Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA F |OT| BELEEK (PS3/Vita)

Picked up my copy last night, can't wait to play it tonight :D

How much was it?

$400 USD (plus $100 fast shipping to the UK) - it was marked down $100 from the current price listed on Play-Asia. When I bought mine 5 days ago, it just went straight out of stock - I didn't know if mine was the only one offered at that time, though. They have it relisted, but now it's $500.

Edit: Beaten like a mule by Aytrial ;)

No custom charges on a box that size? Lucky >_<

Not yet - I've been caught out by this before. Delivery companies often pay duty for you to clear an item so they can keep up their end of the bargain by delivering an item, then send you a delightful letter reminding you that you have to pay out more money! I've factored it in, so if and when it happens, it won't be a huge shock.

VGP updated me saying that they're processing my order, so hopefully it'll ship later today. Airmail's usually pretty fast, so I'm expecting it on Monday.

I've never had that happen. Royal Mail and Parcel Force both hold my parcel until I've paid the charge.

Well hopefully you don't!

So no translated lyric subtitles?

Too bad. I'll keep my Japanese version then. No point in buying it again, that was the only thing I was looking forward to.

Waiting for a localization of the Vita version now, so I can buy it as digital on my main PSN account and have it permanently installed on my Vita. But I fully expect Sega to let me down.

Thanks! But do you guys think the song list should be spoiler tagged? The current list isn't...

Eh, I just figured I'd play it safe. Some people can be pretty touchy about accidental spoilers (myself included), and I'd feel terrible if I unknowingly spoiled the song list for someone who was trying to go in completely fresh. It's easy enough to avoid the OP if you're worried about stuff like that, but a random post on the sixth page of the thread is another story. ;)

Is there a better delay calibration in the full game than there is in the demo? I recently set up a new tv and sound output, and I feel like the button press lag is really screwing me up, and the delay calibration is not very useful...I don't know how to adjust that appropriately.

I don't believe so , i could be wrong (in japan version) which annoys me. Needs to be patched in or released as separate ps3 download/app

Eventually I will buy Leo Bodnar's Lag Tester device for this so I may adjust to new tv's quickly maybe. Heard there's a 2nd version of it being created soon/now.

I've never had to calibrate any rhythm game across the 4 HDTV's i've played on. only thing that really caused my issues was PS2 version of Guitar Hero 3 but I own that on PC

Asks questions so Ezalc doesn't have to
I didn't calibrate when I played the JPN version though I probably should have. It seemed ever so slightly off but I adjusted well (I think... XD)

Walked into a retail store and picked up a localized copy of a Hatsune Miku video game from SEGA. In 2013.

The surrealism of that scenario still hasn't gone away from me.

Everything is actually a dream and you're about to wake up.

I have Amazon Prime but it looks like I won't get the game till Thursday. I wonder what happened? I usually get games the day they come out.

Still can't wait to play it though.

This game never had the release day guarantee. Amazon is now saying mine will be here tomorrow instead of Thursday.

Well, it's in the OP out in the open for now, mostly because huge lists behind spoiler tags look pretty ugly and I think most people who would recognize the songs without having played the game would have seen the Japanese version's track list by now anyway. Thanks again for doing this!

I might try to edit in the Japanese names later for songs that got translated names, though I'm a bit concerned about clutter at that point. Also waiting on a NA PSN price and a PEGI rating to overhaul the release data. If anyone sees it go on PSN let me know what price it is?

Also about to head to GameStop to claim my copy. My copy from Amazon doesn't get here until Thursday, and I'll most likely be at the airport when it arrives...

So I got my copy last night without incident, and then proceeded straight to bed when I got home (after a Crunchyroll detour to see if the new Watamote episode was up yet). So after work tonight it is, then!

I still want that controller :(.

Is there a big benefit or advantage to the fancy arcade controllers? With something like DDR I get it, but I feel like I'm missing something here. Or is it more "this is cool because it's exactly like the arcade setup"?

Depends on your tv. Here is a hint though, you'll want to go negative. Generally increments of 5 will help you narrow it down. I found my spot was around the negative 20 area.

On a positive note, the pre-order code is working right now! Woo, thought I was going to have to wait for the update. The theme's icons look way too bright though, changed it back immediately. It's weird using X for confirm for this game, i'm never going to get used to that.

Last note while this is installing, any chance of the other DLC popping up at all in todays update (or if they're even in the pipeline?). Would love to get some teto and popipopipo on.

I guess it is a little daunting at first (ahh I remember when the first project Diva came out).

You just gotta get used to the way notes appear. The best way I can describe it is don't focus on the note, focus on where they're going to land (the silhouettes). Once you focus that, you will be able to maintain rhythm and probably tune out most of the background. At that point the only thing you should really be concerned about is timing. If you're having trouble with timing, and I can't say this enough times, try to calibrate.

The best way to calibrate is to find a song with steady stream of notes, play them over and over with different numbers until it feels right. Negative is compensating for input lag, positive is adding input lag.

Thanks PAULINK for the calibration tips.

It's the same as the arcade controller, so probably to add to the "more authentic" factor.

.....though I can't help but see it as a re-arranged Pop'n Music arcade controller. Think it's just those giant, dome buttons.

Tidbit from the manual (all 5 pages of it): the timing adjustment is in milliseconds. As mentioned previously, go negative if the visual is late and go positive if the visual is early (though if at all possible you should run analog audio separately from your TV to avoid making this possible).

No mainstream reviews yet? (Is there going to be a review thread?) I want to have some laughs.

Mine is going up very shortly. I was all ready to schedule it for 9AM today (the embargo), and then realized we had absolutely no screenshots. *heh* So I'm trying to rectify that and get it up.

The arcade setup actually a tad bit different for the button layout.

Personally, I feel like using the mini controller definitely adds to the experience, making certain songs a lot easier, thanks to the feedback you get from the buttons as well as having an easier time transitioning from button to button.

FYI the game allows you to natively take screenshots through the xmb if you're in a jam.

Yeah, my issue is if I start taking my own screenshots, then I'm going to spend hours doing so because I'm super picky and will want to get everything just perfect. *heh*

So my friend saw this on a Seattle bus... So fucking awesome.

Yeah, the Metro that runs by my house in the Greenlake neighborhood had one of those ads on it last night.

This happens every year around PAX. Seattle taxis had Aliens Colonial Marines ads on top of them starting in August and lasted until January or February of this year. There were also videos for Playstation All Stars Battlewhatever running at baggage claim at SeaTac International Airport.

So did you check out the help items? In particular the Star Changer, which is a bit different from the Star Killer help item the Vita game had.

Oh, turns out I've actually been doing the songs on Normal, which isn't quite as bad, but still, just barely passing is lame.

The extra character modules back being available day one is a surprise. Along with the Snow Miku 2013 codes from GameStop/EB Games, that's already 2/3 of all available DLC!

never Gumi....

You were expecting DLC that doesn't exist on the Japanese end?
