Destruction AllStars Delayed to Feb; Now Launching on PS+

No-one's surprised, but still ouch. Probably for the best to separate this thing from the console launch if they're expecting mixed/bad reception. Nothing screams "this game really isn't very good" more than pulling it three weeks from launch and reducing the price from $70 to "free".

What do they mean with "it will be included for two months in PlayStation Plus at no additional cost"? That you will have two months to claim it, or that afyer two months you have to buy it to keep on playing? Is there any clarification?
I guess that it means that you'll have two months to claim it, since the other scenario that you describe had never happened with a PS Plus title IIRC.

Even the standalone version of GTA Online that will be available to PS Plus users during the three months following the game's launch on PS5 in 2021 will be yours forever if you claim it during that period of time.

Free for 2 months under PS+ then $40 after that?

Can he swing from a thread? Take a look overhead / Hey, there, there goes the Spider-Man
Now how about do this with all 1st party games, charge us a bit more for psn+ (maybe psn extreme) sprinkle in some 3rd party games...

This is the best move Sony could make for this game. Putting this thing out in November for $70 would've killed it on arrival. No one was going to take a chance on this for that price. Putting it out in a less crowded window and on PS+ gives it the best chance to become something.

Well fuck. I really wanted this day one .
Kinda felt it when no media released for it but still I wanted to play it

on the flip side..... free in 4 months so more people will download it and lots of matches online

A 3 month delay to get the game for "free" is AWESOME! This is exactly what this game needed!

I think this game looks great but not at full price... now that it's coming to PS Plus though i am def giving it a shot. I wonder what happens to anyone that preordered it already though?

I was kind of excited for the game but this makes loads of sense given that we hadn't really seen anything of it.

I hope the online community is decent now.

But but but people told me Sony marketing is great and laughed at other people who said Sony is sending games to die and that they have already showed everything and we are entitled to ask for more.

Funny indeed.
This is the opposite of sending a game to die. This is Sony letting a studio put out what they want, realizing a traditional rollout won't work, and adjusting their strategy to give the studio it's best shot possible. Stop coming up with bullshit

Pre-order numbers were probably abysmal and Sony realized it was going to crash and burn. November is insanely busy, and Destruction All-Stars would've been a casualty.

Either it suffers a whopping 100 copies sold as a $70 launch title, or actually have a chance to succeed as a free PS+ game in a month that's not so stacked.

Glad they decided to not kill this game from day-one, now could even be a success. I trust the devs and for what I've seen the game seems really interesting (outside of the horrible art-style), so now I'll play it for sure.

Given what PS + did for

Fortnite
Rocketleague
Fall Guys

And an entire host of games of this calibre, I think this move has potential.

EXACTLY! I'm dumbfounded how Sony didn't see this coming beforehand. They know more than us how much PS+ helped Fortnite, Rocket League, and Fall Guys.

So obviously the right decision that it's baffling they were ever going to do anything else.

Charging $70 for a quirky looking multiplayer title that can only succeed with a decent player base was fucking insanity.

I'm looking forward to trying it, it looks fun.

I mean, hey, at least I'm interested in the game now

There was no way I was spending £70 considering how much they’d shown off

Yeah that's what I'm thinking - that placement will also to be cover a gap I think in that area for any games relasing, which might hint at 1st May before we potentially get a surprising drop like GT7 or H:FW or GoW2

Too funny. This is the game I specifically mentioned in the UI reveal thread that I was shocked to see a $69 price for an obvious PS Plus title.
I knew I was right but didn't think it would happen this soon.

GG Sony.

With launch being stacked with Demon's Souls, Spiderman, Sackboy and most importantly Bugsnax this was a flop waiting to happen
So a port , dlc that suddenly became a stand alone game , and a dead IP mascot ? plus some rando indie game is what people consider a stacked launch?

Souls fans are just fucking thirsty for anything. Where i my GT7 FFS

I'm still not interested even if it is for "free". Horrible character designs just as bad as Ninja Theory's Bleeding Edge.

Honestly is there a target group that likes those types of characters?

You gotta be a little bit more subtle than that if you want to troll my man

"Those fans will play anything! Give me the 7th game in the same outdated franchise!"
