A new Jurassic World movie is in the works.

I love Dinosaurs. I love the books and I love the 1993 original, but everything after that was shit, with the last Jurassic World film being the worst in the series (how was it worse than Fallen Kingdom)

This new one is being written by David Klopp, who was involved in the 1993 original and 1997 sequel.

To hear this is set in the JW era isn't getting my hopes up. What Universal should do is remake the first one, but make is more like the book which was more sci-fi horror than action adventure.

Are you hyped?

Fuck it, I'm in. First Jurassic World was fine, the second one had it's moments, but the last one was terrible. Here's hoping a new team can make something decent.

How hard is it to just make a damn movie about people just trying to live with dinosaurs? Sheesh.

Lost World is pretty fucking bad. Remember that olympic gymnast shit near the end?

Yep. I still can't believe Steven Spielberg thought that was a good idea. A 12 year old girl using gymnastics to kick the shit out of a raptor........lmao

Ain't no one remaking Jurassic Park 1, no director is gonna step on Steven Spielberg's shoes and try and remake an absolutely perfect movie. In all honesty I actually liked the first Jurassic World, I thought they nailed the whole actual working park thing and the indominous Rex was a pretty awesome Dino, the last one was beyond fucking woeful, with this new one they need to go small, maybe a small town/community cut off and terrorised or something as going big just don't work

Actually, the original author has made it clear that the first film is closer to how he envisioned his story as opposed to how the book turned out. He wanted an even mix of horrific and whimsical moments, but his editor forced the whimsical elements out. So Spielberg’s film, which did go for that even mix, is arguably the true version of Jurassic Park.

I didn't see the last two yet, but I'd like to see them try something different.

Maybe for this one they can pretend that humanity has really given up on the whole reviving dinosaurs for the purpose of entertainment, weaponizing them, or using them for some type of study. All that's left now is abondoned dinosaurs struggling for survival in their unnatural habitat with lots of brutal killing and baby dinos being chomped on.

If you want to have a person in the script to have someone to relate to, it could be some survivor who got left behind when everyone else hightailed it out of town in whatever the last scramble was and they subsist on leftover supplies in some shitty hideout spot. For extra drama, they could have flashbacks about someone they cared for that one of the dinosaurs killed and now the only thing them motivating them to survivor is animalistic revenge.

Hype Train conductor. Works harder than it steams.
David Klopp gives me hope, I didn't mind Jurassic World & Fallen Kingdom.
Dominion was a piece of shit though, but given today's climate it's not surprising.
Then again, gotta expect the new one to be the same despite David Klopp being involved.

how long until dinos in spaaaaaaaace

It's coming mate.

The objective here is to feck over the last movie that came out and just continue on the downward spiral at an accelerated rate hitting every pot of filmic feaces on the way down into the abyss of irrelevancy.

At this point subjecting the inmates to 27/4 loops of Jurassic World Domination at Guantanamo Bay would be an effective torture technique.

That's odd. Why then did Michael Crichton keep the same tone with the Lost World?

Regardless, the editor was spot on. The books are far superior to the films. A true adaptation of the books would be amazing.

Not sure what to think of this after the last two. First JW was somewhat decent though. Then again, JW2+3 are also trash.

We’ll see. I like dinos and hence I’m open to the idea. There are not enough dino movies.

Jurassic World was ok only due to the nostalgia.

Fallen Kingdom was complete dog shit.

Domination was complete dog shit.

My nephew loves dinosaurs, gets all the toys for birthday and Christmas, i guess these films while they bomb critically they do sell a shit ton of action figures.

I mean what else is there to do with the franchise at this point? They should just set it in the far future with the humans having gone extinct and the dinos clone them to build an amusement park.

Michael Crichton in his grave

Chrichton's original movie rights deal actually was for six movies to Universal. So his estate obviously wants more money since they extended that.

He wanted a movie franchise which is why his Lost World novel was written as a sequel to the first movie instead of the first book.

On a similar note, I'd love a better adaption of Sphere. The book was bangin. The movie was ass.

This is actually the only thing I can remember from the whole movie. I haven't seen it since it came out. To me TLW is a camper hanging off a cliff and girl kicking a raptor...that's it

Honestly most of the film is bad, I feel it’s likely only remembered fondly due to nostalgia and the fact that it’s the only sequel Spielberg directed of the series

-the gymnastics part was covered

-most of the main ”heroes” are idiots and/or assholes. They are supposed to be smart, yet think trying to help a baby T-Rex won’t end with the mother trying to murder the shit out of them. They demonize the hunters for trying to capture the dinosaurs and put them in a zoo, but then the hunters save their asses and our “heroes” STILL act all critical towards them (Malcolm giving the lead hunter shit for making light of their teammate’s death despite that being mainly the fault of Malcom and his team!), culminating in Vince Vaughn stealing the ammo from the main hunter which could have resulted in that hunter’s death! I’m not saying one has to approve of animals being in zoos, but the second you try to endanger someone’s life over it, yeah, go fuck yourself.

Oh, and because this lead to the T-Rex getting captured instead of killed, every single death in Californian from said T-Rex is on Vince Vaughn’s hands.

It was interesting to hear they actual cut an establishing scene of the main hunter where he saves a woman in a bar who was being sexually harassed by a creep. Apparently they didn’t want to have people rooting for the hunter over the leads. Guess what, between the two, I’d still root for the hunters, at least the main one.

Also, Julianne Moore’s character belittles Malcom for not wanting to go back to the island despite that anyone with working brain cells who heard what went down in the first film would leave any survivors likely extremely traumatized

Generally, it’s only Malcolm who manages to be tolerable, and the poor guy who get killed was the only truly intelligent person in their group (so of course he’s the one to die! And again, it’s all because they couldn’t just leave that baby T-Rex alone!)

-the stupidity of the boat sequence. So “apparently” the T-Rex got free, killed the boat crew…..and then locked himself back in. What?! I know apparently there are rumors of there being unused footage of raptors appearing on the boat and they killed the crew, but both early drafts and the shooting script make no mention of that, so that’s some copium and it’s just an illogical moment.

Yeah, I really don’t like that film. Also way too long, like Jurassic Park 3 sucks too, but it’s much shorter, so if forced to I’d rather rewatch 3 over LW as at least it would be over faster. Even the city sequence in LW bores me, it’s like, “hey, it’s like a Godzilla movie, only this thing is smaller and can’t make energy blasts.” ……..still better than Godzilla 1998 though!

The last movie was brain meltingly bad, like not a single monkey reviewed the script to see if it made sense

The first one was good and had potential, but nothing has come close to the first Jurassic Park which is one of the best movies ever

Jurassic park horror movie has potential it would require introducing new characters and a handful of elements now you have a story that ultimately people don’t care about.

We’ll see what happens I like Chris Pratt.

Maybe they could make a movie with nothing but Dinos, no people. Just 2 hours of Dinos having fun on their private island.
