Hi-Fi Rush Leaker Claims Starfield And Redfall's Development Is In "Rough Shape" (Rumour)

There's always negative shit surrounding Microsoft, they can't a shake it.

Release a hit and your studios are still curses to be suffering. If there are serious rumours that it's in bad shape then its got to be true. No smoke without fire.

All of me hopes it's like those rumours where resi 7 was in bad shape on ps5.

It's probably true though.

Pants!

How does this actually happen though?

Does it even work this way? They're separate parts of their business.

Redfall and Starfield aren't anywhere close to being able to mitigate massive losses in other divisions, so rushing them out sounds like complete nonsense.

Redfall also didn't look rough at all...seemed pretty much ready to go gold shortly

So this rumor sounds like bullshit to me

Posted in the other thread that Starfield is in trouble and needs another year as I was told
i have also heard from sources that starfield really needs at least 1 more year for polishing etc.

btw that redfall downgrade is real folks
1.How sure are you guys on a scale of 10?
2. How confident are you guys in your sources?

I’m kinda finding this hard to believe which is why I’m asking.

Can't say that I saw anything that indicates Redfall is in rough shape other than really subpar visuals, but it just looks like a bad game.

As for Starfield, it's funny that anyone is surprised. This is Bugthesda Game Studios we're talking about. Only now, they've widened the scale up to literal galactic proportions with more procedural generation. You expected them to come out polished?

They said H1 2023 so I don't think that's stating the obvious. I think what's wierd though is the idea that they lost a lot of money on Azure. How is that true? Didn't they have massive growth.

Yup. The recent quarterly report indicated that Azure is doing extremely well, and is making them a fortune. This 'leak' is pure bullshit.

If I was a betting man I would put large sums of money on what this guy says.

Now needing another year and MS actually giving it to them is likely 2 different things as we could be seeing another Cyberpunk

At this point I think they are just making excuses as to why they are spreading out the games for growth and revenue to gp and not meeting their PR advertised dates.

By that logic, no one in the Xbox division would've gotten laid off in the couple weeks.
You're right, it's not going to cover losses to a great extent, but in times like this, companies pay attention to every dollar they're spending and bringing in. If Starfield doesn't make it before the end of June, then it's missed a public target. If it doesn't make it out this year, Xbox is going to look very, very bad internally and externally.

Redfall also didn't look rough at all...seemed pretty much ready to go gold shortly

Well. What they showed of Redfall was very edited and curated footage. It is with every game, but it was especially so there; what with the non-perspective camera angles and chopped up gameplay sequences. On top of that, the visuals did look less than polished.

Redfall looked fine in the trailer. Arkane still got a couple of months before release to polish it up. Another year for Starfield would suck big time but you don´t want another Cyberpunk PR-nightmare. But when it comes to Bethesda I ain´t got much hope for it anyway not to be a buggy mess, regardless when they drop it. It is what it is.

The only thing I can think of is xCloud being the "massive losses" attributed to azure based on what MS have been saying to regulators but even I'm not sure that has any merit.

Still? I wonder what condition they were in last year when they were actually supposed to release if that’s the case.

If Starfield in particular (maybe I just know less about Redfall, but one is the clear larger title) isn't good and the Activision deal doesn't go through, things look rougher than they have for a while for Xbox

Also still waiting on any clarity on Halo Infinite story DLC...

It's always the same with these leakers. If the game ends up being in rough shape everybody remembers the leakers, if the game isn't in rough shape they hide away and people forget they were wrong, so the next time they have a leak everybody listens to them

And it will do that.
MS isn't worried about financially in that department.
Couple of millions means nothing to a company that makes freaking billions. As long as the game brings enough gamepass users.
Hang on, now. That isn't true. Everything any company does is in thr concern of finances. Microsoft has just, to this point, been willing to play the long game with gamepass. But they intend to collect money with it. A lot of it.

Azure losing money makes me think that the pressure for performance, subscribers, revenue, profit, and/or otherwise is going to be high at Microsft.

I'd be unaffected if they push Redfall and Starfield to 2024 because I don't mind waiting a little longer for quality.

I've got plenty else (third party stuff) to look forward to this year, and as long as that stuff still arrives this year I'll be satisfied. Even in an alternate reality where every other game in the world gets delayed to 2024 I'd still be fine because I have a healthy backlog of quality games.

But I know that not everybody is in the same position as me, so I sympathize for those folks that have nothing else to do until Redfall and Starfield come out, and I hope they won't suffer too much.

Xbox is in a tough spot cause the two things they need to happen go against eachother directly. They both need the game to be great at launch with minimal issues, but they also need it to release sooner rather than later.

If it needs more time just push it to fall. If they force it out cause of higher ups, investors, etc, like CP2077, then they deserve all the criticism they'll receive.

Have just posted a couple of 'snips' for the recent 10Q. They lost margin % but no revenue or operating income so quite confused myself.

The difference is that gamepass is their long term project here.
They are investing heavily on this project.

point me towards a Bethesda game that wasn't in rough shape? that's their whole engine in a nutshell. their games are usually still in a rough shape months if not years after launch

as for Redfall, looks very much finished, so what's that about?
