hot Wheels Unleashed 2 Turbocharged is not a must-buy sequel for those who enjoyed the first game, but it has certainly managed to add enough incentives to round off an arcade formula that is as fun as it is inspiring. This is a more complete game, better planned in its progression and with a lot of content.

IGN - Luke Reilly - 8 / 10
Hot Wheels Unleashed 2 is an impeccably detailed and blisteringly fast racer with incredible graphics and rock-solid arcade underpinnings, although it’s guilty of forgetting to suitably cater to its wide audience at times.

IGN Spain - Rafa Del Río - Spanish - 7 / 10
With new vehicle types, environments and driving mechanics, Hot Wheels Unleashed 2 is the ideal arcade racer for the young and the nostalgic veteran alike.

Nintendo Life - Tom Massey - 8 / 10
Fans of Hot Wheels will feel well served from a nostalgia point of view, and inspired by its huge number of new modes. Unleashed 2: Turbocharged combines furious arcade race challenges with childlike creativity, being able to build tracks any which way, and race them to breaking point. You can feel the Switch's lack of muscle, with a markedly smudgier feel than the grip offered by more powerful consoles, but as a racing experience bursting with customisation, modes, and creativity to mine, it's both an excellent successor to the 16-Bit Micro Machines legacy and sits firmly in pole position over its predecessor.

Operation Sports - Cory Dell - Unscored
Hot Wheels Unleashed 2: Turbocharged is an incredibly fun arcade racer that taps into childhood memories. While the Creature Rampage story and the game itself might be catered towards kids, adults will have a blast boosting across the unique tracks. Elimination Mode should be a party-pleaser, and when crazy challenging tracks are bountifully available then full online lobbies battling it out seems like it will be a great time. Completing the entire story portion of the game took me roughly 12 hours and that was without completing every Unleashed Goal or even every race. If you attempt to completed all Unleashed goals as well as the challenges, it looks like you can easily sink 15-20 total hours into the offline story mode. No matter how you play, Hot Wheels Unleashed 2 is a blast and worth a look if you're a fan of the genre or just want something different in your rotation.

Press Start - Steven Impson - 7.5 / 10
Hot Wheels Unleashed 2 is great fun in short bursts. The chaotic energy, ridiculous car designs, new abilities and commitment to the miniature racing aesthetic make for a bombastic racing experience, for a while. The campaign storyline left me cold, and the freedom to screw up might be fun in a silly multiplayer session but becomes annoying solo. The sheer amount of track and car customisation options should at least add longevity to the online multiplayer experience.

Push Square - Simon Fitzgerald - 8 / 10
Hot Wheels Unleashed 2: Turbocharged is a highly polished, fast-paced, fun, and robust racing sequel that builds upon its predecessor in all the right ways. Addressing almost all our criticisms of the previous title by adding impressive core mechanic modifications in the form of jumps, dashes, and new terrains, removing loot boxes, and adding obstacle immunity skills, Milestone has created a fantastic follow-up arcade racer to be reckoned with.

TechRaptor - Tanushri Shah - 8.5 / 10
Hot Wheels Unleashed 2: Turbocharged is a worthy successor with plenty of new cars and customization options, fun new game modes, and even a decent single-player campaign. It improves on many of its predecessor's faults, albeit still having a few of its own.

Try Hard Guides - Erik Hodges - 9 / 10

Hot Wheels Unleashed 2 – Turbocharged gives players the adrenaline rush of a high-speed race paired with the wackiness and freedom of a toy car track. An absolutely massive collection of cars and customization options means there’s always something to work towards in this game, and an expansive level editor means multiplayer races are always interesting. Real-life Hot Wheels collectors and racing game fans alike have something exciting in store with this brand-new, high-octane title.

Better score than the original which I thought was a decent game. I really feel like it would benefit greatly from having coop campaign though. I'd love to play through it in 2 player splitscreen/online like Sonic Transformed etc. Was hoping that's something they'd add for this one but they haven't.

First one was fun for short sessions on my Deck but I don’t need another version. Didn’t get far into the first anyway.
