The biggest issue is not where the gent is but how many outsiders attenders will be there that could spread the virus.

So any company take the safe actions to preserve their employees.

Personal vacation travels right now is pretty risk too.

It is the right way to do. Dont take any risk at all. We live in the future, where everyone can stream what ever they want. So ... why not have them stream what ever they feel up to? Send the links (youtube) to everyone wanting to "attend" and do it over the internet?

Any reason they have to be on site? No need to shake hands, just stream worldwide.

Thought you wouldn't engage lol. You're obviously terrified of corona and this is your outlet for that fear. You act as the source of truth when in fact most of what you post is garbage 4chan larping.

I feel honored you were so threatened by what I said to look up my account lol. I've been a long time lurker and only signed up after the great exodus of the woke, nice try though.

sometimes i feel the world just wants to be scared of something and looks for reasons to be scared of that something.

I am not afraid of 2.5% mortality rate virus personally, but man o' man everyone else is, lol.

Do you have children?

Most parents, I think, would be sweating bullets if they knew there was a 2.5% chance their child would die from a virus.

CDC just said prepare. It's now a matter of when, not if anymore. I love all this ridiculous replies about this virus, history shows us something like this happens every 100 years or so and this is shaping up to be another one. It wouldnt hurt anyone here just to be a little more ready since things are going to be disrupted from an infrastructure standpoint when this spreads.

Worse case scenario, I have 40 pounds of rice and plenty of beans and potatoes to eat for while. Best case, I have medicine, water, video games, a loaded pistol, food and everything else I need to hunker down for a couple months and could potentially work from home.

My backlog be blessed.
Now i know why faith had me fill up 3 terabites with games i havent touched yet.
And yes as i said before if i stock up and nothing happens i still have something to eat drink.
But if shit hits the fan and you end up like now in italy what will you eat?
You have to count with people freaking out and attack eachother at the stores.
I want to avoid that at all cost.
A little preparation never hurt.
And besides the basic items you should always stock. Maybe this is a good lesson for everyone to learn.

And to all the haters. Look at my location .
I am in the fuckin mountains. Bellow zero for 6 months of the year.
We have zero cases here. Do i look like i am in need to freak out? There is not another place that is as calm as it is here.
So no i am not paranoid or mental i am just vigilant.

The plus side is that MS is still going, so we will see some new next gen stuff soon.

The minus side is that it won’t make release, because they will all be dead come release.

I’m here all week folks, be sure to tip your waitress.
I'm tipping the waitress my full credit limit, VISA can't make a dead man pay.

Too bad that you can’t hide profiles with ignoring.

I just can’t see your disturbing avatar anymore. I almost have to puke.

Isn’t it now SAFE To go there since only American companies go there? It’s not like Asian companies will be there.

I ain't letting no virus kill my hobby! If this continues, Nvidia and AMD better release their new products so I can finally upgrade my grandpa of a rig and fill the air of my little room with smelly China Air!! Gamer all the way!!

On a more serious note, I hope for no delays in production and shipping for neither consoles nor any other products but obviously I'm all understanding with the current situation. It's just like Murphys law always does, it all came in a pretty darn unfortunate time frame.

Best of luck to anyone out there. Take care GAF, even to the people I dislike on here. I'm looking forward to many more cyber da boy debates with you all.

I find it funny how well this is working out for MIcrosoft. Provided that people still show up to these events, they are going to dominate the press time due to there being nobody else to talk to.

GDC being what it is, they might get a first look at an indie or a studio with big potential and they have less competition.

I get that the virus is a big concern, but life has to move forward as safely as possible. We can’t stop the entire worlds economy because of it, and hopefully it wakes some of these companies up that outsourcing everything to China can be a big problem if a country shuts down.

The saying “never put all your eggs in one basket” has never seemed more apt.

The normal masks sold in stores are ineffective against any virus, they are meant for bacterial deceases. But I guess they do give some sense of comfort for many.

The coronavirus hits just keep on coming. After leading to the withdrawal of Sony and Facebook from GDC, concerns over the outbreak has resulted in four more high profile withdrawals, with EA telling their staff not to attend the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco next month, and three major publishers abandoning PAX East.

News about both companies made the rounds overnight and early Wednesday morning Australian time, starting with EA. Alex Sherer, a specialist in ad product development at EA, posted last night that EA management had advised "all EA employees ... not to travel to San Francisco for the conference".
The decision was only made known to staff yesterday. In a statement to GamesIndustry, EA confirmed the emergence of new cases prompted the decision. "Having closely followed the global situation with coronavirus and with the recent escalation of cases in new regions, we have decided to take additional steps to protect the wellbeing of our employees including the restriction of all non-essential travel," EA said.

CD Projekt Red's call to cancel their PAX East appearance, however, will have the greatest impact. The show starts Friday Australian time in Boston, and their decision will be tough for any fans excited for fresh Cyberpunk 2077 content. It's not just CDR though: Capcom cancelled a Monster Hunter meet and greet event during the convention, while Square Enix cancelled a Final Fantasy 14 panel, fan gathering and developer signing sessions because of COVID-19 fears.

Taking into consideration the current situation within the region, sadly SQUARE ENIX has decided to cancel the PAX East attendance of staff who would be travelling from the Japan offices," Square wrote."This difficult decision was based on our desire to prevent any potential spread of the virus and to prioritise the health and safety of our team and our fans."

With more and more publishers pulling out, it increases the likelihood that more high profile departures will follow. And it might not be the only show to suffer. The organisers from Computex, the largest tech show in Asia and one of the highest profile events for CPU, GPU and peripheral manufacturers worldwide, will make a decision in April on whether to go ahead with their annual conference. That said, the organisers are upbeat about Taiwan's ability to contain the virus, citing the development of mobile apps to let citizens know where they can get stock of facial masks, as well as a cloud-based health initiative to connect ID cards and health insurance with customs data to identify potential future coronavirus cases.

Maybe they will just cancel the whole event due to many companies canceling the attendance or delay it to a later date

Jesus Christ just cancel the event at this point. I get where everyones coming from. Large gatherings should definitely be avoided until the situation is somewhat under control and the companies are doing the right thing trying to protect their employees
