Side by side comparison between the old and broken PC version (Steam) and the 10th Anniversary Edition (Android) of Grand Theft Auto III.
I don't like how it looks the android version compared to the PC.

re3 ported all of that stuff to the pc too. There's legit a better pc version done by the fans!I so hope the new trilogy release is based on the original xbox version, which had real time reflections on cars.
I think I remember seeing that mid production, is that mod completely finished now?re3 ported all of that stuff to the pc too. There's legit a better pc version done by the fans!
Yep, it's even been ported to other platforms. A Wii U port of Vice City was released earlier today.I think I remember seeing that mid production, is that mod completely finished now?

Yeah i modded my vita a couple of days ago!Yep I even think it was ported to vita
Yeah you need to have the android game first BUT it’ll upgrade itself ontop of those files.Yeah i modded my vita a couple of days ago!
i downloaded it from the homebrew store but i was missing files..
i guess i need the game files
I agree. The Xbox version just had so much more. I loved the reflections and I thought the colors just popped a lot more than the original PS2 release. For the time, I thought the rain on your screen effect was epic and still do.I so hope the new trilogy release is based on the original xbox version, which had real time reflections on cars.
Xbox classic version was pretty much PS2 remaster.I agree. The Xbox version just had so much more. I loved the reflections and I thought the colors just popped a lot more than the original PS2 release. For the time, I thought the rain on your screen effect was epic and still do.
Xbox version was superb, but after 17 years we must expect much more.I so hope the new trilogy release is based on the original xbox version, which had real time reflections on cars.
VC is also more detailed. Only GTA SA had some missing graphics features on xbox (and PC as well).XBOX is probably the only proper remaster Rockstar has ever done.
All the other III, VC and San Andreas ports look so lacking compared to Playstation 2. I guess it's just very hard to properly translate the PS2 handcrafted effects into modern streamlined APIs.
Thanks for the info. I will download that mod pack. I just need to make sure I can map the control to a Xbox controller. Never was a huge fan of the keyboard controls for the GTA games.Xbox classic version was pretty much PS2 remaster.
-higher resolution (480p instead of 480i)
-Quincunx AA
-more stable framerate (on PS2 there were frequent dips below 30fps and streaming stutters)
-more detailed character and cars models
-more details in the scenery (buildings with additional details)
-dynamic car reflections
-more detailed vegetation (especially trees)
-longer draw distance
-higher texture quality (up to 1024x1024)
-some additional on screen effect (blood, rain drops)
-shiny textures on certain places
Here's some comparison photos from my TV:

For many years xbox version was my favorite because GTA games on PC (GTA 3/VC/SA) were missing many effects, but thankfully moders have restored everything now (I recommend "definitive edition" mod pack), so PC platform is the best place to play these old GTA games.
Smarphone version however wasnt good at all. Controls were awful (even with gamepad aiming sensitivity was just wrong), and there are many missing effects (car reflections, clouds, and even posptrocessing effects including color grading, so game is washed out). PS2 CPU wasnt very fast but this console was fillrate monster back then, so no wonder they had to make some sacrifices for 2010 smartphones (even PS vita from 2012 was struggling running some PS2 ports like GOW1 and 2, or JAK trilogy).
This mod pack has improved gamepad support for GTA3 / VC / SA, but if you want to use triggers for gas and brakes (like on xbox classic) then I recommend changing standard controls preset in ginput.ini (located in "scripts" folder). Depending on the game you should use "3" or "5" controls preset. I also recommend deleting "classic axis" file in the same "scripts folder, because aiming is broken with it.Thanks for the info. For others that might be trying to decide which control style to use, I was a PS2 controls purist until I realised right stick camera control doesn’t work nicely with X/Square accel/brake. You can get away with it in 3 (yes, that’s one of the additions, no more L2/R2 looking) but if you play SA you’re going to need trigger controls. This mod pack has improved gamepad support for GTA3 / VC / SA, but if you want to use triggers for gas and brakes (like on xbox classic) then I recommend changing standard controls preset in ginput.ini (located in "scripts" folder).
