Do you think they're going to have Capaldi run as much as Tennant/Smith did? He's not decrepit but he's not in his 30s either...
Eighth said his mother was a human though. The looms didn't create 'adult' sized beings though, AFAIK. They were still children sized, physically.

8th had a northern companion, Lucy Miller. Obviously there's the War Doctor between them now but still.
It's definitely my headcanon that 11 regenerated into someone with a Scottish accent because of Amy.

Ha! Well, at least this will help narrow down the discussions for the Capaldi's successor!

Peter Dickson for #13, the campaign starts here!

Just read a cute and somewhat interesting YouTube comment about The Doctor and his accents.
10th 'picking' his accent after his time with Rose, 11th for the same reason, and now the 12th for his time with Amy. Can't think how to explain 9, but yeah, it's still cool.

Cause I was killing people and things and seeing horrors for hundreds of years and was then about to commit genocide on two races (one of which was my own), I wouldn't be so jolly.
Also, the feelings/behavior/memories of the 9th doctor should be a continuation from the "War Doctor." Yeah I get that each doctor behaves in his own way, etc., but clearly #9 was traumatized by the actions of the War Doctor, but the War Doctor wasn't?

They were full grown physically but childlike and had to mature mentally.
War Doctor was made to function in a war. As such he was likely capable of enduring it without letting it change who he was fundamentally. The 9th didn't have that benefit, plus was reeling from thinking he had killed his people.
Basically think of it like PTSD. Plenty of vets functioned fine in combat, but once the war was over that's when the emotional scarring started to show.
I'd also wonder if meeting the other Doctors and having the chance to act like him again rather than warrior also helped change his attitude to bring part of it all. Part of the events making him the Doctor again.
Maybe on a subconscious level, but he wouldn't have remembered the events of The Day of the Doctor.
He's talking exclusively about the War Doctor, who remembered everything until he regenerated into Eccleston.
For those who have a smart device but have not checked it out yet I made a Doctor Who Legacy |OT| on the gaming side.
It's a FREE Smartphone (and soon PC) Game that has the player using puzzles to battle the Doctors greatest threats. It's made by some really dedicated Whovians with official BBC licensing and has planned free support until the have checked off every possible piece of Doctor Who content they can make and the Community wants.
I've played it for countless hours since launch and it seems to have a hugely positive response. It's huge fan service and I recommend it completely. It's also been getting some pretty gushing reviews in the Smartphone gaming circles.
A GOOD Doctor Who game? I might actually have to pick it up now.
I used to be in a Doctor Who fan club that met every week in a hotel in Edinburgh. And this was during Peter Davison era. You kids today don't know you're born.
Capaldi does fun runs and cross country events in his spare time. I suspect he'll be fine.Do you think they're going to have Capaldi run as much as Tennant/Smith did? He's not decrepit but he's not in his 30s either...

When does the new season start anyway?
Oh, I didn't know you watched, JJ
Honestly if he did that inquisitive lean forward and stare on me I'd runI think he'll be fine, I don't expect the same amount but I don't believe he's not capable of it either. Honestly he seems like the Doctor to stand and shout at his enemies rather than run away![]()
No. Considering he is going to be out of breath standing next to Jenna Louise Coleman. LolDo you think they're going to have Capaldi run as much as Tennant/Smith did? He's not decrepit but he's not in his 30s either...
Anyone else think that episode titles in the style "[x] of the Doctor" are a bit naff and overused?
This episode was seriously a fucking mess. Totally disappointed.
Goddamnit, I just sunk four+ hours into this game without even realizing it. It's simple, but still really fun and addicting.
Do you think that Capaldi is too old to have a romantic relationship with the impossible girl?

Sadly Capaldi wont last long in before regen next year.

He's arguably the biggest fan of the show to take the reigns. I can imagine that would translate to wanting to stay as long as possible. As others have pointed out, he's the prime candidate to lead a Doctor Who movie too. Growing Hollywood name with lots of acting chops and a distinct gravitas.
Hopefully he pulls a Susan on Clara and leaves her and her new pretty boyfriend on a remote planet.
