Trolls.... Trolls everywhereNo hardware ray tracing then. Cheap and low quality used in most others UE5 game on consoles. Very different than what Insomniac use in their games.
the beach scene is from the trailer released last year. That's the same footage from the pre rendered trailer. Or in engine trailer.I am referring to the footage shown in the DF analysis and the gameplay shown of the game until today.
You have several moments where you can see much more than just the protagonist walking alone or in front of another character in a beautiful setting. In each fight scene you can see how things happen around other characters. But you also have that rocky beach gameplay with a dozen allies and the giant.
Clearly these types of scenes and moments will be smaller compared to the protagonist walking alone fighting her schizophrenia, but it does not mean that they have also tried to include moments of more stress on screen.
Like what? Mods that enhance the aspects you stated? It obviously doesn't. People play on PC for more reasons then just performance or visual related ones.
Replace 'does' with 'is'.Does what?
Like removing the black "bars".Like what? Mods that enhance the aspects you stated?
Quit trolling.Like what?
No, Is not the same footage, Is diferent.the beach scene is from the trailer released last year. That's the same footage from the pre rendered trailer. Or in engine trailer.
imo if you have to argue about whether or not something is gameplay, then they haven't shown real gameplay. No, Is not the same footage, Is diferent.
Even the giant and the beach recreation is different.
That beach footage was confirmed gameplay and in fact you have a vidoc showing how it was created in real time.
Among other things. I'm sure you know what they are. If not, Google is pretty easy to use.Like what? Mods that enhance the aspects you stated?
So are hardware prices for comparison, which started this dance.Among other things. I'm sure you know what they are. If not, Google is pretty easy to use.
imo if you have to argue about whether or not something is gameplay, then they haven't shown real gameplay.
This close to launch we should have 5-10 min of uncut gameplay that's undeniable.
This is also the company that admitted the Fable "gameplay" is an interpretation of gameplay, and the company that showed ray tracing in Forza Motorsport that isn't in the game. There is nothing to argue. The footage of the beach and the giant was confirmed as gameplay is its presentation and there is a video explaining how it was created. How the final result is in the final game? will be see.
Then, we are talking about a short and linear game, it would be a shot in the foot to show a lot of content before the launch for which there is a month left. It is clear that there will be longer previews before launch.
I don't think anyone was really claiming Hellblade 2 is going to have next gen gameplay. I think people were expecting some next gen visual effects.Ah yes, walking down narrow paths and fighting enemies 1 on 1.
Truly the next gen gameplay people in the Gear6 thread where saying we would get once devs stopped embracing 60fps on console
I don't think anyone was really claiming Hellblade 2 is going to have next gen gameplay. I think people were expecting some next gen visual effects.
I will say though, people are irrationally critical of Hellblade's gameplay. I was shitting on it too until I played part 1 just a month ago. The combat is solid. More than good enough for a game that is an audio-visual art piece. For an art game, it's kind of ridiculous how good the combat actually is, including boss fights.
I think people are grasping at straws to try and even stumble through what "next gen" would even be. I have no clue what next gen physics even means. Tears of the Kingdom had impressive physics beating most stuff on Switch. Games like Teardown come and go and no one even talks about it. People just throw out statements I think without really knowing what it even means, like asking for next gen enemy AI. Enemies already could have been much smarter for like the last 15 years, but they'd just beat the players and it wouldn't be fun.I know. To be fair I think pushing visuals as much as possible in this game makes sense as it's a very atmospheric cinematic experience, like the first one. I really liked the original and I think this one will be great too.
I'm just annoyed by people constantly arguing that 60fps on console means we won't get any new gameplay and it's the only thing preventing us from getting stuff like next gen physics and AI. Meanwhile Hellblade 2 is a the newest game in a growing list of 30fps console games (or games with a focus on 30fps and really bad 60fps mode) that's just offering the same old gameplay but with nicer graphics (like Alan Wake 2, and Plague Tale Requiem, and FFXVI, and Gotham Knights, etc).
None of these situations is closely comparable to showing footage of several minutes with the sign "gameplay" and of which a video docu was made of how that scene and the animation of the giant was created. This is also the company that admitted the Fable "gameplay" is an interpretation of gameplay, and the company that showed ray tracing in Forza Motorsport that isn't in the game.
Starfield also hid all the loading. They have a track record of misrepresenting and hiding things before release. Which is why I wouldn't assume anything until we get 5-10 min of uncut gameplay. And yes they can even do 5-10min from a shorter story based game like this, I'm sure there's a 5 min mission or fight sequence.None of these situations is closely comparable to showing footage of several minutes with the sign "gameplay" and of which a video docu was made of how that scene and the animation of the giant was created.
I don't put my hand in the fire for anyone in this industry, but if you ask me if it is logical to think that all the work behind that recreation was some type of invention or deception, that there would not be that scene in the game and that a year ago they were wasting their time with content that they knew wouldn't be in the final game... no, that's not the logic.
The logic is to think that that scene will be present. Another thing is whether it will be the same in presentation and visual level. It is sensible to think that this scene has seen script changes and showing it again could cause story spoilers to a degree that is not desirable for a short game.
As I said, we'll see.

The footage/demo shown for previews and the DF one already showed that number of minutes. It simply has not been allowed to be shown publicly. And yes they can even do 5-10min from a shorter story based game like this, I'm sure there's a 5 min mission or fight sequence
No game in history has ever had a trailer with fucking loading in it lol.Starfield also hid all the loading.
Considering how much loading is in that game, an honest representation of gameplay would show it.No game in history has ever had a trailer with fucking loading in it lol.
Anyone with an ounce of common sense would have known creation engine has loading screens. My point is, no game in history has ever marketed with loading screens. So no, it doesn't make every game with loading dishonest. Why would anyone put loading screens in their marketing?Considering how much loading is in that game, an honest representation of gameplay would show it.
They did like an hour long walkthrough and swiped away every time it was time for loading screen.Anyone with an ounce of common sense would have known creation engine has loading screens. That walkthrough was one of the most slick, polished pieces of game marketing ever. It was basically a professionally produced 45 minute documentary on the game / studio. It was professionally edited. It's not some raw gameplay walkthrough. No one is putting loading in their documentary. They want to show the game in the best possible light. Same as any Final Fantasy game on PS1 showing nothing but ads with CG cutscenes and no loading, or changing discs. They did like an hour long walkthrough and swiped away every time it was time for loading screen.
It's not a normal game with normal loading and you can't expect people to know about a game engine.
They went in and out of the ship skipping how it actually is. Didn't really show how the "space travel" is, etc.
This isn't just some game that takes 20 seconds to load an open world once.
I’d like to smear some Vaseline on top of Mona Lisa, nahmean… what a fine looking womanI really hope there are options to disable motion blur, chromatic aberration and film grain.
It's like smearing vaseline on top of the Mona Lisa.
So far the only games released on UE5 have been indie titles due to long game development cycles. So yeah, it's hard for an engine to be "revolutionary" if no big titles are shipping with it.UE5 might be the most over hyped nothingburger I've seen in vidya tech in a long time. Remember the hype when that first Tomb Raider type demo was shown? That was 2020. Before any of these consoles launched. And so far this gen, the UE5 "game" people talk about most is the Matrix demo, which isn't a game and had framerates in the teens. The best looking UE5 game until this comes out is what, Robocop? Come on.
I am sure UE5 will be the default just from momentum, but it's clearly not the revolutionary engine tech DF and Epic said it would be. All this shit like Nanite is, maybe not blast processing tier, but closer to that than what they said it would be.

Well if they were more honest and transparent about how the game actually plays maybe it wouldn’t be like the top refunded game on Steam. That walkthrough was one of the most slick, polished pieces of game marketing ever. I don't think they lied about anything. It's not impossible to know exactly what it was going to be like prior to release if you just used your brain.Well if they were more honest and transparent about how the game actually plays maybe it wouldn’t be like the top refunded game on Steam.
I'd argue they lied by omission. They know what the expectations were. No one expected that many loading screens. Everyone thought you could fly to all the planets, etc.I don't think they lied about anything. It's not impossible to know exactly what it was going to be like prior to release if you just used your brain.
News - Retro - Hype - Starfield - Official Gameplay Trailer Reveal (2023)
We pushed back Elder Scrolls 6 for this? Ok I guess. I'm still buying day 1, but hype for me has decreased a bit. A little too action oriented for what I want in a Bethesda title. Hopefully the actual game delivers more than the trailer in that regard. I could give two shits less about base...www.neogaf.com
Steam refunds are really another matter entirely, and is not directly correlated with loading screens.
Several games currently in development are using nanite. I think you need a little more knowledge about development pipelines and what it takes to intergrate new features in the development timeline when making games.I am sure UE5 will be the default just from momentum, but it's clearly not the revolutionary engine tech DF and Epic said it would be. All this shit like Nanite is, maybe not blast processing tier, but closer to that than what they said it would be.
Nanite has been in games, I stand by what I said.Several games currently in development are using nanite. I think you need a little more knowledge about development pipelines and what it takes to intergrate new features in the development timeline when making games.
feel like thats giving it way too much creditFor an art game
Yes, did you enjoy the ending?feel like thats giving it way too much credit
Holy shit another one.Are walking sim/story games Good now?
And yet people are asking why we need "Pro" models of modern hardware. Consoles can't do Native 4K/60 still...I love how some developers use state of the art techniques like TSR to upscale their games and then make them looks like shit again with radial blur, chromatic aberration and shit ton of motion blur and DOF.
1296p -> TSR -> "4K" -> CA, RB, DOF, MB -> looks sub 1080p LOL
The hypocrisy is blinding.Holy shit another one.
Why do so many people shit up threads and troll here
From who, please back up with names or quotes. Don't just drop in a thread to shitpostThe hypocrisy is blinding.
What do you mean? $3000 is enough for a 4090 equipped prebuilt.$3,000 PC? Maybe if he's not getting a 4090.

Nanite has been in games, I stand by what I said.
Thanks for the update .It was the 3rd year in with the 360
In the video he said the resolution count could be off because if they have low res transparent objects overlayed then that would affect the objects behind. So we really don't have a definitive resolution.I just read that this is 976p. That's a joke, right?
Sounds about right. It's a UE5 title using metahuman, lumen, nanite, TSR, and virtual shadow maps. All of that brings the current consoles to their knees.I just read that this is 976p. That's a joke, right?
