Well, PC is a different equation. That platform is broken wide-open. The used market, I think, is a more compelling argument.
Of course, that takes us right back to Nintendo. Why isn’t piracy a problem for them? Used games? A lot of people treat Nintendo like some magical Willy Wonka factory, but it’s just another company, one with the sense to build value and long-term appeal into their games and brand. Pricing follows from that. Create something fun, special, and compelling, and don’t create the expectation that launch buyers are getting ripped off, and should wait, and people will gladly pay full-price for it.
